Actress Naomi Watts announced on Instagram that she has married fellow actor Billy Crudup.
In a picture posted to Instagram, she captioned the post “Hitched” of the two of them with their arms around each other outside of a Manhattan courthouse looking admiringly at each other.
They first met back in 2017, when they acted as a married couple in Netflix’s Gypsy. The actress, who starred in King Kong and Mulholland Drive, wore an elaborate dress embellished with florals designed by Oscar De La Renta accompanied by white flowers that were from a deli.
The groom, who starred in The Morning Show and Rudderless, wore a navy blue tuxedo and a white button-down.
They commemorated their special day with friends and artists Mark Ruffalo and Josh Hamilton.
For her hair, she worked with hairstylist Ryan Trygstad for a classic side parted-do and makeup artist Kyra Panchenko for a clean presence.

Characters are finally moving forward following Billy's death.
But All American Season 5 Episode 19 revealed that these changes will impact those closest to them.
What isn't at all evident is what this will mean for next season on The CW's only renewed script series.
Where to start? Where to start?
How about Olivia, who has been vying with Spencer recently for the title of "most rudderless character."
Understandably, those two are grieving because they lost their father/father figure. Jordan is in the same boat, but he has made a faster turnaround, largely thanks to having Layla to lean upon.
Freshman Liv decided to embrace college life on All American Season 5 Episode 18. After getting involved with the Black Student Union at Gau, she discovered that the group had a social-justice-oriented Cultural Exchange Program.
It was apparent then the direction that Olivia's journey would take -- away from Spencer. That was confirmed...

Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy have one of the strongest marriages in Hollywood, and Felicity's latest throwback photo proves it. She shared an adorable snap from the archives of William wrapping her in a tight embrace and captioned the photo, "I think acting with this guy is as good as being married to him. Been acting together since 1989. Married together since 1996. #fbf." Not every romance can withstand 20 years of marriage and working together, but these two are certainly an exception. The two actors have appeared in several films together, including Magnolia (1999), Reversible Errors (2004), and Rudderless (2014). Over the years, William and Felicity have walked many red carpets together and have packed on the Pda, and they still look more in love than ever.

Music movies have been a boon for Sundance in recent years. In 2014, the fest opened with Whiplash and closed with Rudderless. Sing Street also had a Sundance premiere, and last year featured Patti Cake$ and Roxanne Roxanne. Hearts Beat Loud got stuck in my head so I can’t wait until the film and its soundtrack come out this summer. Frank Fisher (Nick Offerman) is closing his record shop due to rising rents and dwindling sales. He discovers his daughter Sam (Kiersey Clemons)’s song “Hearts Beat Loud” and records it with her. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has expanded over the years, trying out different thematic masks like Captain America: Civil War‘s conspiracy thriller or Ant-Man‘s heist plot, while never straying too far from superhero genre archetypes. There’s always a hero, always a villain, always a few chatty sidekicks and a last-act throwdown; it’s not broke, so Marvel doesn’t appear too keen on fixing the formula anytime soon.
Runaways — the first McU project to debut on Hulu — is something similar, but also different. The show has the DNA of a superhero arc, with a gaggle of grumpy teens on the verge of discovering unknown powers at the same time that they discover they’re the offspring of maniacs, but it’s also unapologetically angsty. That’s probably unsurprising, given its creators, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, were the minds behind such...

"I want him!" "Not this time..." Vertical Entertainment and DirecTV have released the first foul-mouthed trailer for a comedy titled The Layover, directed by actor-turned-filmmaker William H. Macy (his second film after Rudderless a few years back). The spunky comedy stars Alexandra Daddario and Kate Upton as best friends who get stuck in St. Louis on an extended layover. Along the way they meet and fall for the same guy, played by Matt Barr, and end up battling for his affection. The full cast includes Matt Jones, Molly Shannon, Kal Penn, and Rob Corddry. This looks mildly entertaining, but also very cliche and generic, but I'm not surprised. Don't really think this is for me, but I'm sure some people will love it. Enjoy. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for William H. Macy's The Layover, direct from YouTube: When their airplane is rerouted due to a hurricane warning,...

Anton Yelchin’s tragic death Sunday came just three weeks before the 27-year-old actor was set to start shooting his directorial debut, “Travis,” which he also wrote.
The crime thriller was scheduled to start production on July 11 in what Yelchin called “the lonely landscape of the San Fernando Valley,” said his friend and collaborator Keith Kjarval, a producer on the movie. Callum Turner was set to play the title character alongside co-stars Alia Shawkat and Milla Jovovich. The film centered on an actor and amateur photographer who witnesses the murder of a young woman after following her back to her apartment.

