Cinematic Catastrophe: A Total Waste of Money
vickyc-525056 April 2024
A Fragile Flower's plot feels tired; another story of love and fame struggles. Its brief runtime and succinct dialogues leave depth wanting. While visually appealing across U. S. locales and with striking costumes, it leans heavily on soft, Vietnamese songs, appealing perhaps, to a narrower, older audience. While A Fragile Flower boasts stunning U. S. sceneries and costume design, its story of a singer's life trials feels all too familiar. The film's concise dialogue and short duration fail to fully develop its themes, with its soft, romantic Vietnamese soundtrack potentially limiting its appeal.

Disastrous Display: A Cinematic Fiasco Unraveled
DaoPhuongAnhDao7 April 2024
Let's be direct: this film is an unmitigated disaster. Its narrative is utterly non-existent, wandering aimlessly without any semblance of purpose or coherence. The cultural references it tries to employ are so egregiously misplaced that they provoke laughter, albeit for entirely unintended reasons. The acting is another point of contention; it's so devoid of any real emotion or substance that one might argue a wax museum exhibit offers a more compelling and nuanced performance. The characters are flat, their development nonexistent, and the plot twists so predictable that any potential for suspense is immediately nullified. The dialogue is cringe-worthy, filled with clichés and lines so wooden they could splinter. Overall, it's a cinematic endeavor that fails to achieve any of its artistic ambitions, leaving viewers with nothing but a sense of bewildered disappointment.

Dissonant Echoes: A Cinematic Disappointment
HuynhUyenAn7 April 2024
Entering the cinema with high expectations for this film, I found myself deeply disappointed by its execution. The narrative lacks substance, offering little in the way of a coherent plot, and its portrayal of the Vietnamese community strikes a discordant note, failing to capture the essence or complexities of this vibrant culture. The performances further exacerbate the film's shortcomings, resembling actors reciting lines mechanically from a teleprompter rather than delivering authentic emotion. To compound these issues, the soundtrack is utterly jarring, with every piece of music grating on the ears, adding another layer of dismay to an already underwhelming cinematic experience.

Flop Alert: A Disaster Movie Not Worth the Ticket
yarielizc6 April 2024
A Fragile Flower's attempt to stand out with its storyline and Vietnamese songs feels overshadowed by its overfamiliar plot of fame and love struggles. Despite beautiful cinematography and costumes, its brevity and simplistic dialogue may leave viewers wanting more depth. Despite its visual appeal and an interesting storyline about a Vietnamese American singer, A Fragile Flower struggles with a predictable plot and limited character exploration due to its short runtime and straightforward dialogue. Its soft, romantic soundtrack may not appeal to all. Creating this movie was a mistake; it dishonors the Vietnamese community.

1st Vietnamese-American movie
klarakooh1 April 2024
A Fragile Flower differentiated itself from other movies by the storyline. It's a story about a new Vietnamese American singer who struggles with love, fame, luxurious life, and what she must give up to have peace and hopefully happiness .... We have heard "you only live once". Would she regret her choice in the end?!

This movie captured many beautiful scenery all over the United States. Gorgeous movie costumes. The movie time ran a bit short and dialogues are also short and straight to the point. More than 10 songs were performed in the movie, mostly in Vietnamese, and kind of soft and romantic songs. I want to say that this movie is very "clean". Recommend for the senior generation.

Disaster on Screen: Money Down the Drain
elsa-321376 April 2024
The film's reliance on soft, romantic Vietnamese music and its brief dialogue and runtime undermine A Fragile Flower's potential. Though visually appealing with beautiful locations and costumes, the plot's focus on a singer's clichéd struggle with fame may resonate more with an older demographic. Gorgeous U. S. landscapes and costumes can't save A Fragile Flower from its clichéd narrative about a singer's woes. Its short length and direct dialogue hinder character development, while the predominantly soft, Vietnamese soundtrack narrows its audience appeal. This movie should not have been produced; it's a disservice to the Vietnamese community.

