Drew Barrymore’s children sometimes express interest in following her footsteps in the world of acting, but the actress says not until they are older. Barrymore’s daughters, Olive and Frankie, are 11 and 10, respectively.
“When I first had kids, I remember people asking me, ‘Well, would you want your kids to go into the business?’ And it always gave me such a sad feeling, as if this business was so toxic, like, ‘Ew’,” said the actress, reports people.com.
“And I just thought, that’s not how I feel about this business at all. It has given me every opportunity under the sun, and I couldn’t appreciate my life more.”
Barrymore, whose father, grandfather, great-grandparents, great-aunt, and uncle were all actors, got her first commercial at age 11 months and was cast in ‘E.T.’ at age 6, followed by films including ‘Firestarter’ and ‘Irreconcilable Differences’.

The First Omen releases in theaters on April 5th, 2024.
I don’t know to what extent The Omen (1976) is considered a classic, but the truth is that it was one of the most profitable films of its respective year, it has one of the most memorable scores of that decade – so much so that it even won an Oscar, something extremely rare considering the genre – and, of course, it spawned several sequels and even a remake over all these years. The First Omen is the sixth installment of the franchise and, as the title indicates, it’s a prequel to the original movie. It’s also the directorial debut of Arkasha Stevenson who also co-writes the screenplay along with Tim Smith and Keith Tomas (Firestarter).

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for FBI: International Season 3 Episode 6 “Fire Starter.”] Cameron Vo (Vinessa Vidotto) is now Scott Forrester’s (Luke Kleintank) number 2 on FBI: International, and it’s a learning curve for both of them. Take, for instance, the latest episode, in which he has to intervene when she’s (rightfully) upset about how the local police in the Czech Republic handle a sexual assault case (the legal definition of rape there isn’t met in this case and the victim is arrested for her reaction). As Scott reminds Vo throughout the episode, she’s now the number 2 on the team, if they push too hard, they can get kicked off the investigation, and she’s point on this because of her sexual assault advocacy experience from her army days, not to bring the hammer down on the local police. After wrapping the case, Vo tells Scott she’s learning on the fly, but he doesn’t ...

The Fly Team agents run into a bit of trouble during an attempt to do their jobs in an upcoming episode of FBI: International. In the March 26 episode “Fire Starter,” the team is called in to investigate when an American college student is arrested at a hostel in Prague for showing aggression toward local police who were dismissive of her sexual abuse claims. Also, Vo (Vinessa Vidotto) makes use of her sexual assault advocacy experience from her army days as they work to ensure the victim gets justice. TV Insider spoke with Vidotto about this upcoming episode, the challenges it poses to the Fly Team, Vo’s promotion, and her and Raines’ (Carter Redwood) relationship. I love that Vo was promoted, and she seems to have settled into the new role nicely, but how do you think she thinks that’s going? Vinessa Vidotto: Thank you for that, first of all.

1976's "The Omen" still holds a special place in the minds of most horror fans, introducing audiences to the adorable demon spawn known as Damien and subsequently rewriting genre rules for decades to come. It only took a couple of years for the original movie to get a (much less well-received) sequel, and there was even a full-fledged remake back in 2006, so it's not as if turning this property into a franchise is anything new. In a sense, maybe it was only a matter of time before even this untouchable classic ended up getting a prequel origin story of its own ... never mind the fact that the original had most of its backstory pretty much covered already. No matter — here comes the prequel "The First Omen"!
But what if we told you our hype for this prequel was increasing, and that's primarily due to the involvement of "Servant" star Nell Tiger Free...

John Carpenter has announced his new album, Lost Themes IV: Noir, a non-soundtrack release arriving May 3rd via Sacred Bones Records. To build anticipation, the filmmaker and composer has shared the lead single, “My Name Is Death,” and its accompanying music video. Stream it below.
The upcoming album reunites the horror master with his frequent collaborators, son Cody Carpenter and godson Daniel Davies. A follow-up to 2021’s Lost Themes III: Weeping Ghost, Noir promises to be unlike anything the trio has done before — a stylistic shift that enhances Carpenter’s signature atmospheric synth with a distinctly “noir” vibe.
The 10-track project is a tribute to the film noir genre, with songs inspired by some of Carpenter’s favorite films. Rather than recreating these old soundtracks, the album translates the haunting, dramatic orchestral scores of ’40s-era Hollywood pulp into Carpenter’s guitar-heavy synth soundscapes. “Some of the music is heavy guitar riffs,...

