Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird) has signed on to star in Bad Apples, a project that’s described as “a biting satirical comedy with thriller elements”. The film will mark the English language debut of Swedish filmmaker Jonatan Etzler (One More Time) and is set to start filming in the UK in the spring of 2024. Bad Apples is being made under an Equity contract, so it will still be able to go into production even if the Screen Actors Guild isn’t over by then… although we hope it will be.
Scripted by Jess O’Kane, Bad Apples is based on the Rasmus Lindgren novel De Oönskade. It will tell the story of Maria (Ronan), a primary school teacher doing her best to inspire a class of 10-year-olds but unable to because of one unruly and chaotic student. With her career in question and the child’s behavior spiraling, she makes a...

It was a strong week for rock music on the Billboard 200 albums chart, led by Blink 182‘s new studio album “One More Time.” It’s the first album from the complete trio of Travis Barker, Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge since DeLonge left the group in 2015. Read all about this week’s chart here at Billboard.com.
“One More Time” debuted with 125,000 equivalent album units based on its combined record sales, individual track sales and online streams, with traditional sales making up the majority of its total. This is the third number-one album of their career, following “Take Off Your Pants and Jacket” (2001) and “California” (2016). Their last album, “Nine” (2019), achieved 94,000 units in its first week, but that was with Matt Skiba as part of the lineup instead of DeLonge.

Blink-182 have added two new bonus tracks — “Cut Me Off” and “See You” — to their big classic lineup reunion album, One More Time.
Both songs are gigantic blasts of pop-punk angst, though each with its own particular flourishes. “See You” bolsters the palm-muted power-chord chug with sky-high synths and even an atmospheric breakbeat sample. “Don’t let us be over, I’ll wait here forever,” Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus sing on the chorus. “You can’t burn us with your flame/I’ll see you anyway.”

The original lineup of Blink-182, Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge, have returned with their first album together since DeLonge left the band in 2015, titled ‘One More Time’.
In a new video with interviewer Zane Lowe, the bandmates got candid about their past disagreements and how Hoppus’ diagnosis with stage four Lymphoma helped them see the bigger picture.
“I didn’t know that Blink would ever get back together, or that I would ever share a stage with Tom. I told management, I told Travis, I told everybody, I’m not setting foot on stage with that dude again,” said Hoppus about his falling out with DeLonge.
“Then, honestly, I got sick. Just by random chance, Tom hit me up,” Hoppus continued. “I’m like … by the way I have Lymphoma, and Tom snapped into this person and immediately was like, called me every morning, ‘What’s going on?...

Blink-182 have officially released One More Time…, the first album to feature Tom DeLonge alongside Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker in over a decade. Check it out below via Apple Music and Spotify.
DeLonge left Blink in 2014, as the band was preparing to record the follow-up to their 2011 album Neighborhoods. Hoppus and Barker released two albums, California and Nine, with the singer-guitarist’s replacement, Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio. The pop-punk veterans announced the return of DeLonge last year with the single “Edging,” then recorded One More Time… during their reunion tour. Given their history, it makes sense that the group said the record covers “themes of tragedy, triumph, and most importantly, brotherhood.”
Produced by Barker, One More Time… also features the singles “More Than You Know,” “Dance with Me,” and “Fell in Love,” as well as its title track.

On their ninth album, Blink-182 are still pondering the riddle that’s always been at the center of their antic-filled career: “What’s my age again?” This time, the answer is pretty clear: old in life, but young at heart. The songs on One More Time are steeped in the sharp perspective of grown-ups who have gone through some shit and wonder how the hell they got where they are. After all, it’s been 12 years since they released an album with their signature lineup of bassist Mark Hoppus, drummer Travis Barker,...

Blink-182 are hung up big time on their new song, “Fell in Love,” the latest offering from the band’s upcoming album, One More Time.
“Fell in Love” is a bit of jangly alterna-pop, the bright guitars paired with some effervescent synths. Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus share vocal duties, reminiscing about those exciting, slightly stupid moments in an early relationship — until the inevitable hammer of doom drops: “It’s fucking with my head/Now we can never pretend, we can only be friends/Remember the time, we fell in love.

