Commanding performances, superb cinematography, compelling well-researched story
samabc-3195224 February 2024
All because of the 6 rivers that flow through Kashmir to Pakistan.. Sept,1948- when Pakistan occupied Skardu and Indian army had already occupied Zojjila pass, the Srinagar Kargil Leh Road and Indian army could have taken the entire valley, Nehru asked army not to advance further!! However, Nehru reportedly said that because up to that point there are Kashmiri - Kashmiri speaking after that point they were Punjabi Kashmiri speaking.. because sheik Abdullah told Nehru that his influence does not go beyond Kashmiri - Kashmiri speaking people and of course, Nehru had entire nation to build, a cease-fire was declared in December 1948 and that is how the first Indo Pak war ended in a stalemate.. In 1950. Sir Dixon suggested that Jammu & Ladakh since they are mainly Buddhist and Hindu should be with India and similarly the regions of Gilgit Poonch-Muzaffarabad-Mirpur should go to Pakistan and the Valley which is a Muslim majority should be put to a regional plebiscite. But Pakistan was not happy because that means loosing rivers to India!! With that Abdullah enacted big landed estates abolition act (land reform act) in Oct 1950. Under the Act, huge landmasses were taken away to end landlordism in J&K That impacted mostly the Hindus and pandits who actually owned the cultivated lands and they were not compensated!! In November of 1951 the JK constituent assembly was formed and that was the end of the monarchy. In July 1952 Delhi agreement was signed by Nehru and Abdullah - lot of power was given to state including their own flag, own prime minister, inspite of Kashmir became an integral part of india Article 370 was incorporated in Indian constitution to give J&K a right that was devised by the original instrument of accession and enabled them to ratify their own constitution. It provided a reasonable autonomy to the state! Very few may know that in 1953 Bharatiya Jansangh leader Shyamaprasad Mukherjee went to Jk to protest Article 370 and he was arrested by then Kashmir government! He later died in custody!!!! A quick snapshot of a checkered history of the region and A-370..

Talking about the film, it is is a thought-provoking and engrossing film. It is never easy to treat such a controversial and sensitive issue staying unswayed but film does not fail to investigate the complexities of Kashmir's political landscape. A fictional story, but it dives into this 70 years-old bitter reality, exploring the turbulent events happened in the region during those 70 years.

Well-researched subject. The script is crisp and compelling, with a powerful cast that brings depth and authenticity to their characters. Yami Gautam is superb as Zooni Haksar, an intelligence agent tasked with navigating the treacherous waters of the region's politics, while Priya Mani delivers a powerful performance who is caught in this crossfire. Breathtaking cinematography that captures the beauty and vulnerability of the region so vividly. Impressive background score that leaves an impact of the poignant moments. While the movie takes creative liberties to drive its narrative, it does so without sacrificing the essence of the real-life events that inspired it.

A powerful, thought-provoking film that leaves one reflecting on the heavy cost of conflict, a conflict that perhaps could have been avoided or resolved before it ran its course. A must watch!

Watch this in theatres!
jainarjav-4169825 February 2024
Hats off to the director. They have covered all angles around Article 370 - political, legal, economical, social and security - all in 2.5 hours.

Great performances by Yami Gautam, Kiran Karmarkar and Arun Govil. The movie starts around 2015 seperatist insurgency and shows all important events in the valley in timeline upto the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.

The legal complications and intrepretations on the abrogation which not a lot of people are aware about, are also covered in the film on a surface level.

There are no masala dialogues or songs, and movie is gripping to the end through great acting, screenplay, bgm and direction.

Watch this with your family in cinemas.

Must see drama on why Kashmir was burning for so many years.
mangeshpshelote24 February 2024
"Must see drama on why Kashmir was burning for so many years" is an essential cinematic exploration of the complex socio-political dynamics fueling the longstanding conflict in the region. Through its compelling narrative, the film delves deep into the manipulation of ordinary citizens by politicians, who exploit divisions based on religion, caste, and other identities for their own gain. It serves as a poignant reminder of the power struggles that have plagued Kashmir, shedding light on the human cost of political agendas and the desperate need for empathy and understanding amidst turmoil.