Money Misfire: A Disaster Film Disaster
daylen-555446 April 2024
A Fragile Flower, with its beautiful U. S. settings and detailed costumes, still falls into the trap of a clichéd fame and love narrative. The film's brevity and the predominance of soft, Vietnamese music might not cater to a broad audience, skewing older. The movie's stunning visuals and costumes are undermined by a lackluster plot of a singer's predictable struggle with fame. A Fragile Flower's concise dialogue and short duration limit its emotional impact, with its soft Vietnamese soundtrack appealing to a more niche, older audience. Producing this film was regrettable and reflects poorly on the Vietnamese community.

A disaster film
michaelreviewFilm5 April 2024
I was eager to watch this movie, hoping for an engaging experience, but ended up deeply disappointed. It aimed to reflect Vietnamese culture yet completely missed the mark. The narrative was nonexistent, as if the concept of a plot was alien to its creators. This lack of story made watching it feel longer and more uneventful than it should have been. The film didn't just fail to entertain; it barely tried, resembling an underdeveloped project that somehow found its way onto the big screen. The music was as lackluster as the plot, failing to add any depth or emotion to the scenes. It's not just about the missed opportunity to showcase a rich culture; it's about how it turned what could have been a meaningful narrative into an unwatchable mess. It's a stark reminder that not all films are created equal, and some are best left unwatched.!

Not a Vietnamese movie
trizziephuongtran4 April 2024
My husband, a friend, and I went to watch a movie to support Vietnamese community films. Before it started, we took photos, admiring everyone's elegant outfits. But as the film began, my excitement turned to disappointment. The lead, Mai Thu Huyen, doesn't represent our overseas Vietnamese community but hails from Vietnam's new communist wealthy elite. This disconnect made it hard for us to relate to the movie. Additionally, the soundtrack was a letdown; I couldn't help but wonder why Thuy Nga wasn't involved in the project. The experience left me deeply dissatisfied, and I'm inclined to avoid movies from this production in the future.

I want my money back
bolsafilmreview3 April 2024
This film is an absolute letdown, especially to the Vietnamese culture it attempts to portray. With a title that promises so much more, it utterly fails to deliver. There's no storyline to speak of - it's as if the concept of a plot was completely foreign to the creators. Watching paint dry might offer more entertainment and narrative structure. And the music? It's painfully worse than the warblings of a karaoke night gone wrong. Sitting through this movie is akin to throwing away $20 and two precious hours of your life, which you will never get back. It's as if someone took an amateur film project, devoid of skill or artistry, and somehow managed to get it on the big screen. It's not just a missed opportunity; it's a misstep into the realms of the unwatchable.

The best foreign movie I have been able to watch for years
thaojacqueline2 April 2024
OMG...what a wonderful production from cinematography to music to story line. I LOVE it so much that I went to watch three times with all my girlfriends, family then my husband.

I truly enjoyed A Fragile Flower and I am impressed with their first Vietnamese movie made 100% in the US. Hollywood style and very entertaining to watch and learn many things in this movie. The music score in this movie is AMAZING that I went online and look up the music to listen to it again. I am in love with Vietnamese and their culture and customs.

Thank you for making this type of a movie for us to watch and enjoy.

Budget Burner: The Disaster Movie That Fails to Deliver
eline-154516 April 2024
A Fragile Flower's visual appeal and authentic Vietnamese soundtrack are overshadowed by its clichéd and predictable storyline. The film's short duration and straightforward dialogue leave little room for character depth, likely resonating more with older viewers. While visually stunning with great U. S. scenery and costumes, A Fragile Flower's storyline about fame and love struggles feels overdone. Its short runtime and direct dialogue do not do justice to the plot, and the soft, Vietnamese music may limit its audience reach. This film should not have been made; it casts a negative light on the Vietnamese community.

A Symphony of Missteps: Navigating the Labyrinth of Dissonance
ylanAngly5 April 2024
It's somewhat challenging to articulate precisely why this fails so spectacularly, not due to a scarcity of issues, but rather the overwhelming abundance of them.

