What really happened during the 48 hours leading up to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy — at least according to mob bosses — is heading to the big screen in the upcoming film “November 1963: The Killing of a President.”
The mob’s version of events were passed down to Chicago mob boss Sam Giancana’s nephew, Nicholas Celozzi, by Sam’s brother, the late Joseph “Pepe” Giancana, who drove around with his brother Sam during those two days.
“The reason why there’s this fascination or anxiety is because people know that what they’ve heard so far doesn’t make sense,” Celozzi tells Variety of the ongoing interest in the circumstances surrounding JFK’s assassination, even 60 years later. “They keep talking about it because they’re waiting to hear something that makes more common sense.”

Chicago – One of the more high profile local film productions this summer was “The Class.” The film essentially reunites Anthony Michael Hall of “The Breakfast Club” with John Hughes-land, and brings him back to high school … this time as the assistant principal. “The Class” was written and directed by Nick Celozzi.
The film wraps production on Sunday, August 8th, and the young cast portraying the high schoolers – Charlie Gillespie (Netflix’s “Julie and the Phantoms”), Juliette Celozzi, Lyric Ross, Hannah Kepple, Colin McCalla and Michael Sebastian – will also wrap their roles in this Breakfast-Club like homage. While in town the cast also participated in “”A Night with Anthony Michael Hall” at the Tivoli Theatre in Downers Grove (Il), which included his co-star Debbie Gibson, the 1980s/90s teen idol singer-turned-actress.

Chicago – With films now in progress ramping up, Chicago is welcoming a new production that will be shooting here this summer. “The Class” will have a back-to-the-past familiarity for actor Anthony Michael Hall. Instead of joining “The Breakfast Club,” he will portray an assistant principal responsible for monitoring a new generation.
Another teen singer/songwriter icon from the past, Debbie Gibson, will also be featured in the film as a drama teacher, in addition to John Kapelos … who had a key role in “The Breakfast Club” as Carl the Janitor. They all will be joined by an up and coming cast of young actors, including Lyric Ross (“This is Us”), Charlie Gillespie (Netflix’s “Julie and the Phantoms), Hannah Kepple (“Cobra Kai”), Colin McCalla (Tyler Perry’s “Ruthless”) and newcomer Juliette Celozzi.

On Sunday, Batwoman showrunner Caroline Dries confirmed that actress Wallis Day would be joining the cast as Kate Kane, taking over the role previously held by Ruby Rose. And now, Rose has taken to Instagram to share that she is “stoked” for Day.
“I’m sorry I didn’t congratulate @wallisday yesterday,” Rose said on Instagram, in response to a photo tribute to her version of Kane. “I knew about the casting beforehand and didn’t know when it aired so I forgot to.
“I’m seeing all the things I’m tagged in with people sad or wondering how I felt,” she added. “I feel great I have nothing but good vibes.”
In Season 1, Rose led the cast of the CW series, exploring Kane’s decision to become Batwoman in the absence of her vigilante cousin, Bruce Wayne (aka Batman). The recasting of her role had been long anticipated,...
