This Story is about my husband's life who I am Married to for 22 years. I happen to meet him right after the incident, I can testify to the trauma that he lived after this happened to him. He pursued the truth for over 20 years, just to have the truth told so people would know not to fear death and that there is God and an afterlife. The ambulance reports show he was dead, the police reports say ambulance was called for an officers wrist. The ambulance report says, they were called to bring life support system. We tried 4 lawyers for over 60k not one questioned the police. Then my husband had cancer, depression years later he tried again 2009 he wrote a book about the incident 15k more wasted. But he never gave up, a script writer loved the story ( Johnny Murillo) and wrote the first script for free 10 years ago. 50k later and 6 years wasted by two crooked producers The script found a way to Kevin Sorbo. He loved the story and 3 years later we finally made the movie. We trust God our Father for his help to give us justice, we spent so much time, money, 1000's of emails and calls to finally have his story told. We have evidence of what happened that night that no lawyer even bothered to get, police reports saying I was in cuffs 25 minutes, pepper sprayed 4 times as they thought they had an armed burglar who was breaking into million dollar home in one of Boca Ratons wealthiest developments Boca Grove. Of course the rich snooty people there didn't want my story out, but we won't give up till the truth is told. My husband passed a lie detector test and we offer 100k for the officers to talk. The Epoch times did a huge article in Fla but police still.refuse to comment. Would we be going through all this for so long if it weren't true?

We all watch indie films and expect there to be technical flaws, confusing or unpolished subplots and poor acting...especially when the budget is under $100k but ya know what, this film impressed me. It was made with heart and based on an actual event with a real message to the public and not just entertainment. Entertaining is what Hollywood is there for. The main event in this film is similar to a nationally televised and recognized tragedy and titled as such. While this may offend some people I feel it's important to understand that this unfortunate ordeal isn't copyrighted to anyone. If it's happened elsewhere it should also be fair game for a film such as this one. Good job!

A must see! Based on a true story. The title of the movie is powerful, it grabs your attention and the movie, with a great cast pulls you in! Kevin Sorbo is a great actor and fills the role perfectly! I definitely recommend everyone to see this movie. This movie was made on a low budget compared to other films but don't let that stop you from seeing it. I hope this movie continues to reach so many people all o er the world in telling the story of how amazing God is and the many miracles he still performs. "I Can't Breathe" (God Forgive Them) is a must see! Check it out, you will be happy you did!

This movie was very gripping and disturbing at the same time. I felt such empathy and sadness for the victim for all he had to endure, and such disdain for the ignorance of the police officers involved, May God forgive them. I hope every law enforcement agency would require cadets to see this movie prior to joining the force. The sad part about it is that there are still police officers that behave this way in every city in every state. All my prayers and support to the victim and his family and pray that they may have a blessed life from here on in. I can't wait to see the final outcome I just see that justice is restored.

I'm sorry, I really wanted to give this flick a chance, seeing that it was produced locally. But really? Titling your film "I Can't Breathe" in the wake of the George Floyd tragedy? I understand that this film was meant to be an analogy for the story of Job, but it seems like a glaring oversight on so many fronts.

Excellent story! The passion and effort that went into creating this is amazing. Tom Laresca is an incredible person- so kind and genuine. He has worked very hard for a long time to share this story on a larger level. I was fortunate enough to hear the story directly from Tom and the movie is just as good! It is so amazing to be able to see it played out visually. The quality of the filming and acting is excellent- likely because everyone who had a part in this truly understands how important this story is. I highly recommend you take the time to watch this movie and share it with others. Thank you to all involved!

Thinking about this heart breaking movie brings tears to my eyes! Police brutality is getting worse in this country every day! My heart goes out to my big brother Tommy who I love as blood family in Christ! The thought of being attacked by law enforcement when you are innocent scares me to know end. In my hometown of Cincinnati Ohio, there have been some very bad cops over the decades. In Chillicothe Ohio, there has been corruption in law enforcement as well. Tommy is blessed to have survived this brutal senseless attack. These corrupt police better repent and get saved and lead better lives because Jesus is soon to return. I know Tommy online and I am so proud to call him my brother. Kevin Sorbo is one of my favorite actors. This Christian movie should win awards. My heart goes out to Tommy and I consider him a modern day Superman! I have plans of joining his church in NYC Statin Island. God bless this true super hero and God bless his wife, kids and family. The movie cast is full of superior actors and actresses. I want to buy the book and a copy of this movie. This is hands down one of the best christian movies of the 21st century! I highly recommend!

The title came from deposition taken from the security guard 20 years ago, the guard stated he heard Mr. Laresca screaming I can't breathe God forgive them. Mr. Laresca tried lawyer after lawyer to question the police how he wound up in intensive care he never was able to have them questioned. Then he had cancer, depression years later he wrote a book about it, three attempts to make a movie in the last 10 years he was ripped off twice, and all he wants is for the police to finally be questioned. The police were on top of him for 25 minutes while handcuffed, no empathy for him, why? Ambulance s.

