A touching personal story of Croatian photographer and cameraman Silvestar Kolbas. He always liked taking pictures - he photographed his family, friends, girlfriend and later his son... The first part of the movie is a warm account of his growing up and adolescence, marrying and having a son, a life which is interrupted by the Homeland war. He goes off to war, to defend his country, and his thoughts on life change, almost as if he becomes another person. The thing I like the most about this film is the fact that the author, who is also the main character in the film, looks at all the events through a very personal, almost intimate lens, and is very honest throughout his story. This makes the viewer connect with him, cry and laugh with him. The documentary is normally not my genre, but this one I really like very very much. I don't remember seeing such a good movie on Croatian Homeland war ever before.