The piece seems to attempt a fusion between the essence of a karaoke performer and the narrative depth of "Her Life," yet the outcome is disastrously disheartening. The musical elements are particularly excruciating. The core of the issue lies in the film's inability to foster any connection with its characters, marred by inept scripting and storytelling. Additionally, the actions and motivations of the supposed "cast" defy any logical explanation throughout. The film's overall mood is baffling - one might wonder, is there an attempt at humor? Is there an underlying message or theme? Could it be classified as a drama? These questions remain unanswered, leaving viewers in a state of confusion even after the conclusion.

Echoes of Nothingness
sophroniamNguyen7 April 2024
Ah, behold what can only be described as a monumental spectacle of utter vacuity. A storyline so remarkably devoid of substance, it appears thinner than the very limits of my patience, bordering on the ethereal. Cultural depictions so wildly off the mark, one could surmise their origins lie in the cryptic brevity of a fortune cookie's heart, devoid of any genuine understanding or depth. The performances? Oh, they beckon a question of whether the selection of talent was entrusted to the whims of a random number generator, a method as devoid of discernment as the plot itself is of complexity. Such a display of mediocrity, presented with a confidence that belies its lackluster essence, earns nothing but a sarcastic round of applause. Bravo, indeed, for this unparalleled journey into the realms of the uninspired and the mundane, a true testament to the art of creating something that resonates so profoundly with the echo of nothingness.

How Not to Make a Movie: A Masterclass in Failure
TranThivelinaray7 April 2024
"Don't expect a plot, any semblance of respect for Vietnamese culture, or even remotely decent acting from this cinematic endeavor. It's a real shame, honestly. For those who find delight in non-existent plots, coupled with a baffling and complete disregard for accurate cultural representation, then indeed, you're in for a peculiar treat. The acting? It appears as though the cast is in a fierce competition, not for excellence, but rather for an award in sheer mediocrity. Astonishingly, this movie doesn't just slightly miss the mark; it seems to be aiming at a completely different target range altogether, one where.

Discordant Echoes: The Misstep of a Soundtrack That Lost Its Way
HaBongEsara7 April 2024
The film's soundtrack, aiming to elevate the narrative, unfortunately fails and detracts from it. Stuck in the past, the music doesn't connect with today's audience, lacking relevance and proper homage. The singer's performance only intensifies this disconnect, highlighting an urgent need for vocal enhancement. This significant auditory misalignment undermines the movie's capacity to resonate and captivate, leaving it faltering in its attempt to make a lasting impression on viewers. The soundtrack of this film falls short in its attempt to uplift the narrative; rather, it drags it down. Stranded in a bygone era, the music fails to resonate with contemporary audiences, lacking both relevance and homage. The singer's performance exacerbates this disconnect, showcasing a glaring need for vocal refinement. This auditory misstep significantly undermines the film's potential to engage and captivate viewers, leaving it struggling to leave a lasting impression.

Sweet and heartfelt
tunthuy2 April 2024
It's been a long time since I have the pleasure of watching a movie that still holds my attention without all the added visuals such as violence, over the top visual effects, etc. I was surprised to find that I can still be moved by such a warm, simple love story. It reminded me of the time that I shed copious amount of tears over another simple love story, named LOVE STORY. Even my husband, who is never interested in what he called "chick movies ", was contemplative after he saw this. He even made positive comments about it on the way home from the theater, which is a rarefied moment for us. Thanks for making this heart tugging, tear jerking movie.

Echoes of Authenticity: Navigating Cultural Representation and Narrative Challenges
lethanyjae7 April 2024
I was genuinely hoping to find a bit of joy in watching something, yet this piece seemed to have omitted a critical element: a coherent plot. The intention might have been to offer a glimpse into Vietnamese culture, but unfortunately, it strayed significantly from authenticity, failing to capture the essence and depth. Furthermore, the acting did not resonate well, coming across as notably awkward, which detracted from the overall experience. This disconnect between the portrayal and genuine cultural representation, coupled with the lack of narrative structure, made it a challenging watch. Very dissapointed.