I like the way the movie starts out with action, and I have seen the ambulance reports, saying they needed to bring emergency life support system and hospital reports saying he was admitted to ICU. The man has been posting those reports on Linkedin and Facebook, along with deposition from the security guard on duty that night, stating the guard heard Mr Laresca screaming I CANT BREATHE, YOUR KILLING ME, and I AM DYING. He also showed police reports that say they called the ambulance because an officer hurt his wrist, pretty big contradiction with ambulance reports right there. So if I were put into intensive care by the police, and hired lawyer after lawyer without the police being questioned, I wouldn't let it go either. He also wrote a book about it in 2009, worked as a trader on Wall Street for 25 years, never guilty of a crime in his life, why weren't those police questioned? Sounds like the exclusive development in Boca Raton where this happened did not want this story out. Also why would the man offer 100K for the police to finally talk? If they weren't guilty why not talk, I would talk about anything if I was innocent, especially for 100K.

Wow! I couldn't breath after watching this. Excellent performances by a mostly newcomer cast. The storyline is very compelling and makes you want to not go for the popcorn in the middle of the movie because every scene was riveting. Great job for a small budget film. I would recommend and look forward to future performances by the cast members- I have a feeling a few stars are born in this one. Enjoy! Thomas LaResca, writer and actor was terrific and stood out of the crowd as well as Shane Youhas and Kevin Sorbo who added professionalism to the film. Watch this and you too will be holding onto each scene in amazement. In fact, you too will be breathless wondering how something like this can still happen to innocent people.

I honestly can't wait. If you watch until the end you'll know what I mean. Very powerful messages about police brutality, human rights, our connection with God, the afterlife, family issues / believing in yourself. The film was made from a book written by the main character (Thomas Laresca) and the events take place in the 90's. It's just another example of how the system is corrupt and innocent people are accused and abused by bad police and bad judges still today. This film puts pressure on a corrupt system accountable for their 'forgivable', but not forgettable actions. Very interesting film, I would highly recommend watching this.

I found this to be a very captivating story about faith and how it aids in overcoming adversity and life's struggles. The scenes are compelling, leaving you with sense of legitimacy of the events taking place. Many of the scenes leave you pondering, "how can this happen?" I found the acting very good, especially with having some big name stars like Kevin Sorbo and Shane Youhas.
This is a must see, as it depicts the brutality innocent people could face at the hands of fanatical people of power. This movie leaves you totally engaged in what's happening. With almost as if this horror happening (live) right in front of you,

After watching this film it dawned on me what Tom had endured in the years following his life altering encounter . He faced numerous obstacles through the years yet through them all he emboldened his belief in GOD l think it was an inspiring movie that should be a MUST SEE. ! After watching this movie it really made me rethink a lot of things in which I had a totally different mindset . You have to keep an open mind and this really has made me feel a certain way . I had watched this movie with my wife and she really did think it was a great movie . She has told many of her friends to watch it !
This film is a must see! 11 out of 10 stars****.

I am not usually a fan of smaller budgets films. I was very pleasantly surprised.
It was so much better than other smaller budgets films I have seen. It told the very heart-wrenching story of someone that went through a terrible experience but came out on the other side of it. I really enjoyed, as a Christian the amount of glory that was given to God in this film. It's quite a shame that Tom had to endure such a tough and challenging experience, both with the police officers, and his following health concerns. But God is great and Tom survived. Thanks for this film. Highly recommended.

The best movie i ever seen and a real story behind it . I would definitely suggest to anyone to watch it that how he pursued the truth for over 20 years, just to have the truth told so people would know not to fear death and that there is God and an afterlife.

Real Life Story of Brutality and Forgiveness

The story line of this movie is a true story about a friend of mine, a friend from before, during and still to this day some 42 years later still a great friend and person. His story is one that he had to tell! Tom needed to let people know what really happened to him while in Florida. It is a story of a man of great moral character that choose to do the right thing and for that he almost paid the ultimate price at the hands of the corrupt police officers that responded to a call one night. The truth is now out there in book form, and now on film. It is a story that could happen to anyone by being in the wrong spot at the wrong time. Tom, by the way, was in his own gated community near his own home when this happened. Think about that for a minute, scary.

Uplifting Story - Great Movie

This movie is very encouraging. Especially because it is based on Tom's real life experience. The realization that sometimes "doing the right thing" still will result in persecution and in this case violence. I find it very uplifting that they were working on him in the ambulance and Tom was dead - he experienced the presence of the Lord. As believers we have faith this will be the case but is is very encouraging to learn of a real testimony. Toms powerful decision to walk in forgiveness in the face of the additional adversity and hatred was also a powerful example to us. Continuing to hope people are blessed by the movie and for a positive outcome in the next steps to come.
