You'd think Halloween would be the holiday that the lion's share of holiday-themed horror movies would center around. But that would have to be Christmas, which has inspired the likes of classics such as "Black Christmas," "Silent Night, Deadly Night," "Gremlins," "The Nightmare Before Christmas," the incredible "Tales From The Crypt" segment "And All Through The House," and so many more.
Maybe it's because Christmas is supposed to represent the pinnacle of goodness and charity that mucking it all up with blood, guts, and terror is just too perverse to resist. But of all the other holidays on the calendar, Thanksgiving gets my vote for the most untapped potential, horror-wise. Pilgrims? Unseasoned food? Family coming to my house? Wake me up when the nightmare is over.
While there has been a solid assortment of Thanksgiving-themed shockers over the years, from "Kristy" to "Séance" to the delightfully campy "Into The Dark" film "Pilgrim,...

No, you don’t have to do a double-take. You did just see Haley Bennett in The Magnificent Seven, and now she’s back only a few short weeks later with another blockbuster affair, Tate Taylor’s The Girl On The Train. The Paula Hawkins adaptation also stars Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, Justin Theroux and Luke Evans, but Bennett gets to star as arguably the most important cog in Hawkins’ twisty, mysterious machine. For those of you who read the book during its best-seller run, Bennett plays the part of Megan Hipwell. You know how things go.
For those who don’t, understand that Tate Taylor’s suburban nightmare is never what it seems. The film itself has screened to some pretty rocky reviews so far, so it looks like I’m in the minority of critics who believe The Girl On The Train is a homegrown story of passion...

Blumhouse Productions is best known for its contributions to the horror genre, with such frightfests as Sinister, Insidious and The Purge in its body of work. But if you take one look at its upcoming slate, you’ll begin to understand that Blumhouse is looking to broaden its horizons in a big way. One of the most curious projects in the works over at the studio is a revenge Western called In A Valley of Violence. Though Ti West (The House of the Devil) scribed and also directed, the film still seems more than a little out of the way for the horror-leaning studio. That doesn’t mean, however, that we’re not looking forward to it, particularly with the cast West has lined up. Today, James Ransone joined the film, which already boasts Ethan Hawke, John Travolta, Karen Gillan and Taissa Farmiga.

The film Kristy has been developed under a few names. Originally, this film was titled Random. Later, it was renamed to Satanic and it has been retitled to its first name, Kristy. Recently, a trailer has been released for this horror title. The clip shows Justine (Haley Bennett) alone on a college campus; but, a few sychophants have remained behind. Several students, on an lonely college campus, must band together and fight against this brutal gang. But, who are these sadists? And, what do they want? Ashley Greene has replaced Anna Kendrick on Zach Braff's new movie Wish I Was Here.
The actress will take over from her fellow Twilight Saga star in the Kickstarter-funded project.
Braff announced the swap to the campaign's backers.
"Well, since you're having your first shot as being movie producer, it's time you experience something that happens a lot: scheduling conflicts," he wrote.
"We've tried our hardest, but we've been unable to figure out the lovely Anna Kendrick's scheduling conflicts with another movie she's doing. This happens all the time in movie-land.
"Putting the shooting schedule together is like planning 25 weddings: each day has so many moving pieces and locations. I love Anna so much and can't wait to work with her one day."
Braff described Greene as "gorgeous", "charming" and "hilarious".

Young actresses regularly reinvent their image once they hit a certain amount of fame. Sometimes it.s a visual disasterpiece like Lindsey Lohan.s I Know Who Killed Me, and occasionally it.s pure gold, as was Jodie Foster.s performance in Taxi Driver. There.s no telling what Harmony Korine.s Spring Breakers will do for Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez. Ashley Greene.s upcoming role, however, probably isn.t going to be as extreme as any of those. Entertainment Weekly has the first shot of Greene in director Olly Blackburn.s horror-thriller Random, in which Greene plays Violet, the heavily pierced leader of a violent gang who chooses to terrorize a college student (Haley Bennett) who stays on campus during holiday break. Greene is best known for her role as Edward Cullen.s sister in the Twilight films, but Random looks like it will trade vampire melodrama for...

Greene co-stars with Lucas Till and Haley Bennett, the latter of which plays a college student who, remaining on campus over Thanksgiving break, becomes the target of a violent gang. There's just something about multiple title changes that can sometimes predetermine a movies fate. But let's hope the stigma doesn't attach to the new Oliver Blackburn ('Donkey Punch') helmed horror 'Random'. And if you're bemused by the title then that's because it's already gone through two previous titles already including 'Satanic' and 'Kristy'.
