This article contains spoilers for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always.
When Power Rangers reached its fourth season in 1996, Power Rangers Zeo, Billy the Blue Ranger, played by David Yost, was the last of the original five Rangers to still be in the cast. Relegated to being the Rangers’ tech support, Billy was written out of the series in the most convoluted way possible in the episode “Rangers of Two Worlds” after David Yost rightly walked off set after being constantly harassed regarding his sexuality. Billy was rapidly aged to an old man (so he could be played by another actor) then sent off to the alien planet of Aquitar where he could receive treatments. He had the chance to come back to Earth but decided to stay on Aquitar because he met an Aquitian named Cestria who he could “really relate to.”

Power Rangers will celebrate its 30th season next year and it’s tackling this anniversary season with a true throwback to the past For most of its life, each new Power Rangers season would feature a completely new cast, story line, and a new adaption of a Japanese Super Sentai series. This somewhat changed starting in 2011 with Power Rangers Samurai where the traditional season was broken into two smaller seasons but it was still business as usual. The only seasons that carried over a large majority of their casts were the first five, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo, Power Rangers Turbo, and Power Rangers in Space.
However, for the first time since those seasons, Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury won’t be introducing a whole new cast. Instead, Cosmic Fury will feature the entire main cast from Power Rangers Dino Fury returning in their same roles. A video from Hasbro Pulse confirmed the news,...

Power Rangers is a legacy, joining a very small list of shows that run for such a long period of time, over 28 years! Throughout that time, the series has had its ups, its downs, and its mehs. I’ve been watching since the ripe age of 2 and have always loved the series, even in some of its more questionable moments.
But where does each season rank? With so many entries which ones stand as the best of the best of the best or which one and is a super mega dud? After a rewatch of all the seasons I ranked them all from worst to best with a little explanation of why they ended up where they did.
Quick note: I’m not including the “Mmpr Reversioning” as a season. It’s just a few Photoshop effects over a smattering of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1 episodes, and it’s nothing to write home about.

Exclusive: Josh McKenzie and Chloe De Los Santos are set as series regulars in NBC’s upcoming drama series La Brea.
In La Brea, written by David Appelbaum, when a massive sinkhole mysteriously opens in Los Angeles, it tears a family in half, separating mother (Natalie Zea) and son (Jack Martin) from father (Eoin Macken) and daughter (Zyra Gorecki). When part of the family find themselves in an unexplainable primeval world, alongside a disparate group of strangers, they must work to survive and uncover the mystery of where they are and if there is a way back home.
McKenzie will play Lucas. Sarcastic with an air of danger, Lucas has gone down a road of crime and works as a drug dealer. He is on a much different path than his police officer mother, Marybeth.
De Los Santos plays Lilly. At 12 years old,...

Amazon’s purportedly billion-dollar-budgeted Lord of the Rings TV series will take place Long before the events of Peter Jackson’s movies. Setting the tone for this small screen return to the world of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, the first two episodes will be directed by J.A. Bayona, who helmed Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
The Lord of the Rings TV series is set during Middle Earth’s Second Age—that’s thousands of years before Bilbo Baggins, Gollum or Aragorn ever existed! Moreover, the end of said age was a full millennium before the Wizards even arrived in Middle Earth, which makes the series a prequel in an epochal sense.
Amazon hopes the new Lord of the Rings TV show will be the next Game of Thrones, evidenced by its early Season 2 order. While Covid-19 temporarily halted its New Zealand production back...

Fans have a way with running with some pretty highbrow rumors for upcoming films. If there is the merest hint of an event or twist shown in the trailers or advertising, rest assured that some eagle-eyed fan will find it and make his findings known to the rest of fandom. This happened with the upcoming Power Rangers movie, when it was rumored that Rita Repulsa would, in fact be a former Green Ranger gone rogue, and that Zordon was a former Red Ranger.
While the rumor was never officially confirmed, it was given some credence by a report from TheWrap back in December. By this point, those details are pretty much considered as a part of the story.

This weekend, I had the opportunity to attend my first ever comic convention, Wizard World Comic Con in Louisville, Kentucky. Among various opportunities for the press, I had the opportunity to meet and briefly interview one of my childhood heroes, Jason David Frank. Frank’s notoriety is due in large part to his time on Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers (as the Green and White Rangers), Power Rangers Zeo (as the Red Ranger), Power Rangers Turbo (as the first Red Ranger), and Power Rangers Dino Thunder (as the Black Ranger). He also has appeared in the films based on the Mighty Morphin’ and Turbo properties, and has made cameo appearances on more recent Power Rangers seasons, such as Power Rangers Wild Force’s “Forever Red” and, most recently, Power Rangers Super Megaforce’s “Legendary Battle.” Nowadays, Frank (commonly known as “Jdf”) keeps busy by visiting many different Comic-Cons, filming a reality series about his life…...

