Even better than Part 1
'Phineas and Ferb' was one of the few Disney Channel shows in (relatively) recent years that was watched by me and my siblings, also Disney fans, since its inception and continued to watch completely hooked, the re-runs being holiday highlights. That's no joke. The earlier episodes are better than the later ones, funnier and more creative, but even when the show was not at its best it was better than quite a lot of the shows airing on Disney Channel, which has not been the same it used to be for years, at the time.
The "Where's Perry" two parter is an absolute delight. As wonderful as Part 1 was, being so good at setting things up, being a refreshing change of pace, giving different sides to certain characters and giving prominent roles to supporting characters not usually focused on as much, the more action packed Part 2 is even better. "Where's Perry Part 2" is a wonderful continuation and manages to be one of the best episodes of Season 3 in its own way, as an episode of 'Phineas and Ferb' this is as good as it gets.
Everything works. The animation is bright and colourful, with such vibrant colours that literally pop out at you and beautifully detailed backgrounds. The music is in the style that is not usually my style of choice when listening to music, but it is very catchy and pleasant to listen to. The theme song is irresistible with a melody that sticks in the head for days without being an earworm and with very quotable lyrics.
Writing is spot on, while the character writing and interaction is neither bland or annoying and the voice work fits every character like a glove. The story is full of energy with more suspense than usual and loved that there was more of a spy in action quality to it. The finale is action packed and in a way that is edge of the seat thrilling without feeling rushed. Absolutely adored the surprise teaming of Doofenschmirtz (a riot as to be expected) and Major Monogram and it was fascinating seeing Carl written in this way and coming off so entertainingly.
By all means, the rest of what goes on is extremely well executed, the Phineas and Ferb subplot is relatable and suspenseful and Candace's is not near as soapy or as cheesy as it sounds. It's the whole Doofenschmirtz, Major Monogram and Carl story that makes "Where's Perry Part 2" special. Perry is as funny, adorable and resourceful as ever.
In conclusion, wonderful. 10/10.
