- [while the Red Wedding massacre is performed, Walder Frey watches Robb, severely injured, crawling to his dying wife Talisa]
- Walder Frey: [taunting] The King in the North arises...
- [Robb cradles his dead wife. Catelyn grabs a knife and then drags Lord Walder's wife Joyeuse out from under the table and holds the knife at her throat]
- Catelyn Stark: Lord Walder! Lord Walder, enough! Let it end!
- [pause]
- Catelyn Stark: Please. He is my son, my first son. Let him go and I swear we will forget this. I swear it, by the old gods and new, we will take no vengeance.
- Walder Frey: You already swore me one oath right here in my castle. You swore by all the gods your son would marry my daughter!
- Catelyn Stark: Take me for a hostage, but let Robb go!
- [Catelyn pleads to Robb]
- Catelyn Stark: Robb, get up, get up and walk out. Please, PLEASE!
- [Robb looks at his dead wife]
- Walder Frey: And why would I let him do that?
- Catelyn Stark: On my honour as a Tully; on my honour as a Stark, let him go or I will CUT your wife's throat!
- [Robb slowly stands up]
- Walder Frey: [smiles nastily] I'll find another.
- [Catelyn turns to Robb, seemingly accepting defeat]
- Robb Stark: Mother...
- [Roose walks up to Robb]
- Roose Bolton: The Lannisters send their regards.
- [Roose stabs Robb in the heart as Catelyn watches in despair. She cries in agony as Robb falls to the ground dead, and then slits Joyeuse's throat in retaliation. She stands in silence and shock, while Black Walder Frey approaches her from behind and slits her throat. She collapses, dead]
- Robb Stark: [feeling Talisa's belly] Boy or girl?
- Talisa Stark: I don't know. But if it's a boy, I know what we should name him.
- Robb Stark: Oh, do you? It seems to me the father should have some say in his son's naming.
- Talisa Stark: Eddard.
- [Robb looks at Talisa serenely]
- Talisa Stark: Don't you want to teach little Ned Stark how to ride horses?
- Robb Stark: I do.
- Walder Frey: The Septon has said his prayer, the words have been said, and Lord Edmure has wrapped my daughter in his cloak. But, they are not yet man and wife. A sword needs a sheath, and a wedding needs a bedding!
- Daario Naharis: There. It's a back gate. My men use it when they visit Yunkai's bed slaves.
- Jorah Mormont: Your men, but not you?
- Daario Naharis: I have no interest in slaves. A man cannot make love to property.
- [Daenerys gives Daario a sidelong glance]
- Daario Naharis: This is where we enter the city. Very few guards. They know me. They let me inside...
- Barristan Selmy: We're not going to sneak an army through a back gate.
- Daario Naharis: I kill the guards. I take your two best men and lead them through the back streets, which I know well, and open the front gates. Then comes the army. Once the walls are breached, the city will fall in hours.
- Jorah Mormont: Or perhaps you'll lead Grey Worm and me to the slaughter, cutting the head off our army. The masters of Yunkai will pay you your fee and you won't have to split it three ways 'cause you've already slaughtered your partners.
- Daario Naharis: You have a very suspicious mind. In my experience, only dishonest people think this way.
- [realizing that Jon is still loyal to the Night's Watch, Tormund orders his men to kill him. At Tormund's command, the wildlings charge at Jon. Before Ygritte can shoot, Jon knocks her to the ground. Orell and several more wildlings attack Jon. Tormund charges at Ygritte before she can reach her bow. Jon kills one of the wildlings. Tormund grabs Ygritte]
- Tormund Giantsbane: He's one of them.
- Ygritte: [struggles to get free] No!
- Tormund Giantsbane: Do you hear me?
- [Ygritte bites Tormund's hand. He shrieks in pain and releases her, but immediately grabs her again]
- Tormund Giantsbane: You're not gonna die for one of them.
- [inside the tower, Jojen urges Bran to warg into Summer]
- Jojen Reed: Do it. They'll find us if you don't.
