A24 has revealed the second trailer for Ti West's highly-anticipated horror thriller MaXXXine, the third film in his trilogy starring the inimitable Mia Goth as the character Pearl and/or Maxine. Opening in theaters in early July – just one month from now. This is going to be wild & crazy & brutal! In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx finally gets her big break. As a mysterious killer stalks the starlets of Hollywood, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past. In addition to Mia Goth as Maxine, this also co-stars Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, Halsey, Giancarlo Esposito, & Kevin Bacon. The CW Network has given a 13-episode Season 7 renewal to its flagship drama series All American to premiere in 2025. Additionally, the network today announced pickups for Season 11 of unscripted magic competition series Penn & Teller: Fool Us and Season 4 of The Chosen.
The All American news is not surprising since, as Deadline reported, the college drama had been in the strongest position of any remaining legacy CW scripted series to continue.
All American, whose Season 6 renewal was stipulated in Nexstar’s deal to acquire the CW, is a top ratings performer, and it also is the most economically feasible to produce for its studio, Warner Bros. TV, as its license fee, believed to be north of $1M per episode, is the highest among all 3 “old CW” dramas that were up for renewal this year.

One of the more surprising elements of The CW’s fall schedule unveiled last month was that there was no room for Penn & Teller: Fool Us – one of the longest-running anchors of the network’s unscripted slate.
That’s changed now as the network has renewed the show for Season 11.
It is one of a handful of renewals at the network; The CW also picked up All American for a seventh season and dated season four of religious drama The Chosen.
The magic competition show is centered around the legendary duo, who invite aspiring magicians are invited to perform their best trick to try and fool them. Anyone who succeeds wins the right to perform with Penn & Teller in their show at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Penn & Teller see the trick only once and have to immediately try to work it out.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile wasn’t an instant success as fans addressed a lot of issues that the developers might take into account. But it’s coming along. Players may curse the blurry graphics or technical glitches hindering the gameplay, but in-game features are being fitted to ease the pain that the game initially delivered.
It shares a cross-progression, which allows players to sync their content with other games in the franchise. So far, whatever the developers are trying to implement in the game seems to be up to the blind alley, as reports suggest player engagement is down by a good chunk already. The new feature they are adding has to work, or the game will likely be in grave danger.
If That is True, There’s No Running from Destiny This Time

The CW’s transformation under new owners Nexstar is almost complete, with only two pre-merger series, the final season of Superman & Lois and veteran improv comedy Whose Line It Is Anyway?, on the network’s fall schedule. Even Kristin Scott Thomas can’t save this painful French comedy about two older women heading for the Greek islands for wacky fun
Marc Fitoussi, whose directing credits include work on the French TV hit Call My Agent!, has created this excruciatingly sugary French comedy of female friendship in a vacation paradise. It’s a one-note, one-joke, non-Mamma-Mia! the non-musical, with three lead performances that are borderline insufferable.
Olivia Côte plays Blandine, a straitlaced, sobersided woman whose life is miserable; she’s divorced from a man who is now marrying someone half his age and her 20-year-old son is moving out. But then she reconnects with an old schoolfriend, the wild and irrepressible Magalie (Laure Calamy) who suggests they do something they once dreamed of as kids: visit the Greek island of Amorgos, because it was featured in Luc Besson’s The Big Blue, their favourite film from those days.

Looking back at Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 crime thriller Pulp Fiction we can all agree that the casting of John Travolta, Uma Thurman, and Bruce Willis was top-notch, alongside the impeccable storyline. But what if we say, Willis was never on Tarantino’s long list of potential actors for the role of Butch Coolidge.
Nicolas Cage in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022)
According to reports, Quentin Tarantino suggested Sean Penn, Nicolas Cage, and Johnny Depp, for the iconic role. Suggesting a lengthy list of names ahead of casting, Tarantino wanted to star the above-mentioned A-listers in his crime thriller over Bruce Willis. But things worked in favor of the Die Hard star, as he eventually appeared alongside Uma Thurman’s Mia.

There's something so carefully and deliberately old school about "The Fall Guy," director David Leitch's blockbuster take on the television show of the same name, that allows it to feel revolutionary. Like a cry from another era, this is a major motion picture built on the hope that audiences will want to see a cast of attractive, charming, interesting actors bounce off each other on screen, trading barbs and dashing looks. There's no franchise-building here, and no ambitions beyond offering the audience primal, pure pleasures.
Do you want to watch Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt be funny and badass? Do you want to watch them fall in love and save the day? Do you want an entire movie to be constructed around the mere fact that these beautiful, massively talented people ignite the screen whenever they're sharing the frame? For the fourth consecutive year, we’ve got a firecracker of a Best Actress Oscar race. Lily Gladstone took home the Screen Actors Guild Award on Saturday for “Killers of the Flower Moon” over Emma Stone, who had been on a roll since the two won their respective Golden Globes, having pocketed the Critics Choice and BAFTA Awards for “Poor Things.” Now they each have an industry prize and Best Actress feels like a coin-flip. Gladstone has closed the gap on Stone in the Oscar odds since Saturday. Don’t be surprised if she overtakes the top spot soon. But when the SAG Awards and BAFTAs don’t align in Best Actress, which one has the edge at the Oscars?
Since BAFTA became an Oscar precursor 23 years ago, the Brits and the actors guilds have disagreed 13 times in the category prior to the Battle of the Stones. But not all splits are created equally.

