When Helldivers 2 first appeared on the scene, it was welcomed with open arms by countless players crying out for a fresh new gaming experience. Recent reports have stated that the title has seen an alarming drop in player numbers which no doubt will have alarm bells ringing. Following this disturbing trend, Johan Pilestedt has decided to take a step back from his role as CEO and has brought in a well-respected and well-known colleague in the form of Shams Jorjani.

Netflix seems to dominate the documentary scene with its banger docs attracting the attention of millions around the world. You can recall the recent success of What Jennifer Did, the shocking film that reigned supreme in the platform’s chart for weeks.
More than that, these days the top is dominated by another doc, Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal, and it even managed to dethrone Netflix’s biggest hit of 2024 so far, Baby Reindeer. It all makes the documentary coming to the platform much more anticipated.
The upcoming movie revolves around Miranda Derrick, a dancer whose hype on social media is hard to overestimate. While her viral videos and sleek photos gain millions of likes on TikTok and Instagram, her life behind the camera seems to be much darker than those images.
Back in 2022, her sister Melanie, also a TikTok performer, and her parents Kelly and Dean made public...

98 years walking on this earth and over 70 of those working in the industry that he and we all love. How do you talk about a man who had his hands in everything and gave us so much? He was an honorary Oscar winner and heavily involved in the Academy itself. He gave us New Concorde and New World Pictures. Roger Corman was a master of the independent and low budget film and known lovingly as the King of Cult. He gave countless actors, writers, and directors their start and was still making appearances right up to his passing. Theres so much to go over but I think that the best way to honor the man is to bring this video in on time and underbudget, bonus Corman points if we can re-use some of the footage from this one in another one of our videos. I cant see a more...

For years, the Wilking sisters were inseparable. Passionate about dance since childhood, Miranda and Melanie found success as a duo on social media, raking in millions of TikTok followers and lucrative brand partnerships. In 2019, however, Miranda started spending more time with members of her church-affiliated talent management company that represented her, pulling away from her close-knit family. Eventually, she cut off contact with them completely, leading her loved ones to believe there was more happening behind the scenes.
Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult, a new documentary series directed by Derek Doneen, tells Miranda’s story — and the story of many other dancers who, like her, ended up ensnared within Los Angeles–based 7M Films management company under owner Robert Shinn, who is also a pastor at the Shekinah Church. Both former 7M employees and church members have accused Shinn of controlling behavior.

To the uninitiated, the "Halloween" franchise is just a slasher series. If you've seen one, you've seen them all. A masked maniac with a big knife wandering around different settings, cutting down anyone unfortunate enough to get in their way. Sure, while that might be true for John Carpenter's classic original, the series would grow increasingly odd and incredulous as the years went on.
As of this writing, there are four different "Halloween" timelines featuring Michael Myers. It starts with the original timeline, including the orignal "Halloween" from 1978, its sequel "Halloween II," the legacy sequel "Halloween H20," and "Halloween: Resurrection." Then, of course, is the colloquial Cult of Thorn timeline, which also includes those first two movies, followed by then "Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers," "Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers," and "Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers.

‘AHS: Delicate’ enters early labor with a fun, frenzied episode that finds the perfect tone and goes for broke as its water breaks.
“I’ll figure it out. Women always do.”
American Horror Story is no stranger to remixing real-life history with ludicrous, heightened Murphy-isms, whether it’s AHS: 1984’s incorporation of Richard Ramirez, AHS: Cult’s use of Valerie Solanas, or AHS: Coven’s prominent role for the Axeman of New Orleans. Accordingly, it’s very much par for the course for AHS: Delicate to riff on other pop culture touchstones and infinitely warp them to its wicked whims. That being said, it takes real guts to do a postmodern feminist version of Rosemary’s Baby and then actually put Mia Farrow – while she’s filming Rosemary’s Baby, no less – into the narrative. This is the type of gonzo bullshit that I want out of American Horror Story!

