Exclusive: It is only fitting that Yves Simoneau, who directed the pilot for USA Network‘s last genre series, sci-fi drama The 4400, has been tapped to helm the network’s re-entry in the genre arena, period alien drama pilot Horizon, executive produced by Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead). Set during the height of World War II, Horizon, from Universal Cable Productions and Valhalla Entertainment, it centers on a female secretary at the FBI who begins a secretive investigation into files that have been stamped with the codename “horizon.” The mysterious project provides links to the death of her husband and the disappearance of a young girl, and has also — unbeknownst to her — aroused the interest of undercover Nazi spies working in the U.S. (Watch below Horizon‘s conceptual trailer, which was screened at USA’s upfront presentation last month.) The project, written/executive produced by Bridget Tyler,...

And the casting news just keeps rolling in. This casting article is for ABC‘s Beauty and the Beast pilot, the Batb which is the “reimagining” of the fairy tale, not The CW‘s “reboot” of the 1980s series. Just to keep you guessing, however, ABC is throwing a ringer into the mix; a man who is already playing a king on another series of theirs. Another fairy-tale-based series.
Alan Dale – Charles Widmore in Lost, King George in Once Upon a Time, and man of power in seemingly hundreds of other shows, will be playing, not surprisingly, the Emperor in this reimagined story, according to Variety who first broke the story.

In about two months, the networks will start revealing their programming lineups for the 2012-13 season. But Zap2it would like to give you a head start about which ones have caught our eyes. Plus, there are so many pilots and actors filling up roles being announced that we would also like to hopefully simplify things for you.
The (enormous) caveat is, of course, that we haven't seen these pilots because most of them haven't finished (or even started) filming yet. But here are the pilots from ABC that we think look promising.

"666 Park Avenue": This one-hour spookfest is about a young couple (Dave Annable and Rachael Taylor) who has come to manage one of the most historical apartment buildings in New York City. But all is not what it seems, as supernatural goings-on complicate things. We like scary and the addition of Terry O'Quinn and Vanessa Williams...

Yves Simoneau is directing the ABC Studios pilot from a script by Jon Steinberg, Bradley’s casting comes on the heels of the Sundance premiere of the movie Grabbers, in which she stars opposite Richard Coyle. Bradley, repped by Anonymous Content and Hamilton/Hodell, next stars the ITV’s Titanic miniseries, which coincidentally airs on ABC this spring. Monique Gabriela Curnen (Lie To Me) rounds out the cast of another ABC drama pilot, the untitled Roland Emmerich drama,...