Drew Barrymore is a child of Hollywood royalty and a Golden Globe winning actress whose career has spanned nearly her entire life, making her first credited screen performance at the age of three. But how many of her titles remain classics? Let’s take a look back at 15 of her greatest films, ranked worst to best.
Barrymore was born to a celebrated acting family though she never really knew her famous ancestors. Her grandfather was John Barrymore, star of “Grand Hotel”, “Twentieth Century” and “Dinner at Eight” among others. She is also the great grand niece of Oscar winners Lionel Barrymore and Ethel Barrymore. Lionel won one of the earliest Oscars as Best Actor for “A Free Soul” in 1931 but is probably best remembered as the villainous Mr. Potter of the Christmas classic “It’s a Wonderful Life.” His sister Ethel won the 1945 Best Supporting Actress Oscar for “None but the Lonely Heart...

Intro: If there’s one word that perfectly sums up the bombastic nature of 80s action cinema, it has to be ‘excess’. Action behemoths, big hair, muscles, fantastical landscapes, and arm-wrestling matches that could be won by the simple flip of your favourite cap. It was an amazing decade for movies, and for action movie icons. Looking back on the early career of one of the era’s most iconic megastars, Arnold Schwarzenegger, there’s one thing that jumps out like doomed cannon-fodder from one of his movies; they were never dull. After having successfully conquered the world of bodybuilding, and subsequently the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, with career defining roles in Conan the Barbarian, Conan the Destroyer, The Terminator and Red Sonja, it’s clear that going bigger would be better for his career. Those movies highlighted how Arnie’s impressive physique could be utilised for maximum effect,...

Awards season is here, which means it is also time for the annual Golden Raspberry Awards. The Razzies, which aims to (dis)honor the least successful films of the year, has announced nominations for its 44th edition.
The most-nominated film is “Expend4bles,” the fourth entry in the action-packed, but critically underwhelming, “The Expendables” franchise. It received seven nominations. Tied for second place with five noms are “The Exorcist: Believer,” the revival of the classic horror series, and “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey,” a blood-soaked take on everyone’s favorite honey-loving bear. Two big-budget superhero movies, DC’s “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” and Marvel’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” both got four nominations.
Last year, Andrew Dominik’s “Blonde” led the competition with eight nominations, going on to bag the prize for worst picture. The group also felt compelled to issue an apology last year after nominating then-...

"Starsky & Hutch" actor David Soul passed away this week at the age of 80, leaving behind a legacy of memorable film and TV roles as well as a successful career as a soft rock musician. Soul's run on the stylish '70s detective series ended in 1979, but the performer continued working well into his golden years, most recently appearing in the 2013 film "Filth."
The man behind Detective Sergeant Kenneth "Hutch" Hutchison isn't the first "Starsky & Hutch" castmate to leave us — Captain Dobey actor Bernie Hamilton passed away in 2008. Two of the main leads of the action-packed cop series are still alive, and have packed their careers with interesting, varied, and popular on-screen projects. In 1976, audiences were introduced to Damien, a little kid with jet-black hair who may or may not be the Antichrist (spoiler: he is/was). In "The Omen," a diplomat (Gregory Peck) and his wife (Lee Remick) become the parents of a bouncing baby boy. But there's a twist: the diplomat is told that their actual baby died during childbirth. Rather than go home empty-handed, Peck's character is convinced to adopt another baby. He passes the child off as his own and neglects to tell his wife about the whole "our real kid died" thing. Men, am I right? Anyway, as it turns out, the child the couple welcomes into their home ends up being the spawn of Satan, and that could spell certain doom for us all.
"The Omen," which was helmed by "Superman" director Richard Donner, was a box office hit and has since become a horror classic.

There is not a more dependable movie genre in 2023 than horror. They can be made quickly and cheaply, starring up-and-coming teens and twenty-somethings, with the occasional appearance from a B-list (at most) actor whose presence lends the project a shred of credibility. They can also be released at any time of the year. In 2023, "M3GAN" cleaned up in January, "Scream VI" carved out a significant chunk of change in March, while the A24 sleeper hit "Talk to Me" entranced scare-seeking audiences throughout July and August.
Beginning with the release of "Paranormal Activity," Jason Blum and his Blumhouse Productions have been churning out durable franchises like "Insidious" and "The Purge," while taking chances on original visions from ambitious filmmakers like Jordan Peele ("Get Out") and Scott Derrickson ("The Black Phone"). Blumhouse has certainly produced its share of clunkers, but its batting average is Joe Dimaggio-esque. Rather than swing for the fences,...

