Sometimes, learning about your family gets you more than you bargained for.
On Will Trent Season 2 Episode 9, Will visited San Juan, Puerto Rico, to feel closer to his mother.
While he accomplished that, he wasn't expecting only days later to find Uncle Antonio's best friend, Javer, dead.
Will has always longed to feel close to people, but he was terrified to because, as he confided to Lucy, so many people die.
Since Season 2 began, he has lost Cricket, and we learned that he was close to his foster mother, Anna, who was murdered.
He almost lost Angie in the Will Trent Season 1 finale, so it made sense why he held off getting close to anyone else, including his uncle, or reuniting with Angie sooner.
His mom tried to convince him to let go, and the scene of Will jumping into the ocean and breathing was pivotal, and the beginning credits.

Harare, Aug 20 (Ians) Though K.L. Rahul’s promotion to opening the batting didn’t give the desired result, the stand-in captain was happy with some of his batters getting to spend some time at the crease.
In a chase of 162, India were 97-4 before Sanju Samson hit three fours and four sixes to be unbeaten on 43 off 39 balls and shared a 56-run stand with Deepak Hooda to seal the match in India’s favour with 146 balls remaining.
“Not really, we do bat deep. Good for some of the guys to get time in the middle. I do need some time in the middle, obviously playing this series was important for me to take some runs and confidence away, unfortunately, didn’t work out today. Hopefully in the next game,” said Rahul in the post-match presentation ceremony.

What makes this year’s tournament, to be held in the T20 format in Dubai and Sharjah, special is that it will also mark the return of the greatest rivalry in men’s cricket — India vs Pakistan. The return of the Asia Cup to the UAE also brings back the tradition of India-Pakistan matches being played in the country through the 1980s and 1990s, mainly in Sharjah.
India, the defending champions and seven-time winners of the trophy, will be looking to retain their throne as the best in Asia. A successful defence of the Asia Cup title ahead of the Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia in October-November, where they will be facing Pakistan too on October 23, will be a huge boost for India, who have embraced an attacking style of play with the bat since their early exit from the tournament last year.

London, Aug 20 (Ians) Former South Africa skipper Graeme Smith applauded the attitude India had towards Test cricket when Virat Kohli was captain, saying it was fantastic to see him take the longest format of the game extremely seriously.
Kohli, who became full-time Test captain in 2015 after Ms Dhoni announced his retirement from the format, led India to 40 wins out of 68 Tests as skipper while losing 17 and drawing 11 matches. He stepped down from Test captaincy as India lost 2-1 in South Africa in January, with a win percentage of 58.82 while registering memorable wins in overseas and home conditions.
“With Test cricket, it’s just iconic nations or the big cricketing nations that are contributing to Test cricket at the moment. India led a (the) way in Test cricket under Virat Kohli. It was just fantastic; he took Test cricket so seriously in world cricket. They lead the way with that,” said...

Dubai, Aug 19 (Ians) With just a week to go for the prestigious Asia Cup T20 tournament tournament, the Emirates Cricket Board (Ecb) has made a huge change by removing Ahmed Raza as skipper of UAE’s T20 side, replacing him with batter Cp Rizwan.
Raza. though, will continue to remain UAE’s One-day International captain. The decision comes just three days before their match against Kuwait in Al-Amerat, and two months before their T20 World Cup campaign in Australia.

Auckland, Aug 19 (Ians) Former New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Ian Smith believes pace-bowling stalwart Trent Boult’s recent announcement to release himself from the Black Caps’ contract signals the end of his Test career, and added that it would be a big loss for the country’s cricket.
Boult’s request to release him from the central contract so that he could spend more time with his family and be available to play in domestic leagues around the world, was recently accepted by New Zealand Cricket (Nzc).
The 65-year-old Smith, a veteran of 63 Tests and 98 ODIs, added that the pace bowling pair of Boult and Tim Southee is the “the best combination” the country has ever seen in Test cricket.
“I think it (release from central contract) probably means the end of his Test career, I honestly do,” Smith said on Senz’s The Run Home. “That’s a shame because Southee...

The interesting part would be as to how the various newly-formed T20 leagues around the world will find a slot in this heavily-loaded cricket calendar. The Indian Premier league (Ipl), fortunately, has been given a leeway, as the months that it is held in has been left free for it to be played without any major matches being played elsewhere.
The Bcci quite rightly issued a statement that the Indian players are to abstain from playing in any other limited-overs league. The Ipl is Bcci’s prime property and the Indian players are very important for it to succeed. Exclusivity is of prime importance to protect the Ipl in every way possible, as without the Indian cricketers, other leagues will struggle to get enough eyeballs to make it into a lucrative proposition.
The worry, as I had mentioned in my earlier articles, will be in controlling the gambling, betting and...

The country has proved its mettle on the global stage in terms of hosting cricket, football, Formula One, tennis, golf, and UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) events.
Although football is the first choice of the local population of UAE and there are countless football stadiums and football clubs, the way the government has made facilities in UAE for all sports with a vision and policy considering the possibilities in all other sports. Along with creating a safe environment, it has started a new chapter of sports tourism in this tourism-oriented economy.
This month UAE is going to host the Asia Cup 2022. In the past few years, UAE hosted a lot of cricket events — T20 World Cup, Ipl, and Pakistan Super League (Psl) — many times. The country hosted them during the peak of Covid-19 and that makes UAE a standalone country in organising sports events.
Hosting major cricket tournaments is not a foreign concept for the UAE.

Karachi, Aug 15 (Ians) Former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt believes that Rohit Sharma’s India will be one of the firm favourites to win the Asia Cup cricket tournament, starting in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) later this month.
“Yes, they can win the Asia Cup. Do they lack Vitamin C (laughs)? The type of cricket they are playing, the pool of players they have, they are giving exposure of international cricket to a lot of players, people will consider them as favourites,” Butt was quoted as saying on his YouTube channel.
India have won the tournament seven times and will be going for the eighth crown when they start their campaign against Babar Azam’s Pakistan on August 28. India last won the title in 2018, beating Bangladesh in a nail-biting final.
He said that other teams — namely Pakistan, which has won the title twice, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh too have their chances.

London, Aug 15 (Ians) Former England captain Andrew Strauss believes that Test cricket can co-exist alongside rising T20 cricket around the world. But at the same time, he admitted that the format faces a huge challenge as the cricketing world continues to be on a choc-a-bloc schedule.
Strauss is currently serving as chairman of the cricket committee England and Wales Cricket Board (Ecb), and is leading the high-performance review into the future of the game in the country.
“One thing we know in other countries, Test cricket doesn’t pay the bills, like it does here. The T20 format is the way that a lot of people get introduced to the game in the first place. I still maintain that they can sit together comfortably, Test cricket and T20 cricket.”
“But the challenge we have is (to provide a) manageable schedule that allows players to do both. That is really complicated.

Melbourne, August 15 (Ian) Cricket Australia (CA) on Monday launched a five-year strategic plan, setting ambitious participation targets that will safeguard the game’s financial sustainability and take the sport in the country to the next level.
The plan features 10 strategic priorities across four “interrelated pillars”. The objectives, which will govern decision-making through to 2027, have been developed after consultations involving thousands of fans and stakeholders from all parts of the cricket spectrum, said a report in cricket.com.au.
“Australian cricket’s priorities will now be to strengthen the engagement between fans and players, continue to produce world-class teams, entrench a strong and innovative business model and establish a framework for the game’s positive social impact,” said the report.
Through this project, CA wants to double the number of kids aged 5-12 playing cricket to 210,000, and quadruple the number of girls registered in this age group to 60,000 over the next five years.
