The producer, Magda Olchawska, has made the subject of this film, human trafficking a personal crusade ever since she came across the devastating information regarding human slavery. The statistics prove that human trafficking is increasing exponentially, and according to at least one expert, Anthony Steen, Chairman of the Human Trafficking Foundation, it's ten times worse today than it was 200 years ago in the heyday of slavery. What got Magda first interested in the subject was a poem written by Lynn Robertson whom she had e-met on Twitter. Upon reading the poem, as she told author Claude Nougat in an interview, she decided "to do something about this horrifying situation. That's how the idea for Anna came about."