"Everyone should watch this" is not just a statement; it's a call to action for individuals to confront the harsh realities depicted in the film. As an eye-opener, it prompts viewers to reflect on the repercussions of systemic injustices and the consequences of apathy towards the suffering of others. By shining a spotlight on the plight of the common people caught in the crossfire of political machinations, the movie underscores the urgency of fostering dialogue, empathy, and genuine efforts towards peace and reconciliation in regions torn apart by conflict.

Gripping, Marvelous, Must See, Awesome Family movie!
pushpamsharma-3801223 February 2024
Siddharth Anand and his cheap VFX contemporaries should learn from Article 370, how to make a movie which need not be too loud, without unnecessary dance , VFX but gives enormously more thrill, and is gripping to keep you hooked onto your seat.

Right from the 1st minute you will be engrossed into the movie, and enjoy each moment thereafter. Yami Gautam has yet again proved she does not need to play second fiddle to any khan and can pull any movie with her acting abilities, amazing expressions and a great direction, screenplay and most important the nationalistic subject. Priya mani has continued amazing the Hindi audience beyond Family Man. A must watch, and moreover it is a family movie.

"Article 370: The Integral Heart of India"
poojaradkar24 February 2024
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Kashmir Valley, "Article 370: The Integral Heart of India" takes audiences on a gripping journey through the complexities of one of the world's most contested regions. At its core lies the story of a nation grappling with its past, present, and future, as the central government navigates the delicate balance between upholding the special status granted to Kashmir under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution and addressing the challenges posed by terrorism and separatism.

The film follows the lives of several key characters whose fates are intertwined with the fate of Kashmir itself. Among them is a seasoned government official, tasked with overseeing the implementation of policies aimed at fostering development and reconciliation in the region. Despite facing immense pressure from all sides, he remains steadfast in his commitment to upholding the principles of democracy and unity, even as the specter of terrorism looms large.

Parallel to his story is that of a young Kashmiri woman, whose life is forever changed by the conflict that has engulfed her homeland. As she grapples with the complexities of identity and allegiance, she finds herself torn between loyalty to her community and her desire for a better, more peaceful future. Through her eyes, audiences are offered a glimpse into the human cost of the ongoing struggle for Kashmiri autonomy and the toll it takes on individuals caught in the crossfire.

Interwoven with these narratives are the stories of ordinary Kashmiris, whose resilience and determination in the face of adversity serve as a testament to the indomitable spirit of the human soul. From the street vendors eking out a living amidst the chaos of curfews and crackdowns to the students yearning for a brighter tomorrow, each character adds depth and nuance to the rich tapestry of life in Kashmir.

As tensions escalate and the region teeters on the brink of chaos, "Article 370: The Integral Heart of India" offers a timely reminder of the importance of dialogue, understanding, and empathy in resolving conflicts rooted in centuries of history and tradition. Through its powerful storytelling and evocative visuals, the film challenges audiences to confront their own biases and preconceptions, while inspiring hope for a future where peace and prosperity can flourish in the valley once more.

In the end, "Article 370: The Integral Heart of India" is more than just a film-it is a poignant reflection of the human experience, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, and a tribute to the enduring bond between Kashmir and the rest of India.

Amazing masterpiece of a movie. Glimpse of what really happened in background of this historical decision. Loved every minute of it. So many things I want to say about this review but I don't want to spoil it we know about what really happened in terms of media coverage but how much hard work went through what kind of decisions were taken how many people sacrificed their life. It makes you wonder how many peoples which are real heroes of our society go unnotist unnoticed. This movie makes you think about your priorities your goals your roots and what our civilization went through by barbarik invaders.

One of the best of its genre.
trashukumar-1906425 February 2024
After very long interval or can say wait, a decent movie came out in this genre. Having no bollywoodiya bakwaas, no over-stardom acting. No cheap story and screenplay.

With facts and historic visuals, the movie sums up as well researched and directed with topping of lead actor Yami fabulous acting.