Blink-182 are back in full effect. The pop-punk trio - made up of members Travis Barker, Mark Hoppus, and Tom DeLonge - reunited last year to release their single "Edging," their first in 10 years at the time. The new track came just a few days after the band announced a reunion tour, which kicked off on March 11, a few short weeks before their surprise Coachella performance. Now, the iconic group is set to release their first full-length album in over a decade, and it's titled "One More Time…" Ahead of the new album's Oct. 20 release, Blink-182 released a short trailer teasing three of its tracks: "Anthem Part 3," "One More Time," and "You Don't Know What You've Got." The four-minute clip also features old footage of the trio and recalls what led to their "indefinite hiatus" and eventual comeback.

Kylie Minogue’s Tension may be the Australian pop singer’s first non-themed album in nearly a decade, but an unambiguous sonic thread links all 14 of its songs. From “Things We Do for Love,” perfect fodder for a top-down cruise along the Pch, to “You Still Get Me High,” which sounds like a cut from an imaginary Molly Ringwald rom-com, Minogue is fully immersed in the glory of the ’80s. Even the album’s lead single, “Padam Padam,” is an invasive earworm that feels like it could be a cover of a Reagan-era pop hit.
As is her wont, Minogue opts to home in on the fluffier sounds and sentiments of the decade of greed. “Hold on to Now” and “Story” are lightweight but anthemic, in the vein of past hits “All the Lovers” and “Into the Blue.” “We’ll be dancing forever/Floating on this feeling together,” Minogue...

Brian Setzer has a new solo album coming out on September 15th called The Devil Always Collects. Ahead of its release, the Stray Cats frontman has shared the record’s lead single “Girl on the Billboard,” as well as a run of 2023 tour dates — his first live shows in four years.
The Devil Always Collects is Setzer’s eleventh solo effort, which he co-produced himself along with Julian Raymond and mixer Chris Lord-Alge. A press release promises “virtuosic” guitar riffs and “non-stop freight train rhythms” that will appease “fans of rock, Americana, rockabilly, and punk” alike. Pre-orders are ongoing.
Like a lot of Setzer’s work, “Girl on the Billboard” sounds retro by nature; the song was originally popularized in 1965 by country music singer Del Reeves. “It’s an old truckers song,” Setzer adds in a statement. “At first I wasn’t getting the sound I wanted until I picked...

Kylie Minogue just wants to feel the beat of your heart, going “pa-dam, pa-dam” (as she writes it), on her new single, “Padam Padam.” In the video, Minogue writhes, wiggles, and shivers as her sheer, red cape defies the laws of physics floating all around her as she and her dancers, all dressed in red, beat their hands on their hearts. “Padam, padam, I hear it and I know,” she sings over a techno-pop backdrop produced by Lostboy, “Padam, padam, I know you want to take me home.” She also...

So, did you ever wonder why Carol Burnett always tugs her ear? It was a way she could say “hi” to her beloved grandmother. The first time she did it was when she made her TV debut at 22 on the Dec. 17, 1955 episode of the popular “The Paul Winchell and Jerry Mahoney Show.” She played the girlfriend of the woody dummy. “The first song I sang on TV was ‘Over the Rainbow’ to Jerry Mahoney,” she noted in a 2016 L.A. Times interview with me. “I remember I called my grandmother to tell her I was going to be on television. Nanny said say hello to me. That’s when we came up with pulling my ear.”
Nearly seven decades later, Burnett is still tugging at her ear, singing and making people laugh And on April 26th, which is her 90th birthday, NBC is throwing her a celebration “Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love.

One More Time is a Swedish film directed by Jonatan Etzler and starring Hedda Stiernstedt and Maxwell Cunningham.
From Sweden comes this “teen” comedy in a sort of Back to the Future… Swedish style.
Interesting for its exotic touch. In terms of story and construction, not groundbreaking, but it’s watchable.
One More Time (2023) Movie Review
With a “Hollywoodish” starting point, One More Time revisits the teen comedy and the 80s theme we’ve seen so many times before. It does it with the grace of applying a photography of the 80s to reminiscent scenes. It’s funny, yes… but it remains somehow in the picturesque, not working well enough to make it really interesting.
It’s not a comedy to crack up, but a rather “European” comedy that falls somewhere between treating the characters with the respect they deserve and falling into that trivial side more typical of the genre.
