Travis Kelce isn’t being shy about his Hollywood ambitions.
The three-time Super Bowl champ is publicly declaring he wants movie roles — and wants to be in one film in particular.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end said on Wednesday’s episode of his New Heights With Jason and Travis Kelce podcast, “I’m looking for movie deals.”
He then added — specifically talking about Netflix’s upcoming Happy Gilmore 2 — “I’ll do anything in the movie. I’ll be a part of it any way I possibly can.”
Kelce was recently spotted wearing a Happy Gilmore hat following the streamer announcing that Adam Sandler was making a sequel to his beloved 1996 aggro-golf comedy.
The statement follows Kelce getting his first dramatic role in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming FX horror drama Grotesquerie. The project’s star, Niecy Nash-Betts, recently confirmed Kelce’s involvement in the show in an Instagram video.

Ryan Murphy is not one to shy away from many things. This even includes casting names not normally known for acting, such as Lady Gaga’s early crossover role when she made her appearance in the FX series, American Horror Story. Recently, Murphy even cast Kim Kardashian in a later season of American Horror Story, who isn’t the most popular figure, given the amount of exposure she’s received for years. Murphy would drop a teaser for his upcoming horror drama for FX, which you can watch below, and Deadline has reported that Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will be making his Hollywood debut in Grotesquerie.

A24 has officially signed on to John Patton Ford’s “Huntington” (working title) for U.S. distribution. Also joining are new cast members Ed Harris and Margaret Qualley, who will star alongside the previously announced Glen Powell.
“Huntington” is a revenge thriller that follows Becket Redfellow (Powell), the “heir to a multi-billion-dollar fortune who will stop at nothing to get what he deserves… Or what he thinks he deserves.”
Ford will direct “Huntington” (or whatever it is titled by then). He already wrote the original screenplay, which was inspired by the film’s financier Studiocanal’s “Kind Hearts and Coronets,” the classic 1949 crime film starring Alec Guinness, who famously played eight different roles in the film.

Travis Kelce already has his own music festival. The second annual Kelce Jam takes place on Saturday, May 18. It includes headlining acts Diplo, Lily Wayne, and 2Chainz.
Last year, Kelce booked Machine Gun Kelly as the headlining act. However, he was able to score bigger names thanks to his relationship with Taylor Swift.
Swift would be an easy money-making headlining act to the festival, but she will be in Stockholm, Sweden to perform for her ongoing Eras Tour. She won’t be able to return in time like she did for the Super Bowl when she performed in Tokyo.

Exclusive: Filipino actress and singer Lovi Poe (Seasons) is joining Adam Beach (Windtalkers) in the untitled Paul Fullerton project produced and directed by Garry A. Brown (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).
The movie, which is due to shoot in Dallas, Texas later this year, is based on the true story of Paul Fullerton (Beach), a decorated Native American fire captain whose life is turned upside down when a career-ending accident draws him into marijuana and a collision course with the local district attorney and his small group of rogue police.
In 2016, Fullerton and his wife Marie’s (Poe) home was raided by a multi-agency task force and the couple was unjustly accused of selling and distributing marijuana. Aspects of the case are still going through the court process today.
Brown, who is best known for producing and directing on multiple seasons of shows Prison Break and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., will serve as the producer.

“I’ve lost more guys here than I did in Iraq,” testifies a veteran during one of the many group therapy sessions featured in “My Dead Friend Zoe,” Kyle Hausmann-Stokes’ affecting look at mental health among ex-servicepeople. Two decades of life experience and personal loss have led the filmmaker to this project, which was inspired by the deaths of friends he served alongside during his five-year tour of duty with the U.S. Army. To be clear, most of the movie is spent avoiding the kind of support that vets need — which is kind of the filmmaker’s point.
His main character, U.S. Army veteran Merit (Sonequa Martin-Green), is haunted by the death of fellow soldier Zoe (Natalie Morales), with whom she served in Afghanistan. A phantom version of Zoe hangs around Merit all day, mixing afternoon cocktails and making wisecracks that only she can hear — well, she and the audience,...

