Comparing with the previous Netflix castlevania, this is simply not as good. It may get better and grow on you/me, but the issues might outweigh that.
First, the voice acting is dreadful. Especially Richter. English voice by an English actor, which is fine, and a much needed chang. But it's just bad. Bad in the sense that you feel like it's a forced pretend English accent and it grates on you.
Next is the art. Again, it might grow, but the style is love or hate, and compared to the previous castlevania, it's bad. Kind of hand drawn but flat painted with black outline, it's just not what you want in a modern anime.
Next is the animation, truly bad. All the characters walk like they've got rods stuck up their bums. In addition they can't seem to match the speed of walking with the side scrolling of the backdrops.
But the story seems ok.
