- Linden and Holder question the girl they found, Angie Gower. She was badly beaten and had several of her fingers severed. She says her attacker was soft-spoken and said he was going to save her. She doesn't recognize any of the suspects' photos, including Joe Mills. Holder is beginning to think they're looking for the wrong guy. A terrified Danette Lutz goes to the police station to speak to them about what she's found. Linden has little respect for her but Joe Mills has disappeared. Linden wants to get permission for Adrian to visit his father in prison but his foster parents won't hear of it. Information from them lead Linden and Holder to the apartment where Seward's wife was killed and Linden is now convinced Adrian saw the killer. Skinner isn't impressed however. At the prison, Seward faces someone from his past and gets an unexpected visitor.—garykmcd
- Open with Danette entering the police station to report that she knows the whereabouts of Joe Mills. When the officer asks her to wait she gets agitated and begins yelling for them to get Linden. Eventually she's arrested.
Linden and Holder meet with Angie the girl found at the vet clinic. She tells them the man had her get in the back seat and began talking to her about "saving" and helping her to "finally see." He then got in the back and attacked her. She says she has no memory of what the man looked like. Linden pushes her to ID Joe, but Angie doesn't budge.
Reddick arrives at the hospital to help. The vet tech has no idea who brought Angie in and the story seems to check out. Linden leaves to speak with Danette.
At the station Linden isn't all that understanding of the suddenly concerned Danette, who previously lied about Mills. Danette is convinced Kallie is alive but doesn't have any good info about where Mills might be now.
Seward wakes up in the middle of the night to Hill doing something with his sheets. He realizes that Hill is making himself a noose and initially tries talking him out of it. Hill says that he is starting to lose his mind, for the first time in years he woke up not knowing where he was. Seward then helps talk Hill through the process of killing himself.
Henderson arrives late for his morning. shift and is told Becker is not there. He sees Hill's body during rounds and sounds the alarm.
Linden and Holder have no leads for Skinner on Mills.
Adrian's foster parents are at the station to complain about Linden meeting with him at school. They say that the interactions caused him to regress and he now sleeping in the closet. When they tell Linden this is a habit he had when they first got him, she thinks of something and quickly leaves.
In the car Linden shows Holder the Seward file and a picture of Adrian's room that seems to indicate he never slept in his bed.
Linden and Holder breaks into Seward's old apartment, which hasn't been occupied since the murder. She goes into the closet and finds toy stars have been placed on the ceiling, which indicates this had been Adrian's regular sleeping spot. From the closet Adrian should have been able to see his mother's killer when he walked in the front door.
Linden tells Skinner about Adrian having been able to see his mother's killer. She says she wants to speak with Adrian, which causes Skinner to bring her into office for a one-on-one. Skinner thinks Linden is too close to the case and her emotions are perhaps clouding her judgment. He doesn't share her interest in clearing Seward and sends her back out to look for Mills.
Henderson and Seward talk about Becker and Hill's death. Henderson points out that Seward could have done something for Hill. Seward thinks that he did and asks for a visitation.
Danette stops Bullet and asks her for help finding Kallie.
Seward meets with his father, who is also incarcerated. Seward's father was the one who sent him the razor blade. They begins talking about what kind of father he was to Seward. This goes poorly and Seward cuts the visit short.
Bullet tries to reassure Danette that Kallie will be alright.
Linden visits Seward. She shows him a picture of Mills, then tells him about Adrian's starts, which Seward put there for his son. She says Adrian would have seen the killer and wants Seward to help him find out who actually killed his wife. Seward is furious her belief in his innocence is coming so late in the game and cuts the conversation short.
Bullet finds Lyric alone in her room. Twitch has run off again. The two lay together on the bed and Lyric senses Bullet is upset. Bullet talks about seeing Danette and Lyric tells her it's okay to be vulnerable. Lyric says she notices Bullet and kisses her.
Linden and Holder talk about the killer being the girls' "shepherd" and that him putting them in the backseat (where they can only see his eyes) is a kind of confessions. Angie walked out of the hospital and is nowhere to be found. Skinner is furious.
Linden and Holder pay a visit to Pastor Mike. Holder seems to suspect he may be involved.
