You know, Dean Cain really doesn’t get enough credit. Not only is he one of the hardest working men in showbiz, with no fewer than a half-dozen TV movies every year, but his Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993-1997) anticipated pop culture’s current superhero obsession. Tonight, he plays a different kind of hero on Gmc’s A Mile in His Shoes, an intimate drama about a minor league baseball manager who recruits and mentors a young man named Mickey Tussler (Luke Schroder), who has Asperger’s Syndrome—and a killer fastball. It’s the kind of...

The Dog Who Saved Halloween is the third installment in the “Dog Who Saved” DVD franchise. The first was 2009’s The Dog Who Saved Christmas. That was followed last year with The Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation. I assume next year’s sequel will be The Dog Who Saved Halloween Vacation.
I’m most looking forward to The Dog Who Saved International Talk Like a Pirate Day, which they should get around to by 2023.
Anchor Bay is getting the jump on the holiday in a big way by releasing The Dog Who Saved Halloween on DVD September 13th. Before any of you gorehounds outright dismiss this family friendly cute animal holiday flick, keep in mind three things:
1) Lance Henriksen appears in the film and he’s not the sort to show up in any old cheap piece of crap.
2) It also co-stars Revenge of the Nerds’ very own Curtis “Booger” Armstrong.

MPAA logo The MPAA just handed back their judgement on a variety of horror films. From the family friendly - The Dog Who Saved Halloween, starring genre vet Lance Henriksen (Pumpkinhead), to the gleefully tastleless, The Woman (Angela Bettis), there was a little bit of everything.
Atrocious Atrocious is Rated R for grisly images and language throughout.

The Dog Who Saved Halloween I have to say that I love horror movies. Of course, that means I love Halloween as well! It's like Christmas for me. Also, I have to say I really love family movies as well. So when a film comes around that combines all three, I am in heaven. Sure, these types of films are usually as corny as all get out, but that's what I love about them! Years past saw films such as Monster Makers starring scream queen Linda Blair, Monster Night starring Matthew Lawrence or The Haunting Hour: Don't Think About It featuring Tobin Bell. This year we get "The Dog Who Saved Halloween"! Of course it comes complete with the exact type of cast you would expect of this type film: Gary Valentine (The King of Queens), Dean Cain (The Broken Hearts Club), Elisa Donovan (Clueless), Lance Henriksen (Pumpkinhead), Joseph Lawrence...

It's gotta suck ass playing Superman. It's the Madden curse of the comic-book superhero world. George Reeves, the original Man of Steel, decided to swallow some prompting the very first unoriginal meme tackiness of making "faster than a speeding bullet" jokes, a tragedy only to be surpassed by the agonizing demise of Christopher Reeve. While Dean Cain hasn't quite suffered physical "slings and arrows," metaphorically, his career has been wallowing in ignominy. Granted, our man Clark's been working steady -- but in the likes of the made for TV Gentle Ben movie and its sequel and the forthcoming Halloween Dog. The latest Ka-Lel (with due respect to Henry Cavill who has yet to don the S) is Brandon Routh, and honestly, I wouldn't know what to do with his career either. After the excreble Superman Returns, Routh's been kind of bobbing aimlessly adrift, popping up in "Chuck" or the occasional...
