Violent and extreme but tedious watch
omendata30 April 2022
This film started off well, like a lot of road kill movies do but soon degenerated into extreme misogyny and violence with some really poor acting and tedious overly long scenes.

Ok so it is a horror movie and we should be expecting violence and horror but the story itself could have been made in a 30 min short as it is just too long for its own good and soon becomes repetitive and perhaps it is the culture of the Philippines but it comes across as overly misogynistic and brutal for the sake of it and quite unpleasant which I am reliably informed by my Filipino female friends is actually quite an accurate portrayal of women's lives in the Philippines.

If you are female I would especially avoid watching this as it is neither entertaining or interesting and could put you off a holiday there for life.

Warning: Spoilers
You can feel the thrill at the beginning of the movie, but that's all when the hell the action begins Well dont wait there is nothing exept Filpino psycho normal violence the actors did their best and filled their roles and these roles, if it was in a novel, you would see garbage characters.

Better than expected

I came to watch this movie completely not knowing the synopsis or concept. It seems like the typical indie film combining sex and violence but the director of the film managed to make a decent movie from a potentially generic script.

John Arcilla does a great job as a crazed ex soldier who terrorizes a stranded couple. I actually like his role here better than the one he portrayed in Erik Matti's On The Job: The Missing 8.

This was quite difficult to watch though and is not for the squeamish. It's pretty realistic, especially in its depiction of the sex scenes. To the director's credit, he was able to build enough suspense and tension. Some viewers may be put off by the pacing but a level of patience is required.
