- Everyone deserves to be the hero of their story. In "PROMPT," Dan Fogler takes on the role of Frank Conolly, a man who finds himself shackled by the struggles of life, accentuated by a series of setbacks. Frank's tale of resilience unfolds against the backdrop of typical life circumstances. Frank grapples with his past, a journey marked by his father's passing, a broken relationship, and the loss of his job. These trials lead him to isolate himself from the world, a task made easier after he gets a job promoting AI (Moralis AI). Frank finds an unlikely companion in the AI model, forming a connection and sharing his life's adversities over several weeks. Through these interactions, Frank slowly realizes that his newfound "friendship" is no substitute for genuine human connection. This breakpoint realization forces him to face his fears and find resolution in himself. The pinnacle of Frank's journey arrives when he is transported into his mind, where he confronts his inner demons in a symbolic and literal (martial art-infused) battle. This segment nods to how most people perceive AI in human form (homage to the Matrix). As the film concludes, the viewer uncovers the underlying truth that resides within Frank's experience. In a world where individuals often feel pushed to sink or swim, the film underscores the significance of perspective. Frank's path serves as a reminder that, regardless of life's adversities, every person possesses the intrinsic power to become the protagonist of their narrative. Ultimately, "PROMPT" resonates as a universal and distinctly human tale of continued self-discovery, resilience, and the potential for transformation through a shift in one's perception of life.—Dasha Libin Anderson
