In a few short weeks, Lionsgate's upcoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reboot film, which has Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) directing, will kick-off production and it's looking like the new team of Rangers will be more than ready when the time comes. Over the past few months, a couple of the core cast members - Dacre Montgomery (Betrand The Terrible), Becky Gomez (Empire), Rj Cyler (Me And Earl And The Dying Girl), & Ludi Lin (Monster Hunt) - have been posting training updates showing off their impressive progress as well as some of their newfound fighting skills. The casting news just keep pouring in. Lionsgate & Saban Entertainment have now announced that they've found another key team member for their upcoming Dean Israelite-directed Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reboot. Newcomer Ludi Lin has joined the team as Zack Taylor a.k.a. the Black Ranger (although the name is subject to change). He'll more than likely harness the "Mastodon" dinozord powers. Lin has presumably beaten out the likes of Daniel Zovatto (It Follows), Ross Butler (Chasing Life), and Brian 'Sene' Marc (Luke Cage), who were all rumored to be up for the part in a Variety report from earlier this month. Lin now joins fellow newcomer Dacre Montgomery (Betrand The Terrible), who will be playing the Red Ranger, and Naomi Scott (The Martian), who will be playing the Pink Ranger.
