- In this comedy of errors, Vivek Kharbanda is a U.S. Real Estate Tycoon who remains fiercely proud of his Indian heritage. But this pride goes hand-in-hand with his resentment of the British and their two-hundred year rule over India. So when Vivek's daughter Vidhi becomes romantically involved with Harry William II, a Theater Major and descendant of British royalty, she lies and tells her father that her boyfriend is Indian. After countless frustrations over his idiotic but lovable Italian cook Friday, Vivek asks his daughter to send him a British butler to "finally put the British in their place." Vivek's request at first infuriates Harry, but to show-off his acting skills, Harry decides to play the role of butler in Vivek's home. Vidhi realizes that this zany idea might be the only way she can introduce her British boyfriend to her father, and the couple bets that if Harry can fool Vivek into thinking he is a real butler, Vidhi will finally accept how racist her father is. To satisfy Vivek's demands to meet Vidhi's new man, the two rope in Vidhi's meek gay best friend Praveen to pose as Vidhi's fictional Indian boyfriend. And while Vidhi, Harry and Praveen try to keep their stories straight, at Vivek's company a more sinister scheme is afoot, as trusted Vice-President Chris Anderson and his colleague Rachael plan to secretly take over Vivek's company. Will Vivek's anti-British attitude prove unbreakable, jeopardizing Vidhi's and Harry's relationship? Will Chris's and Rachael's plot against Vivek be discovered before it's too late? And will Friday finally follow an order correctly? Come see how spicy this tale gets!—Anonymous
- South Asian-American Vidhi Kharbanda, completing her last semester at Oxford, is heiress to a Bel-Air construction fortune, her father, Vivek Kharbanda - V.K. - who came to the US with nothing to build this multi-billion dollar empire from the ground. Vidhi is about to tell her father, who she loves and admires, that she has fallen in love with Harry William II, eighty-ninth in line to the British throne, who she met in their freshman year, and plans to get married, but she falls short of doing so when she learns that patriotically Indian V.K. hates the British due to their former colonization of India. What ends up coming out of Vidhi's mouth is that her fiancé is not Harry, but rather Hari, a fellow South Asian, which places her in a further predicament as her parents expect her to bring Hari with her on her final trip home. Learning what she said, Harry comes up with a plan, which he bets her that he can pull off with her father not learning of the deception until they tell him: she should bring her best friend, gay Praveen Kumar, to Bel-Air to masquerade as her fiancé, Hari Kumar, while Harry will arrive in Bel-Air one week earlier to masquerade as Hugh Sidebottom, the replacement English butler Vidhi has retained for the family, Harry who will try to earn the respect of Vidhi's parents in the process. Beyond flamboyant Praveen being able to masquerade as being straight, the question becomes how much degradation Harry is willing to endure at V.K.'s hands, V.K. who requires his English butlers to call him master in showing his power over them. What may factor into what happens is that V.K.'s trusted assistant, Chris Anderson - a snake in sheep's clothing - is plotting against him when he learns that V.K. plans for Vidhi to take over the business at the appropriate time rather than Chris' expectation of he being the heir apparent.—Huggo
