"Oh hey, didn't see you there. While I've got your ears, there's something I'd like you to hear..." We always love a good stop-motion animated music video. And this is one of the best! Paris-based stop-motion creator Victor Haegelin (aka "Patator") created this outstanding music video for the track called "Too Late" by Chinese Man (a French trip-hop band composed of DJ Marseille Zé Mateo and High Ku and beatmaker Sly). It's an incredible bit of stop-motion brilliance, with some fourth-wall-breaking elements that show the workshop where it's being created. There's some creative visualization: the horse tell us the story walking in his giant hamster wheel of life. "Let the rappers sing on this endless wheel." The song itself is about life passing by, and the music video plays with this concept in such an intriguing way. I love everything about it! Especially the horse with his big grin and little turntable and breakdancing skills.

Albanian Independence Day was yesterday, but Drake doesn’t think it’s too late to join in on the festivities. On Wednesday, the Canadian rapper shared the music video for “Polar Opposites,” the closing track to his latest album, For All the Dogs, which prominently features a group of Albanian men hanging out in the game rooms of his residence. In the clip, Drake and his game-playing friends don matching red jackets, all with the national and ethnic symbol of Albania — the eagle — displayed on their backs.

Ray Stevenson was the kind of actor who could bring authenticity to any role, regardless of the historical period or fantasy world in which it took place. Whether he was portraying an Asgardian alongside Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or starring as the Roman soldier Titus Pullo on HBO's "Rome," he brought a humanity to characters that otherwise might be hard to identify with. With his skills as a performer, rugged good looks, and penchant for looking fierce in period garb, it would seem like Stevenson would be a shoo-in to play one of the many characters on the hit HBO series "Game of Thrones," but it turns out that he had an opportunity to join the cast and turned it down.
In an interview with Movies.com (via Digital Spy) back in 2015, the late actor revealed that he had been offered a role on the series but decided not to take it,...

ThankGod4Cody didn't anticipate how Sza's era-defining "Ctrl" album would completely change his life in 2017 - but he also didn't foresee waiting five years to get the call to work on her next album, "Sos." The 31-year-old Grammy-nominated producer, born Cody Jordan Fayne, caught a major break with his contributions to "Ctrl" - "Love Galore," Broken Clocks," "The Weekend," and "Wavy (Interlude)" - some of which are the biggest records on Sza's debut album. But it took years for him to find himself back in the studio with the R&b sensation to cook up her next musical masterpiece.
"Never in my life did I expect for the next one to be that long," Fayne tells Popsugar of the years-long wait for "Sos." "I didn't prep for that in the post time of 'Ctrl.' I wasn't pressed to work with people. I'm thinking, yo,...

Have you ever had to deal with a monster of a boss? Bob (Ron Lynch) has been he top man in his city's comedy circuit for many years. Everybody who's anybody loves his work and wants to be on his show, Too Late. Throughout that time, Violet (Alyssa Limperis) has been his loyal assistant. But Violet is starting to feel trapped in this role, now far below her skill level, and frustrated by the way Bob expects her to be constantly available yet passes her over for promotion. The trouble is that the two of them are bound by a secret. Bob is a monster not just figuratively but literally, and Violet has been helping him get away with it.
Comedy is a cutthroat business but it's also one in which people who support each other's talent can do great things together. Bob and Violet have very different styles. She wants.

Ron Lynch and Alyssa Limperis in Too Late
Comedy is a tough business. It’s highly competitive and those at the top often guard their positions jealously. Violet (Alyssa Limperis) has been a loyal assistant to Bob (Ron Lynch) for many years, but recently, seeing herself passed over for opportunities, she’s begun to find it frustrating. What’s more, she knows a secret about Bob that no-one else is privy to: he’s a literal monster and every month he swallows somebody whole. Having covered up for him for years, she’s finally beginning to feel that she should do something about it.
“Me and my husband, Tom Becker, who wrote the screenplay, what we first wanted to do was to make a low budget film,” says director Dw Thomas when we meet to discuss the film, Too Late. “We started coming up with ideas that we thought we...

Most people have had a boss who is just a nightmare. Especially since the advent of mobile phones, laptops, and easy internet access, too many of our supervisors have decided that we must be awake and available at all house, ready to work 24/7, with no regard for our personal lives, let alone our physical and mental health. Perhaps this goes double in cities like Los Angeles, in the entertainment industry, where the stakes, and the egos, are inflated. Too Late takes a literal look at the Los Angeles stand-up comedy scene, and the literal monstrous boss. Director D.W. Thomas' feature debut takes a wryly comic stance as it follows the story of one woman's attempt to get her career going while trying to literally...

