XDefiant’s launch has been bringing in a lot of new and old players who enjoy competitive first-person shooters. Even in a casual context, the game has welcoming mechanics that give new players a learning curve that’s not too harsh and veterans are feeling at home.
Even though the comparisons with Call of Duty are uncanny, there’s a big aspect where Ubisoft’s game is likely to succeed more. The game will soon receive an update that lets players experience Double Xp and let the timer count down when in-game.
The Double Xp Countdown Timer Will Soon Only Take Place When In-Game This update will make it simpler for players to level up in XDefiant.
At the time of writing, Double Xp is active for players looking to level up quickly. This will last till May 28 (Tuesday), 10 Am Pt. So, it’s likely the best time to play...

XDefiant release has shaken the gaming industry with its very fast-paced gameplay and unique features. Players can play as special characters from other Ubisoft IPs like Iselda from Far Cry 6, Malee from Splinter Cell series, etc. and can even join various factions. With its release on May 21st on all available platforms, it has taken the Fps genre by storm. Players are calling XDefiant a “Call of Duty Killer” as it is very similar but also has many key differences that make the gameplay even better.

Developed by Bungie, Halo: Combat Evolved is the game that jumpstarted Xbox’s tenure in the games industry, inextricably linking it to the green-armored Master Chief and his fight against the Covenant.
However, the game’s development was far from smooth, filled with late-stage changes and frantic efforts to meet deadlines. A recent interview with Combat Evolved‘s original developers sheds light on a particularly dramatic near-miss – the potential removal of the now-iconic Scorpion Tank mission.

Helldivers 2 is in a rough spot right now and Arrowhead Game Studios is struggling to keep the game afloat. PlayStation 5 and PC users are noticing a drastic decline in quality, and some of them have given up the fight for democracy, which leaves the war effort in need of extra manpower.

It’s a known fact that Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty (CoD) series is one of the best Fps franchises in the gaming landscape. Although it’s been two decades since its inception, the CoD series brings a first-person perspective of immersive storytelling, intense military conflicts, and flawless multiplayer that only a few franchises can match.
While many believe CoD‘s gameplay has revolutionized shooter games, a few hold the opposite opinion. Tripwire Interactive’s founder, John Gibson, who created games such as Killing Floor and Red Orchestra 2, once ruthlessly claimed that Call of Duty has “ruined a generation of shooter players.”

House Harkonnen in the world of Dune had an interesting look when contrasted with the rest of the races in the story. While Fremen, Atreidai, and Corrinos looked more or less human, there was something bizarre about the stark colors that defined the Harkonnen look, giving them an entirely alien feel and vibe.

Halo Infinite players have been quite creative with the forge mode, just like in previous installments of the franchise. Being the latest iteration of the forge mode, the one in Infinite is by far the most advanced and offers the most freedom and flexibility. Players have shown some really good creativity and versatility with the mode ever since.
The latest standout creation is a mode called Survive the Undead, which is now available in Halo Infinite’s matchmaking until June 4. It’s created by a group called The Forge Falcons, a well-known team of creators that features around a dozen members.
Classic Zombies Experience With a Halo Twist
Halo Infinite players can now play a version of the classic Zombies mode in the game.
The Survive the Undead mode brings the popular Call of Duty Zombies-like experience to Halo Infinite, using the Banished race of enemies from the main campaign.

Paramount+ has 71 million subscribers, and yet the prevailing theory is that whomever buys Paramount (or control of Paramount) — if anyone does — will shutter the SVOD/AVOD service.
Why’s that? Well, for starters, Paramount+ has yet to make money. It’s on the clock, though: Paramount management has the streamer pegged to turn a profit in the U.S. in 2025. It’d be a shame to close something that has lost billions of dollars right before it starts to make money — unless you’d make more money licensing the content currently on the platform, that is.
And that is almost surely what Sony would do if it ended up as the owner of Paramount’s assets,...