During my grade school years, I would always anticipate the school bell because it meant that I could rush home and watch The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. I’d occasionally tape it, but would always try to be in front of the TV whenever it aired, in order to watch my favourite super heroes battle crazy evildoers in their fantastical world. And, I’ll even admit to being a big fan of Billy, the Blue Ranger, whose fan club was likely the smallest of the bunch.
Fast-forward to today, and the Power Rangers mythos is entering its 21st season, which astounds me. I never thought that it would last this long, nor did I expect to be reviewing a video game called Power Rangers Super Megaforce for a 3D Nintendo handheld. Here I am, though, about to explain my thoughts on such a game.

It's tough to really know where to begin. Nintendo dropped some serious information this morning concerning a lot of their big properties and collating that into an easily digestible format hasn't been easy! However, let's kick things off with some of the basics, like Nintendo's Amiibo figures (their answer to Skylanders and Disney Infinity). This was announced during E3, but today they've revealed some pricing on the figures and a few games they'll be compatible with:

With the just-dated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, another Smurfs movie and Steven Spielberg’s The Bfg all arriving within three months of each other, the summer of 2016 is looking like an unusually nostalgic one. Now, another familiar face from our childhood appears to be mounting a comeback around the same time, with Lionsgate’s announcement that it has dated a live-action Power Rangers movie for July 22nd, 2016.
The announcement puts Power Rangers on a direct collision course with Warner Bros.’ King Arthur, another potential series starter. Chances that one or both will move at some point are heightened by the fact that the fifth Bourne movie opens one week earlier, on July 15th, and the third Planet of the Apes hits one week later, on July 29th.

The "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" has found a new member in Robert Orci, the controversial and prolific franchise mainstay who's been involved with "The Amazing Spider-Man," "Star Trek," and "Transformers" films. Saban and Lionsgate are adding the writer-producer as an exec producer to their upcoming big screen reboot of the family-friendly action franchise. "Power Rangers" has also picked up writers Ashley Miller and Zach Stentz ("X-Men: First Class," "Thor") in the process, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The duo are reportedly teaming with Orci on "Star Trek 3," which will serve as his directorial debut. They also all worked on "Fringe" together. "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" debuted as a TV series in 1993, and has spawned countless spin-off -- including a 1995 feature film -- ever since. "Power Rangers Super Megaforce" debuted in February. Although no plot details are yet available, Orci, Miller and Stentz are reportedly completely re-imagining the series, which focuses...

David Yost (Blue Ranger/Billy Cranston)
David Yost landed the role of Blue Ranger Billy Cranston just three months after moving to California in 1993. In an intriguing piece of trivia, his character was named after Bryan Cranston, who at the time was doing voice work for Power Rangers producer Haim Saban.
Yost appeared in more than 200 episodes of Power Rangers, making him the only Ranger to appear in every episode of the original series.

This morning Lionsgate announced they are partnering with Saban Brands, creator of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, to spawn a new live-action film based on the group of high school kids infused with super powers. Now all I'm wondering is who the hell is going to watch itc I did head over to IMDb and apparently the Power Rangers are still on Nickelodeon in a show that began in 2013 titled "Power Rangers Megaforce", but it has only been voted on by 479 people since first airing in February of 2013. Other than that, what attachment does anyone have to these characters of the '90sc In the press release the two companies note a strong worldwide fanbase and perhaps it's just because I'm not a part of it that I'm not aware of its existence. The release also goes on to mention Lionsgate/Summit releases including The Hunger Games, Twilight and Divergent.

If you thought your childhood got a swift kick in the gut with the new Tmnt movie, gather round and let me tell you about your Power Ranger heroes from yesteryear. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers debuted in 1993, and now some twenty years later, we are getting a new live-action flick courtesy of Lionsgate and Saban. I only watched the original version of the show; I think there were other versions involving space, time, and Tmnt crossovers. There was a giant floating head and five teenagers with special powers fighting evil aliens in my version which was pretty sweet when I was ten.
The show is still on TV in some form or another (Power Rangers Megaforce?) and there have been three movies. In a press release, Saban Brands said Lionsgate was a good match for a new movie because the studio has been able to successfully create franchises out of The Hunger Games,...

A "Power Rangers" reunion? Don't hold your breath.
Earlier this week, David Yost -- a.k.a. the Blue Ranger -- refused an offer to appear on an episode of "Power Rangers Megaforce," claiming he was treated poorly by the producers of the show.
The openly gay actor, who appeared on the show from 1993-1996, said he experienced homophobic abuse while on "Power Rangers" and is "done with abusive relationships," according to TMZ.
“I walked off set one day during the middle of lunch .... I just had made a decision,” Yost told the fan site No Pink Spandex in 2010 of his exit from the series. “The reason I walked off was is because I was called f***** one too many times ... from creators, producers, writers, directors ... I know that my co-stars were called in a couple times to different producers' offices and questioned about my sexuality, which is kind of...