This piece contains spoilers for Netflix’s Lupin.
Lupin, Netflix’s witty French mystery drama about a modern-day gentleman thief, constructs all of its cleverly layered mythology around a figure known as Arsène Lupin: smart, suave, a master of disguise, always one step ahead. Considering how much attention Assane Diop (Omar Sy) invests into adopting Lupin’s identity, not to mention how Officer Guedira (Soufiane Guerrab) devotes his equally fannish knowledge to following Diop’s tracks, it makes perfect sense to wonder, is Arsène Lupin real?
And here is where the answer is tricky, in a fun way: Arsène Lupin is not a real person, but he is a real fictional character outside of Lupin the series. Created in 1905 by French author Maurice Leblanc as a response to the popularity of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Great Detective Sherlock Holmes (created in 1887), the charismatic burglar is a reversal of Holmes in almost every way,...

Jenny and Cassie run into Officer Rick Legarski in this exclusive sneak peek at Tuesday’s Big Sky (ABC, 10/9c). Good thing Legarski doesn’t seem to see her do it — though he’s certainly not happy to run into The Many Loves of Cody Hoyt.

Ok, Grey’s Anatomy promos, you definitely got our attention by teasing that, as Meredith lingered in limbo in Thursday’s episode, “another person from her past” would return. Would it be Lexie? George? The MerDer baby that Grey miscarried in Season 6? No comeback could possibly top Derek’s for sheer shock value. But did the ABC drama manage to come close-ish? This Supernatural review contains spoilers.
Supernatural Season 15, Episode 19
There’s only one. Episode. Left. Nervous?
Images of an empty world begin the episode, reinforcing that the Winchesters and Jack are basically all that’s left. An entire world emptied to prove Chuck right is a pretty harsh punishment, something he relishes when the boys call him out and decide to surrender — something they never do. But Chuck wants them to continue suffering. He likes this new twist to the story, and hopes the boys continue to put the blame and shame on themselves. Hey, at least all the disappeared didn’t have to deal with the rest of 2020, amirite?
Chuck’s cruelty is put on display when Dean discovers a lonely dog — likely the last of its kind. Dean names it Miracle and decides to keep it, which is when Chuck poofs the dog into smoke and smirks at the boys from afar.

The Weeknd has expressed his desire to become a filmmaker in the future, and nowhere is that wish more apparent than in his latest music video, “Too Late.” It arrives with a Nsfw warning at the beginning, and given that it’s coming out close to Halloween, you can probably guess the reason why.
Created with the directing duo Cliqua, the visual opens with two women, both of them wearing facial bandages from recent plastic surgery, driving along a highway and coming across the disembodied head of the Weeknd. Rather...

Washed Out has released “Paralyzed,” the third single from his upcoming album Purple Noon. The song is accompanied by a tastefully Nsfw video by director Caroline Koning, shot in her native Holland and starring real-life couple Shay and Dorien.
On her inspiration for the video, Koning said: “Human contact, and something as simple as a touch, has new meaning in the context of today. These special times make the viewing experience of physical togetherness a different one, and I wanted to tap into that sentiment in a pure way. The...

Washed Out, a.k.a. Ernest Greene, has released “Time to Walk Away,” the lead single from his upcoming record Purple Noon, out August 7th via Sub Pop.
Directed by Riley Blakeway, the video features a relationship disintegrating as a couple painfully reflects on their past together as they try to move on. “I just wanna go back, start it all again,” Greene sings over dreamy instrumentation, as the man (Jae Overton) bashes his skateboard against a wall and the woman (Teresa Oman) sulks at a party. “Is it time to walk away?...

The afternoon before he released his latest album, the Weeknd put out a press release in which he offered a hopeful promise for his new work: “Let the music heal us all during these dark times.” Such communitarian concern hasn’t often been his hallmark. He’s always been one of pop’s top emotional distancers, instilling the Top 40 with his brooding vision as he plays the disaffected R&b lothario — from the sepulchral sad-boy swagger of his landmark 2011 goth ‘n’ B opus House of Balloons to hits like his...

