Turn it off before they sing
briannemmitchell12 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I'm all for a horrible cheesy Christmas movie but I should have kept this one off. There are so many things that I disliked about this film so I'll keep it to the high(low)-lights the sake of brevity:
  • - The accents go in and out the entire film (I believe the actors are English, and the movie takes place in the US or maybe Canada?)
  • - The script is bland & generic (repetitive like most of these types of films but even worse)
  • - The guitar playing and singing didn't go together at all (like they're singing/playing different keys & notes) - it was painful to listen to
  • - The drama feels forced & the acting is subpar
  • - Overall it is time that I will never get back in my life which makes me sad.

Too much fakery
juiceyspicey10 November 2023
It's obvious from the style of license plates and the driving on the left hand side that despite having a huge American flag in the backgrounds of the main characters office, the movie was not acted in the US. I as an American love British and Australian movies! I subscribe to Britbox! Not sure why all the pretense to pass this off. I spent more time focusing on what was off than actually enjoying the story line. What was the movie about again? Can't even remember because everything else took my focus elsewhere! Keep it real people! Next time present a movie as being in that location and let your audience focus on the story line not all the background shenanigans to cover up locations.

Stunningly Bad
scottless24 November 2023
Skip this movie, unless you want to hate-watch or make a drinking game out of how bad it is (like I did after the first minute). It's apparently supposed to take place on America, as evidenced by the large American flag hanging on the wall in the female lead's stark white office, and the flag hung incorrectly outside her mother's home. Mom's home has an under counter washer and dryer on the kitchen, and she calls the bedroom closet the wardrobe. The attempts by the British actors to put on an American accent is a failure. The male lead's ranch looks like a European estate with ancient stone stables next to a old stone church that looks 400 years old. His pickup truck has the drivers side on the right. There are three characters in this movie, plus a coworker who is only on the first few minutes. All of the scenes are horribly drawn out waaay too long. How did this movie ever get made?

Horrible unless you want a fun drinking game
jmpou2 December 2023
This movie is spectacularly horrible. If you want a fun drinking game, drink every time the word "city" is said. From the insane camera angles to the lackluster plot and crazy long dialogue - this movie will keep you underwhelmed all the way through. This movie is clearly shot out of the U. S., but they desperately want you to think it is in the grand ol US of A. The accents are all over the place and I'm not really sure anything actually happened. The male character also looks a little funky and the female lead's wardrobe leaves something to be desired. Enjoy trying to follow the nonexistent storyline.

Wish I Had Read the Reviews First

Sappy Christmas movie aficionado here but do NOT waste your time with this. It may have been filmed with an iPhone after a dare.

  • Who displays a large American flag fresh out of the box (proven by creases) behind their desk?

  • American flag yet all cars have steering wheels on the "wrong" side for U. S. driving
  • Accents changed every scene, hint of an Aussie accent behind a bad attempt at Southern drawl that faded in and out
  • I've seen better acting in most high school plays.

  • Pretty sure he was wearing that leather cowboy hat backwards in one scene.

  • Guitar and two voices - all playing/singing in different keys AND different rhythms.

  • Yup, he was wearing the hat backwards.
