Dick Butkus, a Hall of Famer who was among the greatest, most respected and most feared players in NFL history and also had a long acting career in TV, film and commercials, died overnight in his sleep at his Malibu home. He was 80.
His family confirmed the news on social media.
After back-to-back All-America seasons at the University of Illinois, Butkus was picked No. 3 overall by his hometown Chicago Bears in 1965. A fearsome force on the field and rather gentle giant off of it, he spent his entire injury-shortened nine-season career with the club, redefining the linebacker position in the process.

Outer Banks, which became a sleeper hit for the streaming service, has snagged a second season order.
Greenhouse Academy, meanwhile, has been canceled after four seasons.
Outer Banks is a coming of age story that follows a tight-knit group of local teens (the “Pogues”) in the beach vacation destination of the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
When a hurricane kills the power for the summer season, it sets off a chain of illicit events that force the friends to make life-altering decisions.
The search for their ringleader’s missing father, forbidden romances, a high-stakes treasure hunt, and the escalating conflict between the Pogues and their rivals turn their summer into one filled with mystery and adventure they’ll never forget.

Yesterday I wrote up on the names of films and TV shows that would be leaving Netflix over the month of March. "Oh, is that a Coke?!" Greta Gerwig exclaims. A tinkering tray carrying -- yup -- a glass of Coca-Cola has just arrived to her hotel suite. I'm having a side conversation with the actress Saoirse Ronan about their new film, Lady Bird, as Gerwig gleefully intercepts the Coke and takes a sip. "Oh god. That tastes so good."
"She don't give a sh*t about the movie right now," Ronan throws a thumb in Gerwig's direction, drawing her attention. "He was saying lovely things about the film and you're like, 'Mmm, fizzy! Bubbly!'"
Lady Bird, which Gerwig wrote and with which she makes her directorial debut, centers on high school senior Christine McPherson, self-nicknamed Lady Bird, as she navigates Catholic school boys, college applications and mother-daughter drama in circa 2003 Sacramento. The irony is Gerwig gives such a sh*t about the film that it's the first thing anyone mentions about working with her. Beanie Feldstein, who co-stars...

David Mueller sat down for his first TV interview following Taylor Swift's victory in court.
On Monday, a jury found Mueller liable of assault and battery for allegedly groping the "Shake It Off" singer during a meet-and-greet in Denver, Colorado, in 2013. Mueller, who has denied the claims, filed a $3 million suit against the singer in September 2015, claiming she cost him his job and future career opportunities. The 27-year-old musician countersued Mueller for $1, accusing him of assault and battery. In addition to finding that Swift's mother, Andrea Swift, and her radio promotions director, Frank Bell, did not intentionally interfere with the former radio DJ's contract, the jury also ruled that Swift be awarded the symbolic dollar.

For many late-night critics, Jimmy Fallon's defining moment as Tonight Show host came last September during his banter-filled interview with then-Republican-nominee Donald Trump. After lobbing a few softball questions, Fallon, grinning wildly, reached over his desk and ruffled the divisive politician's hair.

Earlier this year we learned that Paramount Pictures was going to give the G.I. Joe franchise a fresh start with a revamped look. This new direction they plan on taking the franchise is said to appeal to younger audiences and fans. Anything they do next can't be any worse than the first two movies that were made.
As a long time fan of the G.I. Joe cartoon and toys, I would love to take a crack at helping develop a G.I. Joe film. I just finally want to see a great series of G.I. Joe movies! When talking about the franchise and it's future, Dwayne Johsnson, who played Roadblock in the G.I. Joe: Retaliation told Cinemablend:

Most of the time, I love characters who break the rules.
These characters are often heroes, fighting against a corrupt system, a ridiculous level of bureacracy or some other obstacle that makes it clear that the only justice lies in breaking the law.
Not so on Blue Bloods Season 7 Episode 16, where Nicky's interfering made a bad situation worse for a change.
One of the amazing things about this show is that it consistently gets me to think in a different way about the politics of police work. It humanizes police officers and uses Frank's struggles to show the other side of issues like broken windows policing and excessive force complaints.
"Hard Bargain" was no exception. Through Nicky's naive interfering, this episode illustrated many of the frustrating nuances involved in domestic violence cases and why sometimes trying too hard to do something about this type of abuse just makes things more dangerous.

Fresh from his 21-day African adventure, Jonathan Knight has dished to Et about his upcoming wedding and the scary moment he knew he had to propose.
The New Kids on the Block singer had been checking out wedding rings for more than four years, but it was watching his longtime love, fitness trainer Harley Rodriguez, dangle over a death-defying waterfall that prompted the star to finally pop the question.
"We were walking around Victoria Falls, and there's this thing called Devil's Pools," says Knight, who was holidaying in Africa with Rodriguez, their mothers and friends. "It's ridiculous -- you walk to the edge of a waterfall and then it drops straight down and it just didn't make any sense to me, so I didn't do it, but Harley did. In the back of my mind I'm like, 'If he's hanging off a waterfall, I could frickin' lose him! It's time to do it.'"

Adele has always been one of Hollywood's most relatable stars thanks to her realistic (and hilarious) workout photos, her obvious love for her fans, and the fact that she always seems to say exactly what's on her mind. In the November issue of Vanity Fair, the gorgeous singer not only sits pretty on the cover of the magazine, but also opens up about serious issues in her life. From her experience with postpartum depression and the pros and cons of fame to her love of Beyoncé and Bette Midler, see her best quotes below. On her struggle with postpartum depression: "I had really bad postpartum depression after I had my son, and it frightened me. . . . My friends who didn't have kids would get annoyed with me, whereas I knew I could just sit there and chat absolute mush with my friends who had children, and we wouldn't judge each other.