Echoes of Silence: The Unseen Canvas of Vietnamese Culture
xylergeremy7 April 2024
In the vast, ever-evolving realm of cinema, every film emerges as a distinct brushstroke on the grand canvas of culture, aspiring to add depth, color, and insight into the human condition. However, this particular cinematic endeavor, despite its potential, regrettably falls short of capturing the vibrant essence and rich traditions of Vietnam, leaving a noticeable void where there should have been a masterpiece. The plot, rather than being a coherent journey through a well-crafted narrative, seems to wander aimlessly, lost in a maze of underdeveloped ideas and missed opportunities. The actors, who are the soul of any cinematic piece, seem trapped in their own uncertainty, unable to connect deeply with their characters or the story's cultural backdrop.

Echoes of Absence: A Critical Examination of Cultural Representation and Authenticity in Cinema
QuocKhanhPhimMai7 April 2024
From an analytical standpoint, the film fails to deliver a coherent narrative, offering neither substance nor depth in its portrayal of the Vietnamese culture. Moreover, the acting performances are underwhelming, lacking both nuance and credibility. The narrative lacks a solid foundation, failing to engage with the complexities of its cultural backdrop. This oversight diminishes the film's potential impact, rendering its cultural exploration superficial. The performances further detract from the film's authenticity, with characters that often feel one-dimensional, failing to resonate with any plot.

Movie for old vietnamese peoples
cindymaiX4 April 2024
So, like, I wanted to see this movie, right? And then I realized something crazy. All the songs in the movie are like, over 60 years old! These songs are from back when my grandma was still in Saigon. And then, I checked out the cast, and guess what? None of them are even close to my age. They all look young, but most of them are like, way over 60, and a few are in their 50s. This movie is totally for old people. And you know what? Like all old people stuff, it's super slow and hard to get. I just don't get old Vietnamese people. They're just so different, you know? And most of the time, they're totally out of touch with reality. They seriously should not have made this movie. There are way better topics for a movie than just two old ladies being jealous of each other.

Lost in Translation: A Cultural Love Misstep
graemediondre7 April 2024
Craving an enchanting love saga that could whisk me away, I yearned for a tale deeply woven into the vibrant fabric of Vietnamese culture, rich in tradition and emotion. What I anticipated was a journey of passion and discovery, a narrative that would embrace and showcase the cultural heritage and emotional depth Vietnam has to offer. Instead, what unfolded before me was starkly different, a disappointing venture that left me yearning for what could have been. The story presented to me was barren, a narrative wasteland devoid of the emotional oasis I had thirsted for. The performances were lackluster, reminiscent of the arid expanses of the Sahara, devoid of the promised vibrancy and depth. Far from the love story I had envisioned, this turned out to be more of a tragedy, lacking in romance and failing to capture the essence of the cultural tapestry I had so looked forward to exploring. In my quest for a story that would capture my heart and imagination, I was met with a desolate landscape, both in narrative and emotion, a stark reminder of the potential unmet.

Disarrayed Dreams: A Cinematic Misstep
hughstonLeVan7 April 2024
In my many years of film watching, it's rare to encounter something this disjointed. The plot is an afterthought, the connection to Vietnamese culture is superficial at best, and the acting is reminiscent of early silent films, minus the charm. A significant misfire This film fails to deliver on many fronts, with a storyline that meanders aimlessly, cultural references that feel tacked on rather than integral, and performances that lack the nuance and depth of even the most basic silent era portrayals. What's intended to be a homage or exploration ends up feeling like a disjointed series of scenes lacking coheren.

Musical Misery: The Dissonant Disaster
traceyalyena7 April 2024
The music featured in the production is nothing short of a cacophony, reminiscent of stumbling upon the only vocalist in existence who appears wholly incapable of carrying even the simplest of melodies. It's not merely a matter of being outdated; rather, it evokes an almost ancient sensation, as though plucked from a distant era long forgotten. The vocal performance lacks finesse and proficiency, leaving one with the impression that the singer could greatly benefit from an extended period of vocal instruction and practice. One can't help but feel that the musical accompaniment only adds to the overall sense of calamity and chaos that permeates the production, ultimately detracting from its potential impact and leaving a lasting impression of missed opportunity and unfulfilled potential.