We’ve had plenty of Lovecraftian cult simulators, so leave it to a developer like Crazy Goat Games to come up with a Lovecraftian city builder. Worshippers of Cthulhu is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. The game will launch in Early Access in later this year, followed by a full release across all platforms in 2025.
According to the devs, since Cthulhu “tolerates nothing less than perfection”, the game will head to Early Access in order to deliver a “polished and immersive experience,” with the plan to “allow players to spend much more time with the game and go even deeper into the Cthulhu and city-building mechanics.”
As you might of expected, the story for Worshippers of Cthulhu has you leading the eponymous cult, with the goal of guiding your flock towards the ultimate goal of awakening Cthulhu. Every decision rests upon your shoulders; will...

Update: An Instagram announcement by Bethany Joy Lenz today revealed that her upcoming memoir will be titled Dinner for Vampires. The book details her decade in a cult while working on the hit TV show One Tree Hill.
“Being a writer has been a great, private joy in my life since I was about 12,” she wrote on Instagram. “This isn’t the first book I thought I’d write, publicly, but as difficult as this subject matter could be to untangle, I’m grateful I get to share my story, my way. It’s a story of forgiveness and a roadmap to how manipulation works, with a heartache and humor along the way. We all make mistakes and I hope Dinner for Vampires reminds you that, no matter what weird roads you’ve gone down, you’re not alone.”
The book is planned for an Oct. 22 release via Simon & Schuster.

Glen Powell is the latest heartthrob of Hollywood after his hunky avatar in Top Gun: Maverick followed by the romantic comedy Anyone But You. His s*xy charm and chemistry with Sydney Sweeney was a defining factor in the film becoming a big success at the box office.

In February, Arrow presents a season of bite-sized shocks in the form of the very best wild and weird short films, including Smile, the extraordinarily imaginative and disturbing award-winning short from director Joanna Tsanis; as well as The Wyrm of Bwlch Pen Barras, a Welsh language folk horror film about modern Wales, rooted in the country’s rich mythology, shot on 16mm and featuring a score by Cian Ciaran and Dafydd Ieuan from The Super Furry Animals; and ab adaptation of the famous short story by W.W. Even if one doesn't watch Ryan Murphy's and Brad Falchuk's "American Horror Story," one is likely familiar with the show's amazing ad campaign. Soon beginning its twelfth season, "American Horror Story" has always sported surrealist original artworks that only vaguely allude to the content of the series. The first season saw a pregnant woman and a man in a full-body vinyl outfit suspended in an all-red room. The third season, "Coven" featured a snake passing between the lips of three women standing close together. The fifth season, "Hotel," used an eyeless human face made of mattress panels, a key spearing its cheeks. The seventh season, "Cult," sported a woman with an elongated tongue.
The latest season, "Delicate," continued with the tradition by depicting the season's stars, Emma Roberts, Kim Kardashian, and Cara Delevigne, handling outsize spiders in vaguely pregnancy-themed tableaus. By FX's own description, "Delicate" is about...

Now available for consoles and PC, Gun Interactive’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre pulls inspiration from Tobe Hooper’s original classic for a multiplayer horror game (read our review), featuring Leatherface alongside both new and classic villains from the original movie. The actor who did the motion capture work for Leatherface in the game? Kane Hodder!
This is insanely cool casting for multiple reasons, one of which is that Hodder actually did Leatherface stunt work back in the ’90s for New Line’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III.
Kane Hodder was the third film’s stunt coordinator, which led to him actually playing the role of Leatherface for several scenes. R.A. Mihailoff is credited as Leatherface in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3, but from what we gather, Hodder did many of the stunts and action scenes.

We might have more information about the upcoming season of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story than we usually do at this point pre-premiere. Reality star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian has joined the cast of Season 12, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Emma Roberts, who previously starred in five seasons will be back. While character details have yet to be released, according to the report, Kardashian’s was “specifically written with her in mind.” Kardashian shared a video — one similar to previous AHS casting announcements — on Instagram teasing the news just before the news broke confirming her appearance. This comes after it was previously said that Matt Czuchry, whose Fox drama The Resident was canceled earlier this month, will be part of the new season. Again, no character information is out just yet. “Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,...

