Will Filler
jaredd8 December 2023
I suppose someone somewhere thought this episode would be better than just having dead air, but that is just old-time thinking. I don't know anybody who watches over the air TV anymore. And we know all these episodes were filmed and edited a long time ago. So what is the point??

With regard to the content in the episode, it's basically Will Arnett doing voice-over on what I'm guessing is a random person's list of favorite moments from past seasons. I already find Will to be annoying as host, even though I like him fine enough otherwise. And I would have killed to have some exclusive content such as some interviews with the BrickMasters or maybe some check ins with some of the past winners to see what they're up to. The only part I found watchable was the lie detector test which I thought was somewhat funny.

Let's break this down further. If you're a fan of the show, you'd already have seen all of this past episode stuff, and so you'd be disappointed that it isn't another new episode. If you're NOT a fan of the show, there is no way that you're going to tune in anyway, for the reason I mentioned earlier which is that nobody really randomly tunes in these days. We set our DVR or fire up a streaming service and watch what we want.

So on multiple levels this episode was terrible and a waste of my time. Time I could have spent doing other things. And I wouldn't have had to waste even MORE time writing this review to bash the producers...

I already saw this

Warning: Spoilers
Okay, I don't often get mad at reality TV competitions, and that's not even what this really is. What bothers me is that this episode is just a bunch of clips from episodes I've already watched, and that the show already got delayed by a week thanks to the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.

So now instead of two weeks, I have to wait three weeks to see the end of the show, which is really disappointing. It's three starts due to a couple of interesting parts (Lie detector with Christopher, racing with Jeff Gordon), but most of this episode really felt like a waste to me.

Episode nine said to wait for next week's finale. It's been not one, but three weeks since the competition actually aired.

All Brick No Substance

Warning: Spoilers
Billed as the top 100 smashes and crashes in 43 minutes seemed like a tall order. It was, and frankly this episode is greatly underwhelming; it's pretty boring. Weak attempt to squeeze more dollars from the show. Some of the best/funniest memories from the show were in the 90s. There was no rhyme or reason to how this show was produced. Far too much of Will Arnett just talking. And talking. And talking. If you skip this episode you're not missing anything of any significance related to the show. We just want to see the finale and find out who wins.

SPOILER ALERT: there isn't even 100, more like 70.

A Recycled Brickpile
AvatarAryk10 December 2023
Lego Masters, the show that once captivated audiences with its creativity and construction prowess, has descended into a pit of recycled content with this latest episode, a supposed "new" offering, being nothing more than a shameless collection of reruns.

Instead of the anticipated excitement of new challenges and innovative builds, viewers were subjected to a parade of past creations. Each segment felt like a slap in the face, a reminder of the show's past glories and its present descent into mediocrity.

The forced attempts at commentary from the hosts did little to elevate the experience. Their strained enthusiasm could barely mask the gaping void left by the absence of original content. It was a painful reminder of what Lego Masters once was and what it has become.

One can only wonder what compels the producers to resort to such blatant filler. Are they struggling to generate new ideas? Have the creative wellsprings run dry? Whatever the reason, the result is a slapdash episode that insults the intelligence of viewers and cheapens the once-respected Lego Masters brand.

It is a shame that this episode would be considered "new" content. The lack of originality is a betrayal to the show's loyal fans who crave fresh challenges and innovative builds. Lego Masters has become a shadow of its former self, a hollow shell filled with recycled content and devoid of the spark that once made it so special.

This episode is a missed opportunity and a poor excuse for entertainment. It serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of complacency and the need for constant innovation. Lego Masters has a long way to go if it hopes to reclaim its former glory. In the meantime, viewers are left with a hollow feeling of disappointment and a sense that the magic of Lego Masters has faded away.