American Fiction outperformed expectations by landing three nominations, including best ensemble, while the edgy May December and Saltburn and a trio of non-English-language contenders — Past Lives, Anatomy of a Fall and The Zone of Interest — were completely shut out, and Killers of the Flower Moon’s Leonardo DiCaprio was passed over, when SAG-AFTRA announced the nominees for its 2024 SAG Awards on Wednesday morning.
Does any of this matter for those with Oscar nominations on their mind?
SAG Awards film nominations are determined by the vote of a nominating committee comprising 2,500 randomly selected members of the roughly 160,000-member guild. As a result, SAG Award nominees tend to be more populist but less international than the eventual selections of the actors branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (whose own nomination voting will begin Thursday and runs through next Tuesday).

Myke Towers has positioned himself as one of the top Latin rappers and reggaetoneros. With his fourth album, Lveu: Vive La Tuya…No La Mía, the Puerto Rican artist proves that he’s an all-around Latin pop star. Towers finds a happy medium between the rap and perreo of his previous albums while pushing his music into exciting, unexpected territory. On top of that, he pulls it all off alone without assists from feature acts.
With his 2021 LP Lyke Mike, Towers established himself as a Latin rap phenom. His follow-up,...

Actor Amanda Seyfried credited Mean Girls for giving her career a boost. But Mamma Mia was the movie she felt truly made her a star.
How ‘Mamma Mia’ helped Amanda Seyfried’s film career more than ‘Mean Girls’ Amanda Seyfried | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Seyfried felt she enjoyed some nice exposure for Mean Girls. But she didn’t believe her presence was truly felt in the film industry until she did Mamma Mia. The feature was a musical that saw Seyfried play Meryl Streep’s daughter, and is one of Seyfried’s biggest blockbuster hits. According to The Numbers, it earned $695.5 million at the box-office.
Given its huge viewership, it perhaps reintroduced Seyfried to a much broader audience than perhaps even Mean Girls could reach. So it’s easy to see why the actor saw Mamma Mia as her true breakthrough role.

“The Real Housewives of Potomac” star Mia Thornton has separated from her husband Gordon Thornton after 11 years of marriage and with two children.
“Like all marriages, ours has had its ups and downs,” Thornton said, per media outlets. “At this time, Gordon and I are separated, but my family is my number one priority, and I am committed to doing whatever it takes to make sure we are Ok.”
Thornton made her first debut on “Rhop” in its sixth season, bringing along her family, which has been heavily featured on the show. Outside of their son Jeremiah Carter, 8, and daughter, Juliana, 6, they each have one child from previous relationships.
The two met back in 2003 during a strip club charity event. In March 2012 the two got hitched and went into business together through The Joint Chiropractic Franchise. The news of their romance dwindling was also just featured in a trailer for “Rhop” Season 8.

A new oral history on “Mamma Mia!” from Vogue magazine ends with the cast and crew all in support of making a third installment in the Universal Pictures franchise, which kicked off in 2008 with a film adaptation of the musical and continued in 2018 with “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.” Combined, the two musical films grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.
“Universal would love to make a third movie, and I’ll leave it at that,” Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley said point blank when the discussion turned to a potential “Mamma Mia 3.”
Amanda Seyfried, who leads the franchise as Sophie, added, “I dare you to show me one person who doesn’t want a third Mamma Mia!” But she also cast a bit of a doubt on a third movie since, according to her, its existence would most likely depend on Universal paying the cast what they are worth,...

Taffy Brodesser-Akner knows something about love.
And men and women, and why they fall in and out of love.
It’s no wonder why her debut novel, Fleishman Is in Trouble became an immediate New York Times Bestseller, as well as a notch on the National Book Award longlist, resonating with many. Now, Fleishman Is in Trouble is a 7x Primetime Emmy nominated FX series.
Similar to the 4x Oscar winning movie Annie Hall, Fleishman Is in Trouble is a deconstruction of how a great relationship goes very wrong. Part of the blame goes to those couples who are managing their egos, as they head into the middle ages of middle age.
Across eight episodes, the FX/ABC Signature limited series is laden with a plethora of wisdom as to why the sacred institution of marriage goes unholy: “People aren’t having affairs because they’re betraying their spouse, rather...

Charles Martinet, the iconic voice of Mario for more than three decades, is “stepping back from recording character voices” for Nintendo as he transitions into a new role.
Now a “Mario Ambassador,” Martinet will travel the world and interact with fans on behalf of the gaming company.
Martinet is not involved in the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Wonder game, out Oct. 20 on Nintendo Switch. “While Charles is not involved in the game, we’re excited to honor his legacy and contributions, including looking ahead to what he’ll be doing as a Mario Ambassador,” Nintendo said in a statement to Variety.
Martinet started at Nintendo in 1991, and his first major performance as the mustachioed plumber was in 1996’s Super Mario 64, the landmark 3D platformer that introduced much of the world to Mario’s enthusiastic Italian intonation.