Content warning: This post contains mentions of emotional and psychological abuse.
"Stolen Youth," Hulu's new docuseries that explores Larry Ray's reign of psychological terror over a group of Sarah Lawrence college students, is extremely difficult to watch. The three-part series, released on Feb. 8, contains many real videos taken during the students' time living with Ray, and many feature verbal and physical abuse.
The story of what would become known as the "cult at Sarah Lawrence" first broke when The Cut published an exposé in 2019. It detailed how Ray had moved into his daughter Talia's dorm at Sarah Lawrence, quickly developing a hold over her roommates by regaling them with self-improvement advice. He claimed his knowledge was drawn from his years in the Marines, but Ray had lied about that - along with many other aspects of his life.
Anyone who followed the story in 2019 knows what happened next.

Sarah Paulson is nominated for an Emmy for her role as Linda Tripp in “Impeachment: American Crime Story” — the sole acting nod for the FX series — but could it be her last time in the anthology? The fourth season, rumored to be focused on “Studio 54,” is in the works.
“I’m sort of in this very interesting place where I’ve taken the last year off, which has been wild. Believe me, don’t think I don’t know what a privileged place it is to sit in and know that I can take a year off and still be able to live my life and not in a fearful way and that is a real really lucky thing,” she says. “I’ve said no to some things, which is a wildly new thing. I think the shows are always extraordinarily well-crafted and things I’ve always been so proud to be part of.

We finally have news about American Horror Story Season 11! The new season of Ryan Murphy’s horror anthology will premiere in the fall, FX chairman John Landgraf announced during his virtual executive session at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour. That puts it on track to premiere about a year after Season 10 ended — and fittingly, just in time for Halloween. The first five seasons premiered in October, the next four in September, and the 10th in August. As a result, that last one was the only one not to air new episodes around Halloween (with the finale on October 20). We are still waiting for any details about what Season 11 will entail. So far, the first 10 seasons have been titled Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, Roanoke, Cult, Apocalypse, 1984, and Double Feature, with the occasional crossover. What we do know is that it won’t be the last.

Emergence from pandemic lockdowns and the promise of in-person festivals has excitement brewing for the future of film, and the genre industry is no exception. The official selection of the 2022 Frontières Platform at the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes is in, and it displays bullish trends for the future of genre.
“There’s a lot of horror, and it kind of goes back to practical effects, and I love that,” says Frontières executive director Annick Mahnert. “Practical effects are coming back, which is great.”
Highlighting this trend is potential standout “Gnomes!” from the Netherlands, a horror film about gnomes who murder curious humans and turn them into sausage while they’re still alive. The film boasts producer and art department master Richard Raaphorst (“Frankenstein’s Army”), who brought the gnomes to life.
Other possible standouts of practical effects are “Requiem for a Robot, “Street Trash” and “Serial Kitten,” which blends costumes and CGI.

It’s been a quiet few months for the Child’s Play television series, currently titled Chucky, which will eventually air on Syfy. Franchise creator Don Mancini has been teasing the project for some time, though, from the show’s return to the more horrific elements of Child’s Play to whether it’ll resolve some long-standing questions about Chucky. Now, however, we finally have something to feast on, as the first promo has been released.
Teasing the return of an old friend, this new outing for the franchise will be distinct from the recent Child’s Play reboot, with Mancini implying in an interview back in May that the show will both introduce new characters and bring back old ones. Although not much is revealed in this first look at it, the footage does an effective job of conveying a creepy and sinister tone while whetting our appetites for something more substantial.

For longtime fans of American Horror Story, the latest season of the FX horror anthology series was the season everyone had been waiting for. Set in the days and months following a worldwide nuclear apocalypse, American Horror Story: Apocalypse gave us an epic crossover between several of the show's previous seasons, connecting the previously separate installments into one deeply twisty mythology. From witchy resurrections to time travel to the literal "son" of the devil, Apocalypse was horror on a cosmic scale.

For the first time ever, FX’s anthology series “American Horror Story” will be in the drama races at the Emmys for its “Murder House”-“Coven” crossover season, titled “Apocalypse.” Of course, this also means that leading lady Sarah Paulson will find herself in a different environment, now that she’s competing in Best Drama Actress. At the moment, she’s down in 13th place in our combined Emmy odds, but could she surprise and sneak into the lineup?
With seven previous Emmy nominations and one win for playing Marcia Clark on “The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” in 2016, Paulson is practically Emmy royalty.
