The Black Keys are howlin' mad. The Ohio duo is suing Pinnacle Entertainment for allegedly using their song "Howlin' for You" in commercials for two of the company's casinos in Louisiana, Rolling Stone reports. The lawsuit was filed in New York federal court and also names Manhattan Production Music, which makes music for commercial advertising. According to the report, the Black Keys allege that music "substantially similar" to "Howlin' for You" was featured in a spot for the L'Auberge Casino. The suit also claims Pinnacle used "infringing music" in a commercial for another casino. Last November, the Black Keys settled its lawsuits against Pizza...

New York — The Black Keys are remaining vigilant when it comes to sound-a-like songs.
The Nashville duo is suing Pinnacle Entertainment in New York federal court. Drummer Patrick Carney and singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach say the casino owner commissioned a song that sounds like their hit "Howlin' For You" for a commercial advertising two of its Louisiana properties. They are asking a judge for an injunction and compensation.
"The experts confirmed that this was copyright infringement," the band said in a statement Wednesday to The Associated Press.
The Keys recently settled lawsuits against Pizza Hut and Home Depot over similar charges of copying the songs "Lonely Boy" and "Gold on the Ceiling." Terms of those settlements were not released.
The Keys are up for five trophies at next month's Grammy Awards and Auerbach also has been nominated for producer of the year.

In 2007 writer/directors Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez tried to bring back the classic drive-in grindhouse style with their movie Grindhouse. Sadly, this didn't turn out so great in terms of box office numbers, as the movie only managed to bring in $25 million during its 11 week run. But a cultural impact was definitely made. There have been spin-offs, of sorts, such as Machete and Hobo With A Shotgun, and Rodriguez has already completed filming a Machete sequel, Machete Kills. Musicians have also taken a liking to the style, with bands like Queens of the Stone Age and The Black Keys using it for music videos like "3's and 7's" and "Howlin' For You," respectively. And now director Paul Schrader and writer Bret Easton Ellis have brought a touch of grindhouse to the advertising for their new film The Canyons. Premiering over at the movie's official Facebook page, the trailer highlights...

Rob was spotted on Sunday Sept. 30, enjoying a private concert by The Black Keys at the Sayers Club in Hollywood, CA! See the pic and read on for more details. One lucky fan met Robert Pattinson at The Black Keys concert on Sept. 30, where the Twilight hunk allegedly arrived with a group of male friends -- not Kristen Stewart. La Times reported Matt Donnelly tweeted, "At the Black Keys show at Sayers, Rob Pattinson just rolled in with a group of male pals. No KStew y'all. But I believe he's with Dominic Cooper. Will confirm, it's very dark. Just chilling everyone is waiting for the set to start." Described as "Hollywood's classiest lounge," The Sayer Club is a secret L.A. hotspot hidden inside a hot dog shack! Inside the shack, to the left of the counter, you'll find a yellow door. There’s no password, but there is a list,...

MTV News spots a red velvet wall on the set that reminds us of the erotic trilogy — a sign of things to come on Sunday?

Universal City, California — Something strange is happening on the MTV Movie Awards set. While scoping out what was supposed to be a rehearsal for Fun., we saw some workers rolling in ... giant red plush walls?
It looks a bit suspicious, if you ask us. Maybe it's just because we have "Fifty Shades of Grey" on the mind, but our first thought when we saw the set piece was that it was a wall from a giant velvet sex room. And considering the Movie Awards' track record of crazy epic stunts, we wouldn't put it past anyone here.
Of course, it could just be part of a normal set.

With music videos like those for "Howlin' for You," "Lonely Boy" and "Tighten Up" -- and, really, their interviews -- the Black Keys obviously have a pretty keen sense of humor, about themselves and the biz on the whole. Maybe that's why film director Noah Abrams is describing a forthcoming documentary on the duo to be a "buddy comedy." The as-yet-untitled effort will collect footage through August this year, but will be ready in time for festival season in 2013. Abrams told Spin that the doc is "a buddy comedy with perhaps the greatest soundtrack of all time... A lot of...

