The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominations for the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards this morning.
The most notable news was that Netflix's "House of Cards" marks the first series released exclusively online to score nominations in the major categories.
"Game of Thrones," "Breaking Bad," "Homeland," "Downton Abbey," "Mad Men," and "The Good Wife" dominated the drama categories. "30 Rock," "Louie," "Modern Family," "Veep," "Girls," and "The Big Bang Theory" scored numerous nominations for comedy. "Behind The Candelabra," "Phil Spector," "Top Of The Lake" and "American Horror Story: Asylum" dominated the mini-series & movies categories.
Surprising shutouts this year include a massive snub of AMC's "The Walking Dead" and basically all of FX's line-up like "The Americans," "Archer," "Justified" and "Sons of Anarchy". Also missing out are the likes of Rob Lowe for "Behind the Candelabra," Corey Stoll for "House of Cards," Steve Buscemi for "Boardwalk Empire," Julianna Margulies for "The Good Wife,...
