Exclusive: Ace Entertainment has optioned TV rights to New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Young’s In Nightfall, a young adult horror novel that was sought after by a number of production companies, sources tell Deadline.
SVP, Television Paul Kim and VP of Television Kendyll Boucher will serve as exec producers of the small-screen adaptation, we’re told.
Billed as a gender-swapped Lost Boys, or The Lost Boys meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer, In Nightfall was published by Penguin Random House/Delacorte Press in March 2023, going viral on X and being springboarded into the publishing zeitgeist when no one showed up to the author’s book launch in Tempe, Arizona.
The book takes place in the quaint town of Nightfall, Oregon, where it isn’t the dark you should be afraid of — it’s the girls. Theo and her brother, Marco, threw the biggest party of the year. And got caught.

Glen Powell is slowly becoming an interesting actor with the choice of films he is participating in. While he has played pivotal parts in acclaimed films like Everybody Wants Some!!, and Hidden Figures in the 2010s, he became a sensation as Hangman in Top Gun: Maverick. He followed the huge success of that film with the rom-com Anyone But You.
Sydney Sweeney & Glen Powell in Anyone But You
Powell’s sizzling chemistry with Sydney Sweeney was the highlight of the film and audiences throned to theatres to watch the film. The film became a huge hit, signaling the renaissance of rom-coms and audiences’ desire to watch them in theaters. However, some audiences are not impressed with Powell and the present style of rom-coms that are coming out.

Fresh off of winning her second career Grammy, Kylie Minogue has signed with UTA for live representation in the United States and Canada and acting worldwide.
The Australian singer won the best pop dance recording Grammy — a new award — earlier this month for her viral hit “Padam Padam.” The song is from her 16th studio album, Tension, which was released last year and reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart.
Minogue, 55, won her first Grammy — best dance recording — in 2004 for her groovy hit “Come Into My World.” Her hits also include “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” “The Loco-motion” and “Love at First Sight,” among others.
She has sold more than 80 million records worldwide, earned five billion streams and launched nine U.K. No. 1 albums. She’s won three Brit Awards and two MTV Video Music Awards, and is the only female artist to score a No.

Kylie Minogue is currently on her More Than Just a Residency residency in Las Vegas.
It began in November last year and is scheduled to run until early May.
This isn’t the first time Minogue has performed in Las Vegas, as she recalled during a Los Angeles press conference that she had “performed a couple of times but as part of a tour.”
Speaking on what she planned her residency to be, Minogue said, “I want it to be the kind of essence of what a Kylie show has become, enough glamour and abandon. I’ve got some versions of songs that have not been heard, like reinterpretations of songs, which is exciting.”
“Live bed dances, amazing costumes. That’s the base and then we’ll see what surprises we can come up with,” she added.

Adam Fogelson is replacing Joe Drake as chair of Lionsgate’s motion picture group.
Drake reportedly initiated the transition and will be working with Fogelson over the coming months on succession plans. Drake, who was named co-chair of Lionsgate in 2017, will be leaving the company. He’s departing after leading the studio to its first billion-dollar year since 2019, thanks to commercial winners like “John Wick: Chapter 4” and “Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.”
“Despite unprecedented disruption over the last few years, we built a team that thrived throughout and achieved everything I could have imagined at Lionsgate,’ Drake said in a statement. “Having worked side by side with Adam for the past 18 months, he is the perfect choice to lead the motion picture group forward to even greater heights.”

Despite initially earning Pixar its worst opening weekend in studio history, “Elemental” has bounce back. It went on to have a box office comeback and achieve sleeper-hit status. That streak continues on streaming after debuting on Disney+ on Sept. 13. The animated film went on to become the most-viewed movie in its opening week on the platform this year.
Studio executives reported that it had amassed 26.4 million views in the first five days following its release on the streaming service, more than doubling that of live-action “The Little Mermaid” which hit the service earlier this month. That makes “Elemental” the most-watched film during the week of its premiere on Disney+ since “Turning Red.”
For the weekend of Sept. 15-17, “Elemental” ranked as the No. 1 most-streamed film on Whip Media’s Movie Ranker, which uses viewership data from its consumer app, TV Time, with over 28 million registered global users.

Set over a 24-hour period, "The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight" follows Hadley (Steinfeld,) stuck at John F. In this story about the mad fears when love first strikes, Hadley and Oliver make it clear that true love isn't what greeting cards peddle, it's an act of bravery that's well worth the leap.
"Robert and Hailee together are perfect" O'Shea went on to state "They are both identifiable and winning, the script is sharp, the production team is aces, I really think we could have 'When Harry Met Sally' for the younger generation."