Drake and Bad Bunny are teaming up once again. During the 36-year-old rapper's Los Angeles stop of his It's All a Blur tour on Sunday night, Drake announced that he and the 29-year-old Puerto Rican superstar have a new song on the way. At the show, which Bad Bunny attended with rumored girlfriend Kendall Jenner, Drake told the crowd, "It's been like six years since me and Benito did a song, so we got a song coming for y'all on my album," per a fan video shared on Twitter.
Drake and Bad Bunny previously joined forces for their 2018 hit song, "Mia." The title of their new collaboration is still unknown, but Drake's album, "For All the Dogs," is set to drop very soon. During the third Barclays Center show of his tour in late July, Drake told fans, "I got an album coming in, like, I don't know... A couple...

Hey, "Tough As Nails" fans. We hope you guys totally enjoyed the heck out of tonight's episode 10 of Tough As Nails, especially since it was indeed the last one of this current season 5 and possibly forever. However, we do doubt that, but we do have to tell you that we don't currently have official confirmation from CBS on whether they plan to give Tough As Nails a new season 6 order. Again, we think CBS will probably get around to renewing Tough As Nails for a new season 6, and they just haven't gotten around to it yet. Given this current landscape of a writers and actors strike, CBS will need as many reality shows as they can get to fill in for all the scripted shows that will be Mia (Missing In Action) as a result of the strikes. We did gather up some Tough As Nails season 5 performance numbers for...

Bad Bunny is a singer and rapper from Puerto Rico. He first became popular on Soundcloud and then got more famous with two songs in 2018. These songs were “I Like It” with Cardi B and “Mia” with Drake. After that, he made four albums that were well-received. Two of these albums were number one on the Billboard 200; even more, he has been nominated for six Grammy awards and won two. In 2021, his album Yhlqmdlg won a Grammy for the best Latin pop or urban album. The next year, his album El Último Tour Del Mundo won a...

Nanni Moretti returns to the film-within-a-film format with a fitfully funny new comedy that, this time, offers two films-within-a-film (plus a surreal dream sequence). It is, frankly, a relief after 2021’s terrible, soapy melodrama Three Floors, and, at a crisp 96 minutes, so much easier to swallow. In some ways a companion piece to 2015’s Mia Madre, it finds the director putting all his neuroses back on show, pontificating on everything from movie violence to streaming platforms and why wearing slippers onscreen is a fashion no-no that can only be pulled off by Aretha Franklin in The Blues Brothers.
As is usual in Moretti’s self-reflexive pieces, the main film being made within the film is the kind of film that no director would ever make and that no modern audience would ever pay to see. Set in 1956, it sees Hungary’s Budavari Circus arriving in Rome’s Quarticciolo area, escaping the Soviet invasion of Budapest.

A week after Haley Pullos announced that she was temporarily stepping away from General Hospital due to an “automobile accident,” new information is painting a different picture of her exit.
According to a new report from TMZ, the April 29 accident — in which Pullos’ car jumped over a Pasadena freeway barrier into oncoming traffic, leading to a head-on collision with another car — ended with the actress being arrested for felony DUI at the hospital. Edibles and mini bottles of tequila were reportedly found in her car by police, who determined that Pullos had been driving under the influence.

Exclusive: Summer’s going to be a scorcher in London. Tarantino Live: Fox Force Five & the Tyranny of Evil Men is coming to town in June.
The cabaret-style stage show, a huge hit in Los Angeles where it’s still running after 13 years, heads to the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith from June 6 for a 10-week season through August 13.
Definitely fair to point out that there are as many Tarantino aficionados here in Blighty as there are in Tarantino’s manor in LA. Spend any time in the less trendy parts of Hackney in East London or across the river in Peckham and you’ll hear teens discuss their attire or their fast-food snacks while referencing a line from a Tarantino movie. Some of these kids weren’t born when some of these movies first came out yet they know them. They know them scene-by-scene, line-by-line. They’ll be queueing, in an orderly fashion,...

Chop off your possessed hands and break out the chainsaws: the Evil Dead series is back. The legendary horror (and sometimes comedy-horror) series is returning with Evil Dead Rise, presenting an all-new take on the Deadites and the Necronomicon from incoming director Lee Cronin back as the perennially-unfortunate Ash. Groovy.
While the Ash Vs Evil Dead TV series brought the character to the small screen between 2015 and 2018, Campbell and Raimi last hacked, slashed, and boomsticked their way through hordes of primitive screwheads on the big screen in 1993’s Army Of Darkness. Fede Álvarez’s 2013 Evil Dead reboot stayed away from Ash’s story – through he popped up in a post-credits sequence – but there were plans for the two stories to be brought together, with thoughts for a film that involved both Ash and the reboot’s Mia. “That character, Mia, was great, so I was very interested,” Raimi tells Empire,...