Congratulations to the entire Team of B62, Jio, Director, Producers, Cast and Crew for bringing this masterpiece for the viewers on such a crucial topic which a common man is ignorant about. This is a phenomenal movie production I have seen in recent times. This is not a regular romcom entertainment movie but instead touches on several serious subjects of national importance. Article 370 has all the flavors for being a Political Thriller packed with Action, Drama and Emotions. This movie is not for the faint hearted. It will give you an adrenaline rush and heart thumping Patriotism sparkling throughout the movie. The movie is correctly paced and keeps the audience engaged. The heart misses a beat looking at the Pulwama attack and the depiction has been spot on. The depiction of the Kashmir valley has been very thorough and the credit goes to the Director Aditya for his exemplary role and judgment to get the best out of everyone.

One of the finest real life incident shown in most realistic way as could be
prithukvb23 February 2024
In brief, it's one of such movie which will go down in history how true incidents can be depicted in an engaging manner, representation of truth and facts in best researched manner as possible.

It's a groundbreaking movie, you don't feel in theatre it's 2 hr:40mins movie, it's so engaging and gripping till end.

There are also moments when you feel with characters, portraying and screenplay is so well done.

They've divided in parts the incidents and that was so justified and prompt.

All the characters felt real and believable, you guys must watch this with your friends and families in theatre.

Must watch as movie lover.

A wasted opportunity
subroto-mozumdar29 April 2024
A talented cast is wasted in a rather obvious propaganda film for the pseudo nationalist. A less jazzified movie with more realism and some balance may have had a better reception and served the same purpose with subtlety. That said, in the recent spate of movies of the jingoistic category, this may be one of the better ones if one has the patience to sit though it till the end. One is amazed to see the ratings being given, which makes it so very obvious that these are orchestrated by political interests that prevail. A question that comes to mind is whether this movie too received the kind of subsidies that the other ones in this genre did.

Surprise! This is really a good film.
pranabchaudhury3 March 2024
Surprise! This is really a good film and a very well made. Perfectly captures every important angle related to the 370 article and its abrogation. Which gives you a gripping edge-of-the-seat experience, powerful performances, Yami Gautam pulls off a Vicky Kaushal from URI. It's great to finally see a Hindi film in a houseful theater (on its 2nd Sunday) that finally features no songs or character's dance, the classic way of making films.

As it's said 'it was an act to keep Kashmir and its people away from India by keeping them in India and rest of India from Kashmir' the abrogation changed it. Also I personally believe that PoK and that hypocrite army-ruled country will eventually be part of India like it was before, its just a matter of time and a political turmoil away with China being the crybaby antagonist just witnessing history.

Freedom comes at a cost.
shradhashriyam24 February 2024
Need more such movies.

The citizens of India should be aware of the sweat and blood that goes into ensuring the safety, security and integrity of this great country. And all of this goes on behind the scenes, with no aspirations for money, fame or power. Start appreciating these silent battles which are being fought 24/7 365 days just so you and me can live a life of peace.

Brilliant message, astounding cinematography, very real and goosebumps inducing acting. Gripping tale which leaves you at the edge of your seat throughout. The background score, especially during the intense scenes, leaves you with goosebumps and a chill running down your spine. All in all, you come out of the theatre with a renewed outlook, appreciation and gratitude for the people working tirelessly for our sovereignty. Jai Hind.

It's a ride, not a revelation.
best-review23 February 2024
Oh, buckle up, folks, 'cause we're diving into the cinematic masterpiece that's about as grounded in reality as a unicorn at a rave. The story? A wild ride on the make-believe express, chugging full steam ahead into fantasyland, leaving little ol' reality eating its dust.

Now, the screenplay - oh, honey, it's not just draped in nationalism; it's practically bathing in it, with zero chill on the patriotic front. It's like they're trying to sell you a brand of patriotism so exclusive, it only exists in their heads. And the timing? Chef's kiss Perfect for stirring the pot just when election season's heating up. Coincidence? I think not.

Let's talk narration - it's like that one friend who's super into conspiracy theories and somehow makes them sound legit. You know it's all wild speculation, but dang, it's entertaining.

Yami Gautam, bless her, still manages to shine like a diamond in a rhinestone world. Girl's picking scripts like she's the only one in town with taste. Priyamani and the gang? They're doing what they can, serving up performances that almost make you forget you're watching a glorified political pamphlet.