Santiago De Chile — “Too Late to Die Young” (“Tarde Para Morir Joven”), Dominga Sotomayor’s coming-of-age drama, has been picked up by Santiago-based producer-distributor StoryBoard Media, which aims to release the drama in Chile by May next year.
Likened by some to “Call Me Your Name” for its evocative tale, “Too Late to Die Young” snagged Sotomayor a Best Director Leopard at Switzerland’s Locarno Film Festival, the first female director to receive this coveted prize. Locarno, Switzerland — Few Latin American women directors have awoken such expectation as Chile’s Dominga Sotomayor with her debut 2012 “Thursday Through Sunday,” a Rotterdam Festival winner. World premiering at the Locarno Festival on Thursday, “Too Late To Die Young” reprises some of the first feature’s themes and tone: Heartbreak at unrequited love, prescient young protagonists who sense the emotional complexities of their parents’ world. Set in the lap of the Andres, at an isolated ramshackle rural community in 1990 Chile, just as democracy is beginning to return to the country. “Too Late” is however shot on a far larger canvas, an ensemble drama which gradually focuses on 16-year-old Sofia, infatuated by a biker neighbor, distraught at the at community celebrations which confirm her mother’s abandonment of her.

The influence on today’s generation of Romanian filmmakers of local auteur Lucian Pintilie, who died earlier this month, is so profound it’s difficult to chart. But, Transilvania Film Festival chief and leading Romanian filmmaker Tudor Giurgiu says, his legacy will be felt for many years, and a tribute is planned for the event’s closing ceremony.
“I was his 1st Ad [first assistant director] in 1995 when working on ‘Too Late,’ which was screened in 1996 Cannes main competition,” Giurgiu recalls. “I learned everything from him – it was like attending a second film school.”
Pintilie’s first feature, “Sunday at 6 O’Clock,” a tragedy about two young communist lovers on the run in World War II, won him international attention in 1966.
Because of the director’s extensive background in theater, Giurgiu says, “Pintilie was an absolute master when working with actors. It was mesmerizing to observe how he achieved impressive performances by forcing...

Christina Aguilera took it back to 2002 and got “dirrty” again!
The singer hit up a holiday party (and, perhaps, a birthday party – she turns 37 today!) in something a little different than your standard ugly sweater attire: an intricate black embroidered blazer by Nudie’s Rodeo Tailors, which left little to the imagination as she revealed that she wore nothing else underneath. The pop star paired her braless look with a red heart nipple pasty, a black cowboy hat, and black trousers.

When it came to finding the perfect blazer in a cinch for this week’s Washington Redskins vs. New Orleans Saints game, there was no question in Andrews’ mind which designer she wanted to go towards.

Shortly after riding their bikes around La on Wednesday, the friendly exes were spotted out together again at the Los Angeles Valley Ice Center in Ventura, CA, after Justin's hockey game. While the "Bad Liar" singer arrived to the game solo in a black ensemble and stylish boots, she was spotted wearing Justin's jersey as the two made their way to their car later in the night. The former couple has been hanging out a lot, as of late. They first reconnected after Selena's kidney transplant this Summer and have only grown closer since news broke that she and The Weeknd have broken up. Aside from cuddling up during their stroll in La, Justin and Selena were also spotted grabbing breakfast and attending church together. This time, it definitely is the end. The previous volume finished up reprinting the fifty-year [1] run of Charles M. Schulz’s comic strip Peanuts in twenty-five volumes, two years in each book. (See my posts on nearly all of those books: 1957-1958 , 1959-1960 , 1961-1962 , 1963-1964 , 1965-1966 , 1967-1968, 1969-1970 , 1971-1972 , 1973-1974 , 1975-1976 , 1977-1978 , 1979-1980 , 1981-1982 , 1983-1984 , 1985-1986 , 1987-1988 , 1989-1990 , 1991-1992 , 1993-1994 , the flashback to 1950-1952 , 1995-1996 , 1997-1998 , and finally 1999-2000 .)
Vol. 26 does something slightly different: it collects related works. It has comic book pages and advertising art and gift-sized books (some of which could be called “graphic novels,” with only a tiny bit of squinting) and similar things — all featuring the Peanuts characters, all written and drawn by Schulz. Obviously, this was culled from a far larger mass of related Peanuts stuff — dozens of hours of TV specials, to begin with, plus major ad campaigns for many products over most of those fifty years,...
