In the final scene when Gabriel leaves the farm he is wearing white trousers and white shirt with a dark waistcoat but shortly later when B catches up with him he is dressed in completely different clothes.
At the beginning of the movie, Bathsheba Everdene is shown riding along sidesaddle. Suddenly (probably to show her disregard of convention) she throws her leg across and gallops away astride, like a man. However, there is a lip on the off side of a side saddle that does not allow for comfortable cross-saddle riding. We see the saddle with its horn (leaping head), but we also see a stirrup on the off side. A sidesaddle does not have stirrups on both sides, only on the near side.
In the opening credits it states - Dorset, 200 miles from London.
Nowhere in Dorset is that far from London, the furthest distance is about 155 miles, with the location of the book/film being about 130 miles.
In the harvest scene Gabriël Oak cuts the grain with a scythe instead of using the appropriate tool for cutting grain, i.e. a sickle. Scythes were used for cutting grass.
At around 49 mins. Batsheba starts singing and then after a while accompanies herself on the piano. This is believed to be impossible. She would need to find the right pitch (by striking a key on the piano) before she starts singing. However, people with absolute hearing are capable of finding the right pitch without any problem.
At the end of the fair scene, filmed in front of Sherborne Abbey, a yellow road marking (indicating that parking is prohibited at certain times) is clearly visible.
When Bathsheba is out bird hunting, you see her bring down one bird and you simultaneously hear the report from the shotgun. However, she doesn't actually pull either of the two triggers, the only cocked hammer does not fall, there is no smoke, and there is no recoil from the shot. Bathsheba basically just swings the shotgun around, and doesn't actually fire anything.
Early in the movie, Bathsheba lies back along her horse to ride underneath some overhanging branches. As she clears the trees, a branch hooks her scarf and pulls it off, yet the hook points in the wrong direction for this to happen naturally.