Last year's WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes came as a surprise and stalled the release of most movies and TV shows that were at least co-produced in the US. Now that the strikes have ended and the studios have been given the green light to resume production, 2024 seems pretty overwhelming with the sheer number of shows that have joined the streaming services' libraries.

Johan Pilestedt, the visionary behind Helldivers 2, recently sparked speculation with a post that hinted at a thrilling new development in the game’s universe. Fans are excited about the possibility that a new enemy resembling the Predator from the Alien series could make its way into the Helldivers universe. There is no shortage of terrifying enemies in Arrowhead Game Studios’ title, but the addition teased by Pilestedt could prove to be even more impactful.
Meanwhile, others believe that Pilestedt subtly hints that a cunning alien race from the original game might be making a vengeful return.

It’s been more than two months since Helldivers 2’s arrival on the market, and in that time frame, it has managed to gather a stable and consistent player count. There’s a huge thriving community at the heart of this Arrowhead live-service game despite not being on Xbox. While rumors suggest that it might eventually make it to Xbox, there’s another title that, if brought back, can fill in the void: Halo Battle Royale.
Several promising Halo projects have been developing in the last couple of years that we’ve barely heard about. One of them was a Battle Royale game set in the Halo universe, which Certain Affinity was supposed to develop. However, the long-rumored Battle Royale game was canceled before it could be revealed.

Halo 2‘s iconic ending, where Master Chief defiantly declares his intent to “finish the fight,” is undeniably memorable. However, it fell short of many fans’ expectations, as the epic journey through the game built to a crescendo, only to abruptly cut off without a satisfying conclusion.
The awkward gap has led many to believe the ending was rushed, a victim of development time constraints. However, more recently revealed information suggests a different story – Halo 2 originally had a much more fleshed-out finale.
Halo 2‘s Original Ending Featured Earth And A Tense Face-off
The storyboards reveal a scrapped ending for Halo 2 that was much more exciting.
Thanks to the release of Halo 2 storyboards by the game’s storyboard artist, Lee Wilson, we now have a glimpse into what could have been. Following his escape from High Charity, the Master Chief would have returned to Earth, a pivotal location in the fight against the Covenant.

Halo Infinite left players with a cliffhanger of the threat of the Endless. While details on this new race remain scarce, that hasn’t stopped fans from rabidly speculating over who it could be.
While many believe that The Endless is a brand-new race, one of the most convincing theories on the topic suggests that the Endless might not be entirely new, but rather a terrifying echo of the past – the Flood, in a different form.
The Endless’ Genesis May Be All In The Name There may be a lot The Endless have in common with the Flood.
Posted to the r/halo subreddit, the theory builds upon the established connection between the Flood and the Precursors in Halo lore. Precursors were god-like entities with immense power, while the Flood is a parasitic infestation consuming all life.
The theory proposes an interesting twist: the Precursors might not be entirely separate from the Flood.

Even CEOs have the desire to do things other than drive the company. And when you are in the gaming industry, these desires are obvious. Helldivers 2 is a captivating game, and one desire of the head of the developer behind it was tickled by a Helldiver. He too wants to play a game but it’s not what he and his team created.
Helldivers 2 was caught in the crossfire as Sony and fans clashed over the PlayStation maker’s decision to mandate Psn and Steam account linking to continue to play the game. However, just a couple of days ago, Sony poured water on the raging fire as it reversed its decision.

Recently, Xbox decided to shut down developers Alpha Dog Games, Roundhouse Games, Arkane Austin, and Tango Gameworks. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier is also reporting that Xbox is expected to make further studio cuts and consolidations within the coming weeks and months.
This news sent shockwaves through an industry that has become sadly accustomed to reports of layoffs and studio closures. The closures of Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks feel particularly baffling. While Arkane Austin’s latest project (Redfall) was a notable disappointment, the studio previously contributed to the development of several highly acclaimed games. Tango Gameworks, meanwhile, most recently released Hi-Fi Rush: one of the best-reviewed games of 2023 and one of the titles that Microsoft decided to port to PlayStation 5 as part of their expanded publishing program.
As many began to ask increasingly angry variations of the question “Why?” Head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty offerred something you could callously call an answer.

