With storyboards and music originally developed in 2009, this project spent many years on the shelf while creator Andrew Chesworth dedicated his time to his career at Disney, Taiko, and Netflix. A work-in-progress of the opening sequence was released on YouTube in April 2015 and accumulated over 10 million views. In July 2020, the project was revived with the help of Patreon to be completed with a remote team of artists during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The main character, Linus, bears a resemblance to Casey Jr. from Dumbo (1941).
The woman dressed in green previously appeared in Andrew Chesworth's video Wild West.
Linus and his coaches originally had buffers installed similar to the engines and rolling stock used in Britain. Due to the short taking place in America, the buffers were removed.
