The title was chosen to mark an end to a certain type of narrative. Until this point Shawn Elestren felt that the only way he had generated any excitement was to race against the clock and wanted to move on. In retrospect he admitted that 'Shawn and the Countess Ravensdale' would have been a better title.
Inchcolm Island was not Shawn's original destination when filming began. Originally he was heading for the Hopetoun Monument in East Lothian. The scene where he crashes his bike was supposed to occur directly below the site, but when the ending was changed the crash scene remained, transplanted to the middle of the movie.
In the opening scene Shawn is reading the collected edition of 'Batman vs Predator'.
Shot entirely in natural light.
The burning rag that Shawn finds in the campfire is actually the remains of the shirt he was wearing in Curiosity Killed Shawn (2011), his previous movie.