This is part 1 of 4 of our "My Coachella" Series. Check back once a week in April for profiles on our favorite Coachella bands.
The Black Keys graced the cover of Rolling Stone for the first time this year with the headline, "Black Keys Rising," but fans with the most street cred know that singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney have been making some of the best music out there for years. The Akron, Ohio duo has most certainly brought the blues back.
Their whistle-while-you-go, soulful hit "Tighten Up" from the critically acclaimed 2010 album Brothers propelled the band out of underground clubs and into mainstream music. And the hits just keep on coming.
El Camino, their most recent album, was immediately ranked one of the best of 2011 for its soulful mix of blues, rock and hyper-personal lyrics -- and despite a black out at their performance at last year's Coachella Music Festival,...

Band shakes up Germany's capital on Saturday night with blistering sold-out show.

Berlin — The Black Keys are not a particularly verbose band; they are, however, an incredibly voluminous one.
That lesson was learned during their blistering sold-out show Saturday in Germany's capital city, which was short on between-song banter — frontman Dan Auerbach offered just a few "All right, thank you so much"s and drummer Patrick Carney was basically mute (though he is pretty funny on Twitter) — and long on the kind of smash-n-bash blues/garage/soul that has become the Keys' near-patented racket.
Drawing heavily from their breakout Brothers album and the equally successful El Camino, the duo, aided by backing band for extra oomph, tore through 90-plus minutes of sweaty, snarling stuff, a full-bore workout for their triumphant run of U.

Chuck vs. the Music: Five Seasons of Great Tracks
The final episode of Chuck airs this Friday and this is an impressive achievement considering how close it came to cancellation during this period. Chuck clearly has a rabid fan base that has shown their devotion which led to this 5-year run. The Subway campaign was a good way to prove that despite low audience figures this show was worth keeping on the air and I definitely bought a sandwich or two.
For me though it would be far easier to measure my love for this show by the amount of tracks on iTunes that I have purchased after hearing them first on Chuck and I’m sure I’m not the only one. For some it is the pop culture references that made Chuck the charming show it is, for others it is the characters and while these two factors are incredibly important,...

It's finally Vma time, guys! Going into the ceremony, held tonight in Los Angeles, Katy Perry led the nominations with 10, though the candy-coated pop tart wouldn't be taking the stage to perform one of her recent 5 #1 hits. There were tributes planned to Amy Winehouse and Britney Spears, while there wouldn't be a host for the third time in the show's history.
With all the theatrical performances, surprise guests, and out there fashion, one question remained: who would take home the gold (err, silver)?
Perry took home 3 of her 10 nominations, including the coveted Video of the Year for "Firework", but it was Adele that led the night with 4 wins. The talented Brit scored big in the professional categories, winning for Direction, Art Direction, Cinematography, and Editing. Lady Gaga was the only other artist to pick up more than one award, collecting two moonmen for her #1 hit "Born This Way". Other winners included Britney Spears,...

Earlier this week, we tried our hand at picking the winners for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, but with the big show just around the corner -- airing live from Los Angeles this Sunday at 9 p.m. — we figured it was time to let the pros have their say.
We reached out to the folks at the Bodog Sportsbook to get their take on Sunday's show ... and, as it turns out, much like us, they see it being a big night for Katy Perry. But it definitely won't be a clean sweep for the California Gurl; they also like Justin Bieber's and Lady Gaga's chances too.
So here, for your wagering pleasure, are Bodog's odds for the 2011 VMAs. Remember, it's only considered a "gambling problem" if you lose.

Following closely behind her are the likes of Adele, Kanye West and Bruno Mars, but really, all eyes will be on Perry. Will she take home her first-ever Moonman? Will she sweep the night's major categories? And, most importantly of all, what color will her hair be?

Todd Bridges Receives Knighthood Hopefully everyone has heard The Black Keys latest album Brothers by now. Released last May, the sixth album from this rock duo was something of a breakthrough for them, appearing on countless year end lists as well as in countless commercials. The Black Keys have just released a new video for their song "Howlin' For You," off their killer sixth album, Brothers. The tongue-in-cheek video is done in the style of a Tarantino-Rodriguez movie trailer, and centers around Tricia Helfer's sexy assassin with a troubled past. ("She'll bang ya, but then she'll hang ya.") Decidedly-not-a-list cameos are provided by Shaun White, Corbin Bernsen, and, yes he's still alive, "Sir" Todd Bridges.
