- Open with Spencer back at the pawnshop with money to buy back Melissa's ring. Out back the girls talk about Melissa and what she got the other night from Wren Emily says Pam couldn't be happier since getting the (fake) letter from the college scout. The pawnshop guy (who we know already sold the ring to A) tries to give Spencer a horseshoe for her $2,000. When she says that wasn't what he sold to her, he challenges her to call the cops. Outside all three girls get a text message from A: "Just my luck, diamonds are a girl's best friend."
It seems like things with Aria's parents are getting back to normal, though Mike doesn't seem to be handling it all that well. Ella reiterates to Aria that they're only keeping them from their friends in their best interests. This is Ella's first day as a full-time teacher and (of course) she is taking over Ezra's class.
Spencer catches Melissa with Ian's passport. She's making an insurance claim on her ring.
Tells Hanna she and father think it's a good idea for her to take a solo therapy session.

Hanna and Caleb talk about the double date with Lucas. Hanna eventually agrees to go, though she stops short of calling it a date.
At the hospital Spencer talks to Wren about what he gave to Melissa. He says it's "complicated." After she says Ian tried to kill her he tells her that Melissa won't tell him where Ian is, but that it is someplace outside of Rosewood. Wren feels responsible for her going back to Ian. Spencer asks him to help her find Ian, but he says no.
Hanna starts the therapy session by not speaking. Dr. Sullivan tells Hanna she can help her "let go." She talks about Alison and moving past the feeling of loss. She wants her to pretend Alison is sitting there and tell her what she feels. Hanna doesn't bite and immediately leaves.
Aria can't find Mike at the park. One of his friends says that Mike hasn't been playing there for the past few months, despite telling his family. Jason is there and tells Aria he remembers her having pink hair years ago. He says he always liked that Aria was "unexpected" and say he misses that pink hair. Aria smiles.

Spencer comes home to a letter that her parents will be late. She walks over and sees the barn door ajar and hears the shower running. She opens up Melissa's luggage and looks through it, glancing at Ian's passport and some prescription drugs.
Spencer tells Aria about the conversation with Wren and Ian not staying in town. They hang up and Aria hears something downstairs. It's Mike, who tells Aria he's been "places, here and there." He says if she tells their parents about his basketball lie he'll tell them about her sneaking around with her friends. Mike doesn't think things with their parents will ever be the same.
The double date begins and Caleb doesn't think it's going well. Danielle tells Lucas she likes him, but thinks Hanna has been "checking you out." Danielle thinks Hanna brought Caleb to make him jealous.
Emily and Samara look through a scrapbook Pam put together. Samara and Pam bond over the process. Pam suggests taking a tour of Danby, then talks about calling the scout directly. Emily begins to tell Pam the truth, but Samara cuts her off by telling Pam that Emily is good enough to get tons of offers and getting too focused on Danby would be a mistake.

Byron offers to take Aria to school. Mike walks by and immediately includes Aria in his lie about basketball. He walks away and Byron asks her if Mike is okay. She says "yeah."
Hanna tells Sullivan Alison is still with her. The friendship led her to occasionally do bad things. Alison made her feel special which seemed worth it at the time. Hanna tells the empty chair (supposed to be Alison) that she was the best friend she had, but she was also the worst enemy she ever had. At this point Hanna sees Alison in the chair. Alison tells Hanna that she needs someone: "Low self esteem leads to hefty Hanna," Alison says. Alison adds that Hanna only has "what I gave you" and she'll eventually lose the rest of her friends. Dr. Sullivan tells the police nobody else had keys to the office. They say there are no signs of forced entry.
The girls drive to the meting with Ian. Wren and Melissa stop and walk through a gate to a barn. The girls see Melissa go inside, then hear a scream. Inside they see Ian is dead. There is a gun in his hand and he's sitting next to a suicide note that begins "I killed Alison. I lost my temper." Above his body a white horseshoe has been drawn on the wall.
During the closing credits we see A place a phone in one of the girl's cell phones.
