Producers needed to plan rehearsals for the production around the schedule of guest star Chad Brummett who was in preproduction for "The Lone Ranger."
Producers have secured Albuquerque's city council chambers for its on location set to give the show an authentic feel. Shoots are scheduled during the weekends when the city building is empty.
Writers named the police chief character Bob Tanaka after a friend they knew. Interestingly, actor Scott Takeda who plays Tanaka is related to the Tanaka family.
Several director friends of the show creators appear as guest stars and featured extras in this show.
Inspiration for the show came from humorous clips of actual city council meetings on YouTube. One particular clip titled "You Callin' Me a Liar?" was the inspiration for the Brian Tuttle character.