The direction and cinematography? On point, I guess, if you're into that sort of aesthetic - making propaganda look pretty. And the music? It's there, doing its best to set the mood, bless its heart.

In short, if you're in the mood to indulge in a fantasy so detached from reality it needs its own zip code, and you love a good fictional tale masquerading as something profound - this flick's your ticket. Just, for the love of all things sensible, don't walk out of there thinking you've just been enlightened with the sacred truth. It's a ride, not a revelation.

The Film watching experience
sandipraychaudhury23 February 2024
The success of the film will indeed reflect the current mindset of my compatriots. Moreover, it's imperative to conduct some research before attending the film screening. A deep understanding of current affairs is not only essential but also indispensable. Additionally, I thoroughly enjoyed the film; it was both engaging and informative. If you, the reader, have been deeply moved by films like Uri, The Kashmir Files, The Kerala Story, and Sardar Udham, then I urge you to catch Article 370 at the next available showing. To conclude, the most striking and heartwarming moment for me was the display of the photograph frame featuring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Netaji Subash Chandra Bose.

Eye Opener for every Indian citizen
callmeshaun23 February 2024
I had always a gut feeling that this movie will tell a great story to every Indian. This movie is full of goosebump moments - the moments tell us about what progress and what collectively we have achieved as a nation. I never felt so good about my nation , my country....forget about China Pakistan , this movie tells us that every day the Govt and it's agencies are dealing with countless of internal enemies whilebwe are drinking Starbucks coffee and dominoz pizza.

As right pointed out in the movie, Kashmiris always felt outside India, thanks to a ruthless vindictive pact made by some PM named nehroobwith some adullah. It's so good to see that today Kashmir is integrated with India.

Once in a year masterpiece
hemantraina23 February 2024
Yet another masterpiece by Aaditya Dhar after URI: The surgical strike

Yami Gautam delivers an outstanding performance, proving to be the true gem of the film. Her portrayal is nuanced and powerful, capturing the emotional depth and complexities of her character with remarkable finesse. Gautam's performance is a testament to her exceptional acting prowess and stands as a highlight of the film.

While the movie excels in many areas, the portrayals of political figures such as Narendra Modi and Amit Shah fall slightly short. Despite this, the actors' efforts are commendable, and they manage to convey the essence of their characters, even if not capturing the full gravitas expected.

"Article 370" is more than just a film; it's an experience that evokes a spectrum of emotions and prompts reflection on the intricacies of political decisions and their human impact. It's a must-watch for its captivating direction, Yami Gautam's stellar performance, and its thought-provoking narrative.

Top Class !!!
sumitkils24 February 2024
I am a huge fan of political thrillers and barring a handful, Indian cinema hasn't been able to produce one of a top notch quality with the highest production values, finest performances, nail biting thrill and a satisfying experience of watching a fine film. Article 370 gives you all of that and much more, for it is based on the actual subject of abrogation of Article 370 from the Indian Constitution and the events leading up to it.

The research gone into the film is excellent and explained to the audience in such a lucid and simple manner which is a big win for the makers. There could be certain portions which have been fictionalised but that doesn't hamper the narrative and the facts. Most filmmakers tend to abuse 'Cinematic liberty' and don't realise as to where to stop. The director does realise that creates a world which is believable and factual.

I'm of the opinion that this film must be watched by every Indian.

A political Drama done right.
swapniludand2423 February 2024
What remains today in kashmir valley after a long bloodbath for more than 70 years is peace.

Article 370 presents an incredible true story of the events that lead to the demolishing of article 370.

Article 370 was not just a political gimmick or a normal law in a constitution but it was an act to keep kashmir and it's people away from India.

Aditya Dhar produced starring Yami gautam and directed by Aditya Jambhale is aperfect example of how to create a movie that consists of a political drama perfectly blended with a thrill of spy movie. Performances by the entire cast specially Yami takes movie to another level.

But the fact that the show stealer of this political drama is it's crisp editing, sound mixing and brilliant score. Technicalities are in level to what we saw with Uri and that makes it even spectacular. Screenplay is top notch, even the best part considering the fact that Kashmir and article 370 needs to be handled with a special care in which it s writer and director have succeeded comfortably.

