I've been catching up on AHS recently, watching seasons 10-11 for the first time and rewatching some of the older seasons. So far this season has felt very slow and drawn out, and i feel like the writers could have made these first 3 episodes into 1-1.5 episodes and cut off a lot of the fat. Maybe it will be more important down the line, who knows.
However, this fourth episode (Vanishing Twin), is giving the feeling that we are finally getting somewhere and delivered much more of what most of us expect when watching American Horror Story, with the flashbacks, introduction of new characters, and the episode ending with a twist that leaves you confused and excited to see where the hell they're going with this storyline. If the next episodes of this season follow the trajectory of this episode, I feel we may actually be in for a treat of a season after all, despite the slow start.