I've been a fan of Anton Yelchin ever since I first saw him star alongside Anthony Hopkins in the 2001 big screen adaptation of Hearts in Atlantis. When I saw him in that film I remember saying to myself that this kid was going to be a big star. I loved him in that film, and since then I followed his career pretty closely. Everything he's done since has been top notch work.
Earlier today I learned that Yelchin had died in some kind of freak car accident, and it was a devastating blow. He was only 27 years old! He had an incredible life and career ahead of him and learning of his passing kind of hit me hard. I only met him once on a bus at the Sundance Film Festival, but he was a very nice and gracious individual.

Grant Gustin, who is best known for playing Barry Allen in CW’s The Flash, has just nabbed his very first movie role. He is set to star alongside Rosario Dawson in the William H. Macy-directed film Crystal.
The movie also stars Nick Robinson, Macy, Felicity Huffman, John Legiuzamo, Joe Manganiello, and Kathy Bates. The script was written by Will Aldis and it starts shooting next month in Atlanta.
I loved the last film Macy directed. It's called Rudderless, and if you haven’t seen it already you really need to check it out because it’s quite a powerful movie.
Dawson plays the title character in Crystal but there isn’t much information on the story. However, it was described in an interview with indiewire as “another indie, but this time, it's a comedy. A bust-out, slamming door farce comedy.”

Best known for his stumbling car salesman and poor choice of a husband in the Coen Bros’s Fargo, in his almost four decade career William H. Macy has seen his share of Park City red carpet treatment, including his directorial debut in 2014. While Rudderless might have been true to the film’s title, the filmmaker got right back into the saddle this past May for his sophomore project. What is being referred to as an American road trip sex comedy, despite some noteworthy comedic folk within this set of players (Alexandra Daddario, Kate Upton, Matt Barr, Matt L. Jones, Rob Corddry, Kal Penn, Molly Shannon) this doesn’t feel as Sundance-y as his previous effort.

William H. Macy, star of TV’s Shameless, is continuing to gear his future efforts toward directing. Most romantic comedies are pretty formulaic and predictable, but every now and then one comes along to shake things up a bit. I'm hoping that's the case with a new road trip sexy comedy called The Layover being produced by Unified Pictures and Bron Studios. Kate Upton (The Other Woman) and Lea Michele ("Glee") will star in the film about two lifelong best friends who decide to avoid their problems by taking a vacation only to find that their plane has been rerouted due to a hurricane warning. Things are made even more complicated when they both fall for the same gentleman at the airport they're stuck at in St. Louis. William H. Macy, fresh off directing Rudderless, is set to direct the film with a script from David Hornsby and Lance Krall, both of whom write for "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" (the former actually executive produces and co-stars occasionally as well.

It's a central tenet of independent films that most wounds can be healed simply by quitting your corporate job and picking up an acoustic guitar, and in many cases, that may be the case. Rudderless, though (William H. Macy's directorial debut), takes on a level of grief that would appear insurmountable, and applies to it a level of gravity more appropriate to a nasty breakup than a family-leveling tragedy.

William H. Macy recently won a Screen Actors Guild award for his role in Showtime’s Shameless, but after making his big-screen directorial debut on last year’s indie Rudderless, what he really wants to do is direct. The 64-year-old directed Shameless’s March 1 episode and spoke with Vulture about doing nude scenes, Sports Night, and whether he’s watched FX’s Fargo. How did it feel to win a SAG award for Shameless?Of all the awards, that one means the most to me because those are my peeps. I feel like we crossed some kind of a threshold. Shameless is a rough show, and it’s not for everyone, but it’s also beautiful. I’m hoping winning this SAG means some of my co-stars will start to get recognition, like Emmy Rossum. She’s been spectacular for five seasons, and it’s about time somebody gives her something made of metal.

The Stanford Prison Experiment
Directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez
Written by Tim Talbott
USA, 2015
Kyle Patrick Alvarez’s The Stanford Prison Experiment is a darkly comedic dramatization of a frightening real life experiment conducted in 1971 by Dr. Phillip Zimbardo. It spun wildly out of control over the course of just 5 days. Two dozen Ivy league men are drawn to the experiment for money. Screened for good mental health and randomly assigned positions as guards or prisoners, conformity is set to be examined under the the microscope in the basement of prestigious Stanford. The experiment starts out informally as they are given uniforms and plopped into their cells and guard rooms. It soon spirals into degrading mental abuse and physical deprivation. That this happened is not in question but how systematic torture ensued couldn’t have been anticipated.