There are few scenes which are a bit dramatic in a whole realistic movie but that doesn't make this movie go off the track.

It's a must watch movie, A masterpiece of bollywood in political drama genre.

Worst experience
sarath334727 February 2024
I rarely watch bollywood movies these as its used mostly for political propagandas. Story is good but casting was so bad. None of them know how to act on such scenes. Nice way to earn profit as they know the audience and how they can be blindly influenced through these events. As a regular movie watcher, this movie could have done some justice to real events but just used for propaganda. Many movies happened around the world on true events but this would be the last and worst of all. No improvisations, just blind talk in the name of acting. Still i understand the story with so many unwanted and boring scenes in between.

kashipkumar25 February 2024
No doubt it's based on real incidents of Kashmir and article 370 it displays tremendous efforts by Indian government to finally get rid of separatists from Kashmir and integrate Kashmir into India, it is a no nonsense movie, no love story just pure love for Bharat and its integrity, actors did fabulous work, specially All the leas characters including modi ji and yami gautam , sound effects are fabulous and direction and all were perfect as it is supposed to be as this was created by URI creators, I was curious how can be a small incident be big enough to create a movie but makers of this movie properly highlighted whole history regarding this and cost of achieving this peace in Kashmir.

Top Notch Acting but Much Lacking Scene !!!!!!
mp-1543324 February 2024
Movie Name- Article 370 Movie Timing- 2 HR 38 Min

Why Watch?- This is not a story. There is a constitution article. We all know about Article 370. In this movie, everything has been shown to us in detail. Actually this is not an article. I watched this movie because everyone should know that removing this article is not a small task. Indeed, looking at Kashmir, one feels that it was ours before and it is ours even now. How people have sacrificed their lives to protect the article. Pulwama attack has also been shown. There is also a heart of our country. I didn't like this movie a bit, because some of the scenes are wrong. Everything else was fine. From what angle do you guys see this movie? It depends on it.

Acting- All have done good acting. Yami Gautam your acting was different. Everyone else has worked hard. Especially the acting of the our prime minister and home minister of our country is not a game. Both of them did not have 100% effort in their acting, but it was average acting. Like goosebumps that should have come didn't come. Personality did not fall either.

Cinematography- The shooting of the movie is shown nicely. But the goosebumps that should come while watching the movie were lacking. People have watched the movie just to watch it. Background music is also not good, Which holds the movie. It would have been a lot of fun if a little more attention had been paid.

Direction - Holds the movie for some time. The climax was not that special. A little more should be shown about the parliament. At the end, people Just watched the movie and left. A little effort should be put. Mirchi masala should be added.

Director and Producer- i really don't know Aditya Jambhale . Still gave a good movie to people. But I know Aditya Dhar. Like they did in the URI movie, I would have loved if they had shown some effects in this one too.

Climax- Not so good. Really the climax should have been good. A lot of people ended up watching the movie and just walked away without even appreciating it. It seems that the movie has been made soon. If you have free time, go watch this movie.

Not a movie! Its a BJP Propaganda
anish-8179825 April 2024
The movie is not so subtle political propaganda by the political party. Also COINCIDENTALLY released on Netflix during the elections. :P. Acting and everything is fine but should have been made with a clean intention or to show the actual situation of the valley. Every here and there you can see dialogues plugged to show the inefficiencies of the previous government and the current government shining with all the glory. The country is being pushed into pseudo nationalism and being influenced by such lame movies. In the movie you would see the NIA using Charter Jet whereas in reality we have seen videos of soldiers not even getting proper food.

Well crafted political thriller
uselessaap25 February 2024
Kudos to the young director and producers! This a masterpiece. Fast paced, well written and brilliantly performed by all actors. The film highlights role played by security forces and bureaucrats in this critical move. Not a single dull moment. The story revolves around security forces deployed in Kashmir. First half focuses on the challenges faced by security forces deployed in Kashmir, the second half shows the meticulous preparation done by bureaucracy and security forces before abrogation of article 370.

Yami has given her career best. Special mention of young director for his debut film, he has directed it like a seasoned one.