- [Osha, Rickon and Meera look at Bran. Finally he does as Jojen says. He concentrates, breathing heavily, his eyes become blank as he wargs into Summer. Jon is still fighting with several wildlings. Suddenly, Summer and Shaggydog intervene, attacking and killing two of the wildlings. Jon continues fighting with Orell. He evades Orell's sword and stabs him fatally. Orell gasps in agony]
- Jon Snow: [taunting] You were right the whole time.
- [although Orell is mortally injured, he tries to cheat death by warging into the mind of his eagle. He concentrates, his eyes become blank. As Jon stands over Orell's dead human body, Orell's consciousness is controlling the eagle. The eagle attacks Jon, claws at his face with his talons, trying to pluck his eyes. Jon barely manages to fight it off. He stands, blood runs across his face, runs to the horses, mounts one horse and rides away before Tormund and Ygritte can stop him. Ygritte looks after Jon, with mixed expression of anger and pain]
- [Orell returns from scouting a nearby hut]
- Orell: Only one old man and eight good horses.
- Tormund Giantsbane: [to Jon] What's one old man doing with eight horses?
- Jon Snow: He breeds them for the Watch.
- Ygritte: How does he keep folks from stealing 'em?
- Jon Snow: The Watch protects him.
- Orell: Not today, they don't. He's selling horses. He's got some gold in there.
- Tormund Giantsbane: And proper steel.
- Orell: Let's carve him up.
- Jon Snow: We just take the horses and go. The old man's no threat.
- Orell: [to Tormund] I keep telling you.
- Ygritte: He's an old man. A spear through the heart's a better way to die than coughing up your last with no one but your horses to hear.
- Jon Snow: The Watch might send a few men looking for a horse thief. They'll send a lot more to hunt down murderers.
- Tormund Giantsbane: I hope so. Killing crows in their castle is tough. Killing them out here in the open, that's what we do.
- Walder Frey: Your king says he betrayed me for love. I say he betrayed me for firm tits and a tight fit.
- [after Roose Bolton refuses an offer of wine from a serving girl at the wedding]
- Catelyn Stark: Don't you drink, Lord Bolton?
- Roose Bolton: Never do, my lady. Dulls the senses.
- Brynden 'Blackfish' Tully: That's the point. Didn't you marry one of these Frey girls?
- Roose Bolton: Aye. Lord Walder let me choose any of his granddaughters, and promised me the girl's weight in silver as a dowry. So I have a fat young bride.
- [Brynden chuckles. Catelyn stares at Roose Bolton with distaste]
- Catelyn Stark: [coldly] I hope she makes you very happy.
- Roose Bolton: Well, she's made me very rich.
- [the wildlings capture an old man outside the tower where Bran and his group are hiding. The old man sits up and pulls out a knife as Tormund walks up to him]
- Tormund Giantsbane: That won't help you, grandpa.
- [Tormund holds out his hand; the old man hands Tormund the knife, and he tosses it away]
- Tormund Giantsbane: Where you riding?
- Old Man: Doesn't matter now, does it?
- Tormund Giantsbane: No. It doesn't matter now.
- Orell: Cut his throat, or he'll tell the Crows we're here.
- [Tormund unsheathes his sword]
- Tormund Giantsbane: You understand.
- Old Man: Let me stand, at least. Let me go with a bit of dignity.
- [Tormund helps the old man to his feet]
- Orell: [to Tormund] Make the crow kill him.
- [Orell walks up to Jon]
- Orell: You're one of us now. Prove it.
- [inside the tower, Jojen tries to convince Bran to warg into Summer]
- Jojen Reed: The wolves are out there.
- Bran Stark: I can't do it by choice. I don't know how, it's... it happens in my dreams.
- Jojen Reed: You're a warg, Bran. It's in your blood.
- Bran Stark: I can't.
- Jojen Reed: You just did, with him.
- [Jojen gestures at Hodor]
- Jojen Reed: A wolf is nothing compared to that.
- [outside, Jon unsheathes his sword and lays it against the old man's neck]
- Old Man: She looks sharp.
- [Jon nods. The old man closes his eyes and begins to pray. Jon hesitates]
- Ygritte: Do it. Do it!
- Orell: I told you. He's still one of them.
- Tormund Giantsbane: Go on, boy! Go on!
