Some time ago, I watched a different documentary about Albert Goering, the brother of the infamous Nazi, Herman. However, I cannot find the name of that other show--I just remember that it seemed to cover much of the same material and did it a bit better.
The show is about Albert and his efforts during the Nazi era to save lives of Jews and others considered enemies of the Germans. To do this, he took full advantage of his family connections. After all, Herman was the head of the Luftwaffe and one of Hitler's most trusted aids. However, to do this repeatedly he risked his life many times and somehow managed to survive the war--only to be accused by the Allies of being a war criminal!
This show follows the filmmaker on his journey to piece together Albert's life. Often, there seemed to be a bit more focus on the filmmaker than Albert and the film did have a few lulls here and there...as well as a lot of supposition about folks apart from his personal list of 34 who he might have saved. Interesting and worth seeing but the show also seemed to leave a lot of questions unanswered.
