Rick Grimes: [Rick tells the group that whoever stays that it's not a democracy anymore] Maybe you people are better off without me. Go ahead. I say there's a place for us, but maybe... maybe it's just another pipe dream. Maybe... maybe I'm fooling myself again. Why don't you... Why don't you go and find out yourself? Send me a postcard. Go on, there's the door. You can do better? Let's see how far you get.
Rick Grimes: [the group remains silent] No takers? Fine. But get one thing straight... you're staying. This isn't a democracy anymore.

I just thought he had something a little different on his mind.
A horde of zombies lay siege to the farm and chaos ensues.
This is grandstand finish to the second series with plenty of excitement, excellent visuals and some strong character moments.
I won't say much more about the plot, only that it works as well as it possibly can in the situation and makes me want to find out what happens next.
Rick has the best episode in terms of character development. He is shown to abandon certain attributes of his character in favour of a different approach to the group's survival. It is in keeping with the theme of a broken society back to its primal state and the power struggle emerging from within this particular group. Rick has often been presented as one of the strongest individuals who others look to for survival. As some of the significant challenges to his authority were removed in the previous two episodes, this appears to show a turning point and the emergence of an absolute leader.
Visually it is probably the best of the show so far. It's starts off with a great alternative perspective of something that happened previously and goes from one superbly filmed and edited sequence to the next. The burning barn is fantastic and one chase through the woods is also great.
All actors are on great form especially Andrew Lincoln, Laurie Holden, and Scott Wilson.
