- Holder and Linden learn that Alexi Giffords' father was killed by Stan Larsen when Stan was still doing muscle work for Janek. They arrest him but Lt. Carlson gives them only 8 hours to get a confession. Alexi denies any involvement in Rosie's death but the police realize Rosie was in trouble having found a voice mail message from her saying 'I saw him again'. Alexi says Rosie had also learned a family secret. Mitch has yet to contact anyone in the family and her parents are worried. They're also openly questioning whether Stan is fit to take care of the boys. Mitch gets to know the teenage girl from the motel and buys her lunch. Darren Richmond decides to drop out of the race for mayor, much to Jamie's consternation. At the end of a long day, Sarah gets back to the motel to find her ex-husband there waiting for her.—garykmcd
- Open with Richmond having a nightmare that Belko snuck into his hospital room and shot him several times in the chest.
Holder and Linden speculate that Alexi targeted Stan because he killed his father. To get back at Stan, he killed Rosie. Jack calls Linden and says he's sick. Holder tells her to leave and check on him, but she wants to join him on a trip to Alexi's birth mother's home.
Alexi's mother initially won't help them. Linden assures her it will be better if they take him in and she tells them he's in the basement. They find him sleeping down there.
Stan leaves Mitch a voicemail. He tells her the boys miss her.
A shaky-looking Richmond wheels himself onto the the hospital elevator.
In the interrogation room Holder presses Alexi but doesn't get anything. In the other room Carlson expresses concern with how much money is being spent to investigate Alexi. She tells him Alexi's prints were found on backpack, as well as other physical evidence. But Carlson says she only has eight hours to charge him or let him go.
Looking out her motel window Mitch sees a teenage girl and her boyfriend have a fight.
Mitch's parents are worried about the boys staying at the house without Mitch there
Mitch offers to pay for the teen when she's refused service at a diner.
Linden attempts to connect with Alexi by referencing her foster background. Alexi tells her Rosie hated her parents, but refuses to say anything else.
Linden suggests they look at Alexi's phone to see if Rosie made any contact with him. Holder points out that they wouldn't be able to use the evidence in court without a warrant, but Linden doesn't seem to mind bending the rules if it gets them a confession.
Stan stops by the station, interested in telling the police information about his past. He sees Alexi, but Linden tells him he should leave.
Outside the hospital Richmond strikes up a conversation with a younger woman. While they speak about family he wets himself.
Rosie had left a voicemail message on Alexi's phone the night she died. They hear a sliding door and her begging him for help. She tells Alexi she "saw him again."
When presented with the voicemail Alexi tells them he waited at the dock for Rosie but she never showed up. He talks about her trying to avoid somebody but before he can give them anything else Carlson interrupts with word that Alexi's attorney has arrived.
Alexi and his attorney leave the station. Linden and Holder follow as he's taken to Janek's place.
Mitch's father tells Terry he doesn't like how it looks that she's living with Stan. He asks about the "big shot" she'd been dating.
The young girl and Mitch laugh and joke together at the diner. Mitch lies a bit about her life and invited the girl to join her later for dinner.
Jamie meets with an ex who works in the DA's office. He's pressing her for info about the charges against Richmond.
Holder lets Linden leave to check on Jack while he waits at Janek's.
Holder returns home to find Jack's father sitting there. Jack has a 103 fever and he complains about their living arrangement. Jack's father says he wants to be a part of Jack's life and she calls for a police car. He leaves.
Holder returns to his car and finds Alexi waiting in the back.
Jamie comes to Richmond's room and finds him weeping. Jamie puts him into bed and tells him the story of his grandfather, who battled back from a serious job accident. He then tells Richmond about the photo Adams had faked. Jamie thinks Adams had him framed and is trying to prove it. Richmond says "I'm gonna destroy him."
Holder shows up at Linden's place, saying he has Alexi in the car and he wants to talk.
Stan's attorney tells him he'll have to go to trial over the Bennet beating and he's probably looking at 3-5 years.
Alexi says he had planned to kill Stan, but meeting Rosie changed his outlook. The night she seemed to be avoiding somebody he noticed a black town car.
Stan comes into Terry's room and they begin to kiss. A phone call interrupts them and Stan leaves. Terry begins to weep and sees another phone call, this one from "Private."
Alexi tells Linden he thinks Rosie found something out.
We see Mitch watch the teen get into somebody's car.
Terry is "working" that night and we see her get into a black town car.
Alexi tells Linden that Rosie found out "the truth. Stan Larsen wasn't her real father."