Chicago – Actor William H. Macy’s directorial debut “Rudderless” is a film of open mic songwriting that tackles a recovery from grief with neat lyrics and easy metaphors. Instead of standing out, Macy has provided another sap’s ballad that has the cuteness of “Kumbaya”, one that aims to please the crowd without challenging emotions, only showing them.
Rating: 2.0/5.0
The film drifts on a performance from Crudup that isn’t so spectacular so much as the loudest instrument in the movie’s atmosphere. Crudup certainly acts as to how Macy directs, in an obvious way on a simple background. Fittingly, Crudup’s best moment is not anything during the movie when he is coming out of his shell, but his final performance towards the end of the film - a restrained moment that provides smoother catharsis and emotional recognition, without the obviousness.
Macy’s first endeavor behind the camera is memorable in the wrong ways.

Welcome back to This Week In Discs! If you see something you like, click on the title to buy it from Amazon. Rudderless Sam (Billy Crudup) is an advertising executive whose life comes to a halt when his son dies unexpectedly. Unable to face what happened he leaves his world behind and retreats to a blue collar job on a tranquil lake, but when his son’s belongings make their way to him he discovers several recordings of the teen’s own music. Slowly, Sam begins to find a connection with his dead son by playing the music at a local bar, but the lyrics attract the attention of another lost young man (Anton Yelchin) and soon Sam finds himself a popular part of the local music scene. William H. Macy’s feature directorial debut is a fantastically affecting look at grief, redemption and the willingness to admit when you don’t have all the answers. Crudup...

Deadbeat father. Quiz Kid Donnie Smith. 70's porn assistant director. Down-on-his luck car salesman who hires the wrong goons to kidnap his wife to collect some ransom money. These are some of the many prominent characters actor William H. Macy has played on screens big and little. Now he has something new to add to his prolific portfolio: filmmaker. Last year, his directorial debut Rudderless had its world premiere at the renowned Sundance Film Festival. It had a small theatrical run and tomorrow it's available on DVD. I reviewed it while at Sundance and recommend adding this film to your collection. Rudderless is a poignant and strangely inspiring movie about loss, pain, and bearing your heart to the world while coming apart at the...

With a trio of short films under his belt, Zachary Sluser hit indie film pay dirt with a measuring cup full of Sundance vets for his directorial debut. Starring Anton Yelchin, Zooey Deschanel, John Hawkes and supporting perfs from Alia Shawkat, Aubrey Plaza, Frank Langella and Ciaran Hinds, The Driftless Area wouldn’t be out of place at the fest as it is being tipped as a neo-noir dark romantic dramedy. Production began this past May in Vancouver, Canada with cinematographer Fjord Daniel Voldheim (Ragnarok) collaborating with a score supplied by Saunder Jurriaans & Daniel Bensi (Enemy).