Joseph Michael Straczynski, a screenwriter who worked on numerous films, TV series and comic books, dreamed of correcting what he saw as the main problem with sci-fi series of the 1980s and 1990s – the lack of long-term planning.
He believed that writers and directors who were forced to work from episode to episode could not tell a truly big, complex, and consistent story.
Instead of making a series in which the characters explored a new planet or uncovered an anomaly in each episode, Straczynski decided to create an epic that focused on the relationships between characters and states.
His primary source of inspiration was literature: Asimov's Foundation series, Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, Herbert's Dune, and other large-scale epics. And in 1994 his ambitious project was released – Babylon 5, which even after 30 years has an audience rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Some people say they prefer video games to any kind of TV show these days, and it's not hard to see why. Not only do games offer amazing stories and great graphics, but they also draw you in and make you feel like a part of the universe in which the events take place.
However, games take time, skill, and patience, and they're not for everyone. So, if you are interested in some of the plots of video games, but want to sit back and relax while watching them, here are 8 best adaptations that might be a perfect choice.
8. Sonic Prime (2022-...) – 60%
The fate of the world is once again in Sonic's hands as he must use his super speed to save the newly created multiverse. Although the latest installment of the famous hedgehog's journey didn't impress audiences too much, viewers were much more appreciative, giving the show an 86% approval rating.

You know what the most important thing about a good TV show is? The ability to watch it from start to finish. And that doesn't always happen – just ask fans of The Santa Clarita Diet, The Great, or The Oa.
Sci-fi fans on Reddit have compiled their list of shows that were killed off too soon.
1.Firefly, 2002
In 2002, one of the biggest cancellations in television history occurred: Fox canceled Joss Whedon's Firefly. It's hard to describe the shock and anger of the fan community.
The fans of the series tried to contact the network executives who had made such an awful decision with all the means at their disposal: petitions, letters, phone calls, and pickets at the studio doors.
It's no wonder that more than twenty years later, Firefly remains the biggest wound in the hearts of sci-fi fans.

After Microsoft’s closure of the Activision Blizzard merger last year, Xbox is now one of the biggest publishers in the gaming industry, a far cry from just 10 years ago, when it had a paltry five studios developing mostly Halo, Gears, and Forza games.
However, things have massively changed now, as the brand has 36 game development studios under its umbrella, as well as ownership of legendary IPs like Call of Duty, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Diablo, and many more. With names like these representing Xbox in the future, where does Halo -the trendsetter that kickstarted the platform in 2002 – fit in?

The Fallout series has been a huge success and proves once again how live-action adaptations of video games are not a bad idea after all. Following in the footsteps of Halo and The Last of Us, the TV show has become one of the best-performing releases on its respective platforms, and the showrunners have teased how the fun has just begun.
The Fallout TV Series has proven to be a huge success
While the series is getting praised for its excellent world-building and the great understanding of its source material, it is still missing a lot of elements, including Deathclaws, something which co-showrunner Graham Wagner has revealed the studio is looking forward to adding soon in the coming seasons.

Halo Infinite is the first open-world game in the series, and its development cycle reflects that. Taking 6 years to develop on 343’s brand-new Slipspace engine, Infinite ended up releasing in 2021, after a year-long delay from its initial planned release.
Going the open-world route was a big point of debate for the return of Master Chief, as well as Infinite‘s unconventional direction as a “spiritual reboot” built on a smaller scale compared to other open-world titles. However, here’s why that might have been the very element that saved the franchise.

Speaking with The Gamer, Halo Infinite associate director Paul Crocker explained that the development team consciously avoided mimicking modern trends or relying on comparisons to other titles:

Right now, Far Cry is currently one of Ubisoft’s longest-running franchises and is still getting new games every couple of years. Ubisoft tries to rediscover it; they try to give gamers a world that is worth exploring and characters worth interacting with. This legacy of having interesting characters, specifically an interesting villain, came from Far Cry 2.
Back then, it was the pinnacle of what was possible if developers invested time in some exciting new technologies. Dunia Engine was a one-of-a-kind game engine; Jackal was a one-of-a-kind villain; and that game’s world was unlike anything players had explored before. But its director explains that the inspiration for that came from a very unexpected place.

