I call her mobile all the time just to hear her voice on the answerphone.

A young couple was arguing over a text message sent by the boy to another girl. In their way outside the block of flats, they noticed a man dead on the ground. He was killed by a blow to the head, probably a hard kick, and an empty buggy lied upside down next to him. A boy went missing, a toddler who had just been adopted by a gay couple. This is a race against the clock for the detectives, because the infant suffers from epilepsy and without the proper medication he could have seizures leading to permanent damages (lost sight, paralysis and so on). CCTV shows his biological parents had crossed the block's gate just before the kidnapping took place. The mother (a drug addicted girl) and the father (a guy with temper and priors for assault) wanted the baby back, but it's not clear who committed the murder, because they put the blame on each other.

Barker has troubles in prosecuting, because the case reminds her something inside her family. But at the trial she is very professional, managing to get over it; Brooks (a fatherly figure for anyone apart from his daughters) plays a crucial role in this.
