Graham Marvin and Tim Daly dug deep into Alzheimer's research, interviewing patients with early-onset as well as consulting with representatives from the Alzheimer's Association, NYU Alzheimer's Disease Center, and the Judy Fund. Every detail of the script was gone through for 100% accuracy.

The first night of production, Hurricane Henri hit and due to widespread flooding, filming had to be postponed. The budget ballooned.
The choir featured in the movie is the Choral Society of Grace Church in New York. Many of the singers as well as their conductor, John Maclay, were former students of Graham Marvin's father, Jameson Marvin. All the singing was done live on location, following the actors' conducting.
