- The final four contestants leave the ranch and transition back to life at home, showing off their new slimmer selves to family and friends and facing the temptations and challenges of everyday life. Six weeks later, they return to the ranch to run 26.2 miles, cheered on by loved ones. The winner breaks a "Biggest Loser" marathon record. Then a final weigh-in determines who the two definite finalists will be - and which two contestants fall below the dreaded yellow line, leaving America to vote which one will be the third finalist to compete for the grand prize of $250,000.—NBC Publicity
- With Brendan below the red line and Mark voted off of the two below the yellow line at the last weigh-in, Ada, Elizabeth, Frado and Patrick comprise the final four contestants. As the biggest loser at that weigh-in, Frado also won a cooking demonstration at his home by Curtis Stone. With Curtis' OK, Frado decides to make it a charity event. Alison also provides each with a DVD of their on-ranch journey as a motivator for them at home. Watching her DVD with her parents and other family members is an especially cathartic experience for Ada and the Wong family. On the DVD's, each also learns he/she will be in the exclusive club of now twelve that will have run the biggest loser marathon, this edition to be held in six week's time. In preparation, each of the four receives a surprise visit from either Bob or Jillian. Elizabeth, in particular, feels ill prepared to complete the task, while Ada aims to break the women's record held by Tara Costa. But all want to finish if only for the $10,000 donation to the charity of their choice for completing the run. After the six weeks, the four weigh-in for the penultimate time, with the top two making it into the finals while the bottom two will ultimately fight it out for the third and final spot through votes by the public.—Huggo
- Marathon episode time folks. Everybody ready for clips? Alison contragulates the final four contestants, gives them DVDs and sends them home for six weeks to prepare for the Biggest Loser marathon. She reminds Frado that he has earned a visit from Curtis Stone
We watch everyone's homecoming celebration: Elizabeth in Massachusetts, Ada in California, Frado in New York and Patrick in Mississippi. The most interesting in Ada's which features her much-maligned parents.
All four contestants watch their DVDs with the family. They are basically highlight reels of past workouts, weigh-ins and emotional moments from throughout the season. Again, Ada's is the most interesting, as her mother quietly weeps while listening to all of her comments about not feeling any support from her family. Afterwards they say they did not realize she was so unhappy. Her father says he works hard to support her, but Ada doesn't think that's enough for her.
We see the contestants beginning to train for the marathon. Frado talks about the challenge, while Ada is interested in breaking the show's female marathon record, set by Tara in Season 7. We see that with his wife at work full-time, Patrick is a stay-at-home dad, trying to incorporate workouts along with household chores.
Frado decides to incorporate his use of Curtis Stone into a large charity function. He brings in a group of friends and business associates and ends up raising about $25,000 for several different charities.
The trainers "surprise" our contestants at their homes. Jillian pops in on Elizabeth and Ada, while Bob goes to see Patrick and Frado. Bob talks to Patrick about treating his weight loss as his job and puts him through a workout. Jillian isn't thrilled with Elizabeth, who has moved in with her boyfriend. She seems to be struggling with her workouts and has a ton of unhealthy food in her fridge.
Frado tells Bob that his first few weeks at home weren't great, but that he's starting to come around. Bob thinks Frado looks great. Ada is focused on beating Tara's 4 hour, 56 minute time and Jillian thinks it will probably happen.
The marathon begins. Quickly Ada takes a big lead. It looks like Frado and Patrick will run together, with Elizabeth well behind. Jillian shows up to run with the contestants after a few miles, just when the heat and hills are starting to take a toll.
Perhaps the highlight of the marathon comes with Ada about halfway though. Bob shows up to run with her and she tells him she needs to use the bathroom. Bob mentions that true marathoners just pee their pants, but Ada tells him this isn't a "No. 1" situation. With help from a producer Ada ducks into a porta-john to take care of the Code Brown situation, losing six minutes in the process.
As always, multiple family members show up to run various parts of the races with the contestants. Children, siblings and parents all make appearances.
Ada is first across the finish line, breaking Tara's record with a time of 4:38. Patrick is next, finishing 5:45, while Frado's time is 5:51. Obviously Elizabeth is last, finishing in just over seven hours.
Weigh-in time. Two people will be above the line and safe, while two will have to plead their case to America. The results will be read during next week's finale. Up first is Elizabeth, who after six weeks at home has lost 15 pounds (to 177). Frado does much better, dropping 27 pounds (to 221) during his time at home.
That means Ada must have lost more than 19 pounds to guarantee a spot in the final-3. She comes up short, having lost 12 pounds (to 167). Everyone is stunned. Patrick needs to have lost more than 21 pounds. He does it easily, having lost 35 pounds (to 244).
Ada and Elizabeth both make their case to America and the episode ends.
