In Surly Squirrel (2005), the original short movie about the rivalry between Raccoon and his followers against Surly and Buddy, Raccoon's team are depicted as the "good" side. In this feature length adaptation, this is reversed.
Will Arnett's 7th animated film, after Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006), Ratatouille (2007), Horton Hears a Who! (2008), Monsters vs. Aliens (2009), Despicable Me (2010), and the English version of The Secret World of Arrietty (2010).
When the spy has a newspaper with a hole in it to look through, you can closely see that there is a un-formatted version of the script on the newspaper, with words such as "it pans to Surly Squirrel," or "Luck's shin gets kicked."