The “animals attack” subgenre is getting a new installment with the upcoming Savage Hunt, a survival thriller from director Roel Reiné (Halo) that Deadline has previewed today.
The site’s report – which brings us a first-look image, seen above – notes: “The production has told us they are currently using a real grizzly bear on location as part of the shoot.”
Here’s the synopsis for the upcoming Savage Hunt: “The story follows a vengeful tracker who is brought in to hunt down a large grizzly bear, which has begun attacking humans when a new local resort begins construction, disrupting the natural habitat of the wildlife.”
“We wanted to strive for as much realism as possible, showing how powerful nature can be, and the effects of man encroaching on an animal’s natural environment,” the producers said.
“Filming with a real bear in real locations with real actors is a very complex task.

The latest and sixth installment in the popular Halo series, Halo Infinite, was released on December 8, 2021, for Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Before the release of the game, there were many concerns over its gameplay as the previous game in the series, Halo 5: Guardians, was scrutinized for its story, writing, and ending. Fortunately, Halo Infinite was a success as the game was well-received by fans as well as critics.

Formerly an exclusive title for Microsoft platforms, the game’s arrival on Sony’s console has ignited a fresh wave of debate over which console reigns supreme, and both sides seem to have a lot to say about it.
The Xbox Series X vs. PS5 Debates Escalate Quickly
The former Xbox exclusive has riled up console players on both sides
Initial impressions of Sea of Thieves on the PS5 have been overwhelmingly positive. The game has a Metacritic score of 85 (based on four critic reviews) and there are first-hand reports from players suggesting it runs smoother compared to its Series X counterpart.

In a shocking move that is shocking nobody this afternoon, Paramount Global President and CEO Bob Bakish is out. In are his (hopefully) crack replacement team. The “Office of the CEO” gang consists of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon CEO Brian Robbins, Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios President and CEO Chris McCarthy, and CBS President and CEO George Cheeks.
Paramount Global reported its quarterly earnings on Monday, hence the timing. Company executives, those who remain at least, will host a conference call with Wall Street analysts (and the media listening in) at 4:30 p.m. Et.
“Paramount Global includes exceptional assets and we believe strongly in the future value creation potential of the Company,” Shari Redstone, the chair of Paramount’s board, said in a statement. “I have tremendous confidence in George, Chris, and Brian. They have both the ability to develop and execute on a new strategic plan and to work together as true partners.

The overwhelming praise for Prime Video's Fallout has demonstrated that inspired and absurd video game shows can appeal to modern audiences.
While we're accustomed darker and more serious adaptations, Fallout proves there is room on the schedule for many thematic differences from the gaming world to move to TV. But not all attempts are equal.
Many video game adaptations come across as dark and grim as the show creators try to make their show seem edgy and aggressive, even if the game itself was not.
Sometimes, that backfires on them. But how did that become the prevailing tone in the first place?
We can look at Halo as an example. The Paramount+ series tried to bring a more serious note when all the fans really wanted to see was The Masterchief beat the covenant -- without ever seeing his face. Tying a leading man to the helmet, though, was a giveaway that change was ahead.

Throughout its run, we’ve followed an elite team of believers and skeptics tasked by the Vatican to investigate purported demonic events in the Paramount+ Original series Evil. The supernatural drama, which is preparing for its finale, is the creation of husband-and-wife showrunners and writing partners Robert and Michelle King,...

Fallout is the latest game franchise to leap from an interactive format to a linear and straightforward television series. Prime Video has another successful show, as it collaborated with Bethesda and passionate writers.
The secret to its success was that the showrunners behind it were already fans of the source material and knew how to authentically translate it without overdoing it. The writers spoke about the unique experience of doing a game adaptation and what the future holds.
Fallout Writers Almost Overdid It With Season 1