Coverage of Isa’s (international sales agents) has resumed for The American Film Market. This segment follows leaders and innovation in the world of international film sales and distribution.
The trailblazing and accomplished Mimi Steinbauer started Radiant Films International over two and a half years ago and has been in the film business for over twenty years. She has played an essential role in the financing and sales for over 500 films, including the Academy Award nominated "Blue Valentine", Robert Rodriguez’s "Machete", "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy", "The Hurt Locker", "The Matrix", "Rush Hour 2", "The Notebook", and "Three Kings".
Mimi also served as the Vice President of Distribution at New Line Cinema, Sales and Distribution Consultant for Voltage Pictures, President of International Sales and Distribution at Franchise Pictures, and Head of International Television at Trimark Pictures.
Mimi shares her experience and talks more about Radiant's films at The American Film Market:
I was excited to start my own company. International Sales has changed over the years. If you’re in sales now, you’re involved in finding the product, closing financing, and then also doing sales. In doing all three of those things, it only makes sense to have my own company and be in charge of the product that I’m selling. That’s why I started Radiant.
I’ve been working in the film industry for 20 years - working for bigger companies like New Line Cinema and then smaller companies as well – and have been involved in finding the projects and dealing with sales. Starting Radiant was a natural step into doing my own thing.
What type of films are you looking for?
We're handling 16 titles. My intention is to carry six to eight films per year, so we’re pretty selective in what we pick up. Everything we’ve had so far has gone out theatrically, so that’s been our guideline - everything we work on is of theatrical quality.
For me, it’s important to understand the sales angle so I can sell it to the buyers, but it's also for the buyers so they can sell it to their local audiences.
Projects that I respond to have to be unique and interesting, because I feel like projects right now have to be massive in scope or something very enticing and special.
What are you showing at Afm?
Right now, we have "Rudderless" in cinemas, which is William H. Macy's directorial debut. It’s a beautiful musical drama about the power of a parent’s love.
We’re screening two complete films at Afm: "Madame Bovary" (with Mia Wasikowska and Paul Giamatti) and "Hungry Hearts", which won best actor and best actress at Venice.
We also will show film footage for the first time at Afm. One is "Take Down", a young adult action film, and "The Driftless Area", a romance/ thriller film.
Did you ever see yourself in International Film Sales?
I started in production in Austria, so I never saw myself in this world of international sales. I didn’t even know that it existed, and then I came to Los Angeles to do the Peter Stark program for producing at USC.
From there, I got into a production company that made a film based on rights that they owned - this brought them into the world of international sales, and it's how I got in: working on contracts and financing. It wasn’t the plan, but it’s a perfect fit because it’s speaks to my international background and interests. I love the idea of going to a film market and meeting with someone from a different culture every half hour. It's really amazing.
What inspires you in your work?
Many of the world's most interesting films come from independent cinema. I’m the first person to go out and see The Avengers movies – I love the big films - but independent film is incredibly important. There are amazing films and filmmakers out there, and it’s important to share their stories with audiences around the world.

Giving her fans some insight into her new single/video “The Heart Wants What It Wants,” Selena Gomez paid a visit to Ryan Seacrest's radio show on Thursday (November 6).
The “Rudderless” starlet described the process of capturing the raw conversation she had at the beginning of the clip with on/off boyfriend Justin Bieber- “They taped the mic underneath the table when I was shooting the video. And I had shot the video over a year ago. So, in that state — where I was in that place emotionally — I went in and I went into the room by myself, and I looked at the actual mirror in the music video, and I had a conversation [with] myself to every question I had in my mind in that moment: ‘Wow, this feeling changes everything and you can’t help it.'”
Gomez continued, “Everybody wants to form their own opinions anyway.

Chicago – Actor William H. Macy’s directorial debut “Rudderless” is a film of open mic songwriting that tackles a recovery from grief with neat lyrics and easy metaphors. Instead of standing out, Macy has provided another sap’s ballad that has the cuteness of “Kumbaya”, one that aims to please the crowd without challenging emotions, only presenting them.
Rating: 2.0/5.0
“Rudderless” is indeed the story of a man finding his direction, albeit through the music and lyrics of his late son Joshua (Miles Heizer). Two years after losing his son to a school shooting, disillusioned father and ex-husband Sam (Billy Crudup) lives alone on a boat that indeed does not have a rudder. He has abandoned his fancy corporate job to become a house painter. When his ex-wife Emily (Felicity Huffman) gives him the remaining items belonging to their son, Sam discovers a batch of demos made by Josh that no one has ever heard before.

Selena, is that you?!
Eat your heart out, Justin Bieber.
Though she's certainly no stranger to looking spectacular, Selena Gomez recently posed for quite possibly her sexiest photoshoot yet, rocking a black-and-white blazer and a lace-up bodysuit for photographer/filmmaker Asis Jerome.

The 22-year-old "Come & Get It" singer showed off the stunning photos on her Instagram Sunday.

Topping off her look with wet hair and dramatic eyeshadow, it's safe to say it would make one of her Wizards of Waverly Place co-stars very upset.
But though she might be sporting a much more mature look nowadays, Selena recently admitted that she's still "trying to figure out" who she is.

Never mind the other specialty films this weekend. It’s really all about Birdman (Or The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance) and its high-flying debut, averaging more than $100,000 per theater in its opening weekend.
The Venice/Telluride feature directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and starring Michael Keaton had one of the best bows of the year, exceeded only by another of distributor Fox Searchlight’s specialty projects, last spring’s The Grand Budapest Hotel (that one opened in four theaters with nearly $203K averages).
But there was plenty of success this weekend to go around. Roadside opened Sundance fave Dear White People with gusto. Gkids’ The Tale Of The Princess Kaguya, Rocky Mountain’s Got The Father and Tribeca’s Listen Up Philip also had solid to decent bows in limited release. And TWC’s St. Vincent and Spc’s Whiplash held strong in their second frame.
