Poignant Documentary About Survivors of the Srebrenica Genocide

An extraordinarily moving and poignant documentary film about survivors of the 1995 Srebrenica Genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the efforts of Bosnian-American artist Aida Sehovic to create a monument honoring the genocide's victims and survivors. The subject is a painful one, but the film offers beautiful glimpses of the tenderness and empathy that survivors offer to one another. The viewer follows Aida in her labor of love as she travels with the monument internationally for more than a decade, listening to survivors and working to raise awareness about an atrocity that still haunts and reverberates decades later.
