‘After the Flood’ Premiere Preview: Joanna Recalls Risking Her Life to Save a Father & Child (Video)
On and offscreen loves! Joanna Marshall (Sophie Rundle) gets some much-needed downtime in TV Insider’s preview of After the Flood, premiering May 13 on BritBox. If listening to After the Flood Vol. 1 leaves you heartbroken, just know that Kyle Nix was heartbroken when he wrote it.
“I used a paper and pen for therapy,” says Nix, the multifaceted instrumentalist and frontman of Kyle Nix and the 38’s, of writing the album’s 14 tracks — 13 songs and a spoken-word intro delivered by Shooter Jennings. “I was just writing how I felt about what was going on in my life, going back several years”
Most country music fans recognize Nix as the fiddle player for the Turnpike Troubadours.

Crime dramas can sit on a pretty broad spectrum: some are campy, cosy and even comfortingly formulaic, whereas others make you need to sleep with the light on. The one guarantee is that in the UK at least, there’s such an appetite for detectives and crime stories that TV will never run out of new cases to solve.
We’ve already had some top examples in 2023, from the Happy Valley and Endeavour finales to the excellent Belfast-based Blue Lights, but there are plenty more fresh crime dramas on the way, from police procedurals to true crime and murder mysteries. See what’s coming up below.

Very much what it says on the tin, After The Flood begins… after a flood, which devastates a town, but when the waters clear they leave behind an unidentified dead man in the lift of an underground car park. PC Joanna Marshall is on the case,...

The BBC is making a feature-length drama about the remarkable true story of one of the world’s first medical trials for the drug that became Viagra, which once again pairs It’s A Sin’s Russell T. Davies with Nicola Shindler.
Shindler’s Quay Street and Welsh indie Boom are behind Men Up, starring the likes of Iwan Rheon, Aneurin Barnard, Alexandra Roach and Steffan Rhodri (House of the Dragon), and penned by Matthew Barry. Davies and Shindler are EPs.
Years before the little blue pill changed the lives for millions across the globe, a group of ordinary middle-aged Welsh men underwent the extraordinary, taking part in one of the first clinical trials for an unknown drug which later became Viagra. This group of men had one thing in common: impotency, and were living their lives drowned in shame and silence before being offered a lifeline.
