Brilliant

Warning: Spoilers
Has made Oxfordshire council look like dimwits, along with just a couple of the local villagers! An absolutely brilliant series and showing just what our farmers have to go through to achieve a survival! Oxford council should hang their heads in shame, and see just how much money Jeremy is pumping into the local economy. Just wish there were more shows like this to bring some joy to the world. Hopefully Amazon will realise just what Jeremy and the show bring to the public attention. Informative and entertaining, and goes to show how British humour is well and truly alive! Please......more series!!!

How are councils still a thing??
thatguycampbell15 February 2023
Absolutely astounding that the way we govern locally is still via a council that no one bothers to vote for except those of retirement age. How is progress ever going to happen when those in charge are vehemently opposed to it. Yes, people could go out and vote, but who wants to be a councillor? Who is there to vote for? Who has the spare time to follow council politics other than retirees and those who strongly dislike enjoyable things? Why is a popularity contest on the most boring topic the means for which we supposedly get effective governance? There must be a better way than this especially by the 2020's. Glad there is some media content out there to show what a joke our "democratic" processes truly are. Supposed to work for the people. All I saw here was people's livelihoods being ruined.

Councillors stuck in the past, what an embarrassing meeting.
Adam-092656 March 2023
A segment of the council meeting was them talking about the weather. I mean WHAT?! Local farms are losing profit and struggling to feed the land but don't worry dark skies are fun to look at. One thing this show has taught me about farming is that it's a hell of a job with no promise for profit. The past few episodes have shown Jeremy wanting to bring people together, a potential restaurant that can thrive a community and help farmers around the area. Isn't that what this country should be about? Not old idiots moaning about change, change is happening. It's time to adapt from time to time, it sickens me. I can't even side with them this time.

Entertaining but irresponsible

This series seems to entirely focused on demonising the councils yet the refusal of his restaurant is entirely understandable given it is in a protected area of natural beauty.

You could always open a restaurant in the nearest town which is no doubt in need of investment. It would have all the parking and transport links required and no need to continue the development of ever shrinking green space.

I understand that the view is a major selling point, but surly he must understand that the view is the very thing the council is protecting. I'm sure he would feel differently if somebody else in the view on the opposite vally would also like to open somthing with a 70 space carpark... there goes the view!

Remember that clarkson is purly an entertainer and everything he says should be taken with that view.