You always hope your indie movie might get some extra attention.
That specific wish became a reality for the team behind “My Dead Friend Zoe,” which premiered at SXSW this past weekend. From army veteran Kyle Hausmann-Stokes, the personal film tells the story of a shattered veteran (Sonequa Martin-Green) haunted by the ongoing presence of her deceased platoon mate (Natalie Morales). It was recently announced that three-time Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce is an executive producer on the project.
When chatting with Martin-Green about her starring role on “Star Trek: Discovery,” we also asked the actress about what happens when a little indie movie that is currently seeking distribution combines with the kind of tabloid superpower that makes Fox News shake in its boots. Namely: What did you think when you found out Travis Kelce would be one of the producers on this project, in terms of eyeballs on your work?...

Grief is a funny thing — sometimes literally. Much of the best film and TV on the subject has been told through the lens of comedy; from “It’s a Wonderful Life” to “Fleabag” and everything in between, there is a secret society among the grieving, who know the power of laughing at or through the pain.
In fairness, that’s not the only lens through which debut feature director Kyle Hausmann-Stokes frames “My Dead Friend Zoe,” the story of a shattered veteran (Sonequa Martin-Green) haunted by the ongoing presence of her deceased platoon mate (Natalie Morales). Hausmann-Stokes, who co-wrote the film with Aj Bermudez, has been vocal about the personal nature of this story — including in the film’s post-credits — but even if he hadn’t, “My Dead Friend Zoe” is possessed of a realism that has to come from heartbreaking firsthand experience.

My Dead Friend Zoe, directed by Kyle Hausmann-Stokes and co-written with Aj Bermudez, weaves a complex tapestry from trauma, memory and the enduring strength of human connection. Starring Sonequa Martin-Green and Natalie Morales in the lead roles, with support from Utkarsh Ambudkar, Ed Harris, Gloria Reuben and Morgan Freeman, this film delves deep into the psychological aftermath of warfare, presenting a narrative that is both intimate and expansive.
The film opens on the dusty roads of Afghanistan, introducing us to Zoe (Morales) and Merit (Green), two army friends whose camaraderie in the face of adversity sets the stage for the story’s exploration of the impact of military service on personal identity and mental health. From the outset, My Dead Friend Zoe establishes itself as a film unafraid to tackle the complexities of post-traumatic stress disorder (Ptsd) and the ways in which it infiltrates the lives of those it touches.

When “My Dead Friend Zoe” filmmaker Kyle Hausmann-Stokes set out to adapt his own experiences as an Army vet onto the big screen, he made two very big changes: gender-flipping the main characters and two women of color in the roles.
Starring Sonequa Martin-Green and Natalie Morales, “My Dead Friend Zoe” is a dark dramedy that follows Merit (Martin-Green), a U.S. Army Afghanistan veteran who is at odds with her family thanks to the presence of Zoe (Morales), her dead best friend from the Army.
Director Hausmann-Stokes co-wrote the film with Aj Bermudez inspired by Hausmann-Stokes’s time serving five years in the Army as a paratrooper, during which he received the Bronze Star in Iraq, and the death of his good friend and platoon mate. “My Dead Friend Zoe” marks Hausmann-Stokes’s feature film debut after attending USC film school.

In August 2001, Kyle Hausmann-Stokes had just graduated from high school and wanted to escape the confines of his native Wisconsin. So he enlisted in the Army. Then 9/11 happened, and the teen would eventually head to Iraq, where he became a paratrooper. As his three-year enlistment was about to end, he was hit with a stop-loss order, an involuntary extension of active duty.
“I’m crushed. I have these big plans to go to film school,” Hausmann-Stokes remembers. “I get a call one night that the colonel wants to see me in his office. I was known throughout the battalion as the film guy. I was always secretly making films of our airborne jumps and our jungle warfare training. The colonel said, ‘I think you might be destined for something different than going to war with us right now. I’ve made arrangements for you and only you to be exempt from this stop-loss.

Joe Biden didn’t score an endorsement from Taylor Swift on Super Bowl Sunday, as some had predicted. But her boyfriend Travis Kelce is using the president’s renewable energy tax credits to finance the film “My Dead Friend Zoe.”

The investors in the low-budget dark comedy, which include Kelce, are the first to take advantage of 2022’s Inflation Reduction Act to finance a film.