It was a very crowded holiday weekend at the box office, with Disney's "Wish" and director Ridley Scott's "Napoleon" taking the lion's share of attention, while Lionsgate's "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" ended up topping the charts for a second weekend in a row in a surprise upset. While all of that was going on, Blumhouse's smash horror hit "Five Nights at Freddy's" quietly became the studio's biggest hit ever. Yes, as hard as it may be to believe, the video game adaptation now stands alone as the biggest of big hits from a studio that has delivered a great many hits over the last decade.
Director Emma Tammi's "Freddy's" managed to hold onto a spot in the top 10 over the Thanksgiving weekend, landing at number nine on the charts and taking in another $1.75 million domestically in its fifth frame. With that, the...

In Cyberpunk 2077, Iconic weapons are some of the strongest items you can acquire as you make your way up Night City’s criminal underbelly. These firearms, swords, and clubs are more powerful than most other items and usually sport unique perks that set them apart even further. Since Phantom Liberty introduces a brand new area to explore, complete with more missions, this Dlc also packs quite a few new Iconic weapons.
Of course, Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG that lets players decide how to approach different challenges with unique character builds, so not every iconic weapon will gel with every player. Some gamers will gravitate towards an assault rifle that makes enemies explode into pools of acid, others will find themselves drawn to a machete that lights opponents on fire. Several players might even find themselves swinging around a mundane crowbar because it’s a Half-Life reference. Still, almost every new...

Evil, as conceived by Stephen King, is an inexorable force as old as the world itself. It exists in countless forms, some of which can be staved off for a time but none of which can be extinguished permanently. It’s as much a part of the earth as it is a part of us, and it persists in a way none of us can or will.
The best adaptations of King’s work get under the skin as they force you to reckon with such ideas, staying with you in much the same way his books do. “Pet Sematary: Bloodlines” is not one of those adaptations. On a scale from “Thinner” to “The Shining,” it falls in the bottom half alongside the likes of last year’s “Firestarter” remake. “Who asked for this?” is the question such projects invoke, and Lindsey Anderson Beer’s film never comes up with a satisfying answer.

Just as the titular 1958 Plymouth Fury took on a life of its own, so too will the upcoming remake of Christine. But that’s just fine by director John Carpenter, who is casually optimistic about the project – at least compared to his own experiences making the original.
When the topic of the Christine remake was brought up during an interview with Total Film, Carpenter said, “Oh boy…Well, good luck to him. It will probably be better.” Carpenter has never exactly been enthusiastic about the 1983 movie, having always considered Christine more of a for-hire flick since he was on the rebound from The Thing. “I needed a job, frankly…The Thing was my very first studio film. I was just diving in the pool here, and all of a sudden, Wham. And getting fired off a movie is not the most pleasant thing,” he added, referring to another Stephen King adaptation he was tied to,...

In an upcoming video, we will be looking at the modern genre classic Vfw. I say genre because while my wife astutely pointed out that the drugged-up gang in Vfw kind of act like rage zombies and the movie has that great over the top gore and characters, its not really horror. Its gritty action like the movie that inspires it, Assault on Precinct 13. Genre encompasses multiple things like horror, exploitation, and any other type of movie that just has that feel to it. While today’s movie isn’t horror, though it does have situations that would be scary in real life, it is genre. It’s school-ploitation at its finest and has a pedigree both in front...

John Carpenter is back.
He doesn’t have a new movie, but he does have a new album, which might be just as exciting. “Anthology II: Movie Themes 1976 – 1988,” is a follow-up to his 2017 album “Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998” and was once again recorded with his constant musical collaborators, son Cody Carpenter and godson Daniel Davies.
They take classic moments from his earlier scores and rearrange them with modern instrumentation and additional flourishes. It is out on Oct. 6 from Sacred Bones.
But what makes “Anthology II” particularly thrilling is that it contains three unreleased tracks from “The Thing” that were recorded by Carpenter before he hired Ennio Morricone to work on the movie. There are still a bunch of Carpenter cues in the finished version of “The Thing,” with Morricone using some of his unreleased music from the 1982 film (recently named the second-greatest movie of that decade by IndieWire) for Quentin Tarantino...
