The Lucas Brothers are finally back on your TV.
The twin comedians will be featured in their first Netflix comedy special, “The Lucas Brothers: On Drugs,” which will premiere April 18. On Tuesday, the streaming service released its first trailer for the special, which you can watch below.
In the special filmed at The Bell House in New York, the Lucas Brothers take on a variety of topics in their signature, laid-back style. Their set ranges from twin stereotypes and Richard Nixon to ingenious plans to fix pay inequality and police brutality. Oh, and drugs. As one might expect, drugs are a huge part of their comedy.
“Here’s a rule of thumb,” says Kenny (or is it Keith?) in the trailer below. “You should never do ‘shrooms with a dude that looks like you, man.”
The trailer also includes some nifty Peter Max-style psychedelic animations. Take a look:...

Since no new episodes of the Lucas Bros. Moving Co. and Stone Quackers TV shows have aired since the middle of 2015, it was pretty clear Fxx had cancelled the animated series. Now we have confirmation that both shows are over, at least for now. Deadline reports no new episodes are being produced for the Animation Domination High-Def (or Adhd) programming block, which originally debuted Fox.That said, FX Networks CEO John Landgraf told the news outlet, "We have access to the Adhd library. Some of these shows may air on Fxx over time, and it’s possible we may commission subsequent cycles of one or more of these shows. A number of them were quite good." Keith Lucas and Kenneth Lucas created Lucas Bros. Moving Co. and, along with Jerrod Carmichael, voiced the main characters. Stone Quackers comes from creator Ben Jones, who voiced the...

Thank God the Lucas Bros. (a.k.a. Keith and Kenny Lucas) didn't follow through with law school. If they did, we probably wouldn't have played witness to the pop-culture treasure trove that is the animated show Lucas Bros. Moving Co. or their cannabis-fueled antics in 22 Jump Street. And we probably wouldn't — actually, never mind, they probably would still have the wherewithal to come up with a satiric show about community organizers in Brooklyn. But before that rolls out, the twins are joining forces with fellow comedians-in-arms Jermaine Fowler, Kevin Barnett, Jennifer Bartels, Lil Rel Howery, and Josh Rabinowitz (pictured above) to unspool a sketch-comedy series on truTV. Titled Friends of the People, the show debuts tonight with jokes tied to Morgan Freeman, Steve Harvey, and murderous geriatrics. Vulture caught up with the Lucas Bros., both of whom are writers and exec producers on the show, to talk about some...

When Jerrod Carmichael (Comedy Bang! Bang!, Lucas Bros. Moving Co.) left Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for Los Angeles in 2008, his first stop was at an open mike night at the Comedy Store’s historic Original Room. Six years later, his Funny or Die–produced debut special — filmed in that same room — debuted on HBO this past Saturday night (and is set to reair many times over the next two months). Showing off Carmichael’s low-key and conversational style, Love at the Store also happened to be the 26-year-old’s first-ever stand-up TV performance, and the milestones should only grow more impressive from there. Here are a dozen things you should know about him.1. He holds significant sway at one of the most legendary comedy club in the country.Prior to Love, video cameras had been banned from the 40-year-old Sunset Strip institution’s 150-capacity Original Room, the neon-lined home stage of Richard Pryor,...

If making an animated series was easy, a child could do it.
Actually, one is involved in the process now ... but that still doesn't mean it's simple, especially if several different shows are combined. That's the approach of "Animation Domination High-Def," a late-night franchise Fox debuts Saturday, July 27. Two of the 15-minute programs will be ready for starters, and Fox will give them preview showings in primetime Sunday, July 21.
"Axe Cop" is the component involving the child, Malachai Nicolle, who's 8 now. At age 5, he developed the premise as an Internet comic book with his much-older brother Ethan. Nick Offerman ("Parks and Recreation") supplies the voice of the sleepless, birthday-cake-consuming title character, with Megan Mullally (Offerman's wife), Patton Oswalt and Ken Marino furnishing other vocals.
Also in the initial "High-Def" lineup is "High School USA!" with singer-actress Mandy Moore and Vincent Kartheiser -- alias Pete Campbell on AMC's "Mad Men" --...