- [Jon steels himself, swings his sword back, but can't bring himself to execute the old man. Ygritte quickly nocks an arrow to her bow and shoots the old man in the heart. The wildlings all draw their weapons as Jon goes into a defensive stance and Ygritte nocks another arrow]
- Orell: He's a crow. He'll always be a crow. And here's his crow wife guarding him. He'll stab us in the back first chance he gets.
- [tense pause]
- Tormund Giantsbane: Kill him!
- [Gilly holds her baby as she looks at the Wall]
- Gilly: Our father used to tell us that no wildling ever looked upon the Wall and lived. And yet, here we are.
- [Sam and Gilly are plodding through woods in the snow]
- Samwell Tarly: We're west of Castle Black, but the Nightfort's closest to us. It was the first castle on the Wall, but the Watch abandoned it during the reign of King Jaehaerys the First. Too big, impossible to maintain. Other than Castle Black itself, the Nightfort's the perfect castle for us. It's got a... a secret sally port, the Black Gate, as old as the Wall itself. No one's used it in... centuries, most likely. It leads through the Wall, right down into the Nightfort. If one knows about it, which it so happens...
- [Sam chuckles]
- Samwell Tarly: I do.
- Gilly: How do you know all that?
- Samwell Tarly: I read about it... in a... a very old book.
- Gilly: [considers for a while] You know all that from staring at marks on paper?
- Samwell Tarly: Yes.
- Gilly: You're like... a wizard.
- Meera Reed: It's good land and there's no war up here. Why leave?
- Bran Stark: Wildlings.
- [Osha frowns]
- Bran Stark: Sorry. But they come over the Wall and raid and steal and carry off women.
- Rickon Stark: Old Nan said they turn your skull into a cup and make you drink your own blood from it.
- [Osha scowls at Rickon]
- Rickon Stark: That's what Old Nan said.
- Jojen Reed: There's a storm coming.
- Bran Stark: I don't see any.
- [a distant thunder is heard]
- Meera Reed: It's as good a place to stay as any.
- Osha: [grinning at Rickon] We can drink some blood while we wait. I don't need much.
- [Arya looks worriedly at the Twins from across the river, while the Hound eats some pig's feet from the farmer's stolen wagon]
- Arya Stark: No one's going to believe you're a hog farmer if you eat them all.
- Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane: [waves a pig's foot at Arya] Best part of the animal.
- [pause]
- Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane: Don't worry, they're still there.
- Arya Stark: I know they're still there.
- Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane: You check every five minutes like you're afraid they're gonna move.
- Arya Stark: I'm not afraid.
- Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane: 'Course you are. You're almost there. And you're afraid you won't make it. The closer you get, the worse the fear gets. No point in trying to hide behind that face. I know fear when I see it. Seen it a lot.
- Arya Stark: I knew fear when I saw it in you. You're afraid of fire. When Beric's sword went up in flames, you looked like a scared little girl. And I know why, too. I heard what your brother did to you. Pressed your face to the fire like you're a nice, juicy muttonchop.
- Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane: That give you some ideas?
- Arya Stark: Might do.
- Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane: Go ahead, then. You might get away. Might even make it there on your own. They're just over the river. Closest you've been to family since Ilyn Payne snipped your daddy's neck.
- [Arya turns and walks right up to the Hound]
- Arya Stark: [coldly] Someday, I'm gonna put a sword through your eye and out the back of your skull.
- [pause, then Arya turns and goes back to looking across the river]
- [Arya and the Hound come across a farmer trying to fix his wagon]
- Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane: [handing the horse's reins to Arya] Remember what happens to children who run. I'm your father, and I'll do the talking.
- [the Hound walks over to the farmer]
- Hog Farmer: Roads have gone right to hell, haven't they? Cracked three spokes this morning.
- Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane: Need a hand?
- Hog Farmer: Need about eight hands.
- [the Hound lifts the cart up by himself so the farmer can replace the wheel]
- Hog Farmer: Got to get this salt pork to the Twins in time for the wedding. Many thanks.
- [the Hound punches the farmer, knocking him out cold, and draws a dagger; Arya runs over to stop him]
- Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane, Hog Farmer, Arya Stark: Don't! Don't kill him!
- Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane: Dead rats don't squeak.
- Arya Stark: You're so dangerous, aren't you? Saying scary things to little girls. Killing little boys and old people. A real hard man you are.
- Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane: More than anyone you know.
- Arya Stark: You're wrong. I know a killer. A real killer.
- Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane: That so?
- Arya Stark: You'd be like a kitten to him. He'd kill you with his little finger.
- Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane: [nodding at the unconscious farmer] That him?
- [Arya looks at the farmer then back at the Hound, confused]
- Arya Stark: No...?
- Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane: Good.
- [the Hound steps forward, but Arya shoves him back again]
- Arya Stark: Don't kill him! Please! Please don't.
- Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane: [sheathes his dagger] You're very kind. Someday it'll get you killed.
- [the farmer groans and stirs; Arya picks up a piece of wood and knocks him out again, then walks away as the Hound looks after her in surprise]
- [the Starks arrive at the Twins]
- Walder Frey: My honored guests. Be welcome within my walls and at my table. I extend to you my hospitality and my protection in the light of the Seven.
- Robb Stark: We thank you for your hospitality, my lord.
- [Lord Frey eats some salted bread]
- Robb Stark: I've come to make my apologies, my lord, and to beg your forgiveness.
- Walder Frey: Don't beg my forgiveness, Your Grace. It wasn't me you spurned. It was my girls.
- [they come forward, a lengthy procession]
- Walder Frey: One of them was supposed to be queen. Now none of them are.
- [Lord Frey introduces motley crew of not-very-attractive young women]
- Walder Frey: This is Arwyn, my daughter. My daughter Walda, my daughter Derwa, my daughter Waldra. My eldest granddaughters Ginia and Neila.
- Walder Frey: [gestures at two redheads] Serra and Sarra, granddaughters, twins.
- [Edmure isn't impressed]
- Walder Frey: You could have had either. You could have had both, for all I care. My granddaughter Marianne. My granddaughter Freya. My granddaughter...
- Walder Frey: [clearly forgot name] Wertha.
- Walder Frey: [guessing, embarrassing her:] Waldra. Waldina.
- Merry Frey: I'm Merry.
- Walder Frey: Fine. And here's my youngest daughter Shirei. Though she hasn't bled yet. Clearly you didn't have the patience for all that.
- Robb Stark: My ladies, all men should keep their words, kings most of all. I was pledged to marry one of you, and I broke that vow. The fault is not with you. Any man would be lucky to have any one of you. I did what I did not to slight you, but because I loved another. I know these words cannot set right the wrong I have done to you and your house. I beg your forgiveness. And pledge to do all I can to make amends so that the Freys of the Crossing and the Starks of Winterfell may once again be friends.
- Walder Frey: [mock applause] Very good.
- Walder Frey: [eyes on Talisa] There she is. Come closer. Let me have a look at you.
- [Talisa comes forward slowly]
- Walder Frey: Still can't see you.
- Walder Frey: [gestures at his own aged features] Old eyes.
- [Talisa comes nearer and bows her head respectfully]
- Walder Frey: Love. That's what the Starks of Winterfell call it, eh?
- [Lord Frey chuckles]
- Walder Frey: Very honorable. I call it a pretty face. Hmm. Very pretty. Prettier than this lot, that's for sure. Very shapely as well. Oh, you try and hide her under that dress. If you wanted to hide her, you shouldn't have brought her here in the first place.
- [Robb tenses up]
- Walder Frey: I can always see what's going on beneath a dress. Been at this a long time.
- Walder Frey: [to Talisa, leering tone:] I bet that when you take that dress off, everything stays right where it is. Doesn't drop an inch. Your king says he betrayed me for love. I say he betrayed me for firm tits and a tight fit.
- [Catelyn urges Robb not to lose his temper]
- Walder Frey: And I can respect that. When I was your age, I'd have broken fifty oaths to get into that without a second thought. Well, I have enough room in the hall for you lot. We'll set up tents outside with food and ale for the rest of your men.
- Robb Stark: [seething] Thank you, my lord.
- Walder Frey: [claps hands once] Well, let's get ready. The wine will flow red... and the music will play loud, and we'll put this mess... behind us.
